Drive a shim in between the shelf and the wall which will remove any 'wobble' from the shelf. Wouldn't want something to fall off that shelf. The shelf looks absolutely stunning. 👍
I am going to install a 4x12x7 foot hemlock mantel, so I remembered watching this a few months ago. I want the floating mantel look. Very nice video. Thanks.
You can put the candle next to the plants in between all three of them (in the center of a circle). This way when you light up the candle, it illuminates the plants from below and creates a really nice effect. You can also consider replacing that candle for an electric one that looks exactly the same but won't damage the plants or heat up.
@@MrPostFrame I have been watching your videos since the first time I was looking around for home builders, I was hooked right away. I binged watched for several days to get cought up to today. I'm sorry you went through the insulation damage that set you all behind and hope you got all settled. Love all the videos you have done and CAN NOT wait for the final walk through. The house and yard are absolutely gorgeous and you are a very true to life general Jack Of All Trades like myself.( I always say master of none, because I enjoy learning and teach new things to anyone willing to learn.) Please keep up all the awesome things you are doing for your family and yourself. God Bless you and your family.
Nicest mantle on UA-cam. I think I will add some black 1/2" X 1/2" soft foam strips to the back of mine just to close up the visual light gap as I walk past it. Otherwise I will look at that every stinking time.
Fantastic job! I wish I had that saw contraption so I could do that myself like you did, but I will likely go to a sawmill near me and have them do that part. I'm going to check out your video on what you did for mounting hardware now, too. I was thinking of a heavy duty z-bracket, but your mounting is probably a lot more secure.
You're an articulate, skilled craftsman. Thanks for the well produced, detailed, professional quality video. Did you conceived ts project or is it a culmination of ideas/experience? It's fascinating how you cam up with the flange/stee pipe hangers. Thanks again!
Beautiful log nice choice, it's good to get the wife approval she look trill about your pick. Smart way to secure it, if it was me a would tap the pipe and put a long bolt specially with my kids and locktite it and add varnish It's sure looking good. Thanks for the video
Make sure you Amorseal those ends or it will keep checking. You could Armorseal the whole thing, it dries clear. That would last forever. Great work guys
I don't have a fireplace or a wood stove, but I think I'm going to slap a couple of those on the wall just because it looks so good. Now, where can I get a nice piece of log and a saw mill?
Wow I’ve been watching the build of your house since you started I think I started watching your channel before you started building the house you’re coming along ways I love your house I’m not building a house myself but I still enjoy watching your channel keep up the good work keep them coming hopefully you’ll have something else after you get the house all done see you soon
The mantel came out great Paul, I love it. Great job!! ... Emily I've been meaning to tell you I have a granddaughter named Emily, I call her by her name and middle name.. Emily Rose....
LOVE the mantle!!! Your technique for attaching it to the Woodstove wall was very smart! And I think there's room for common-ground on that mantle. The antlers work, too! Lol
Wow, well done, beautiful. I think I would lacquer or poly with a satin finish just to bring out the character of the wood.
This turned out incredible. The locking pin idea is a really nice detail.
Pretty sweet? Paul!... That was an excellent and extremely great idea!😮 Thank you for sharing. 😊💪💪💪💪💪
That's a lot of work but well worth it your mantle looks amazing and you would pay thousands to buy a piece like that absolutely gorgeous
Paul, I believe we are brothers from different mothers. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. You did it again!
Paul the mantle turned out amazing. Keep up the great work my man.
Beautiful mantle. Lots of character.

Another lovely addition to your home. Fascinating to watch. Best regards Karen
That is an Awesome mantel, love how you installed, I got poison ivy, just watching you cut that wood, in the woods ! Your mill is amazing!
That is such a clean install. Congrats!
Thanks!
The wood stove mantle is so nice and creative 👌 😊👍💕💕💕
Absolutely love it.
I love the idea of just going out in the woods and getting a log to do this with.
EXCELLANT FIRST USE OF THE SAW MILL GUYS!
Boiled linseed oil would really make the grain POP!
Thanks for the tip!
Excellent job!
The wall fix was also very clever and nice.
Looks awesome 🤩

Nice work on that mantle, I like that you got it from your property and it looks really good:)

Awesome work! I want to build one on a track that slides to reveal a hidden cabinet.
That's a really cool idea!
Excellent work!

Very good, jam up job! God Bless!
Mr Unbelievable! Amazing job

Enjoyed the show
Looks amazing. Will you have to poly it or anything?
that saw mill is bad ass
Thanks. I wish I had more time to use it. 🤦♂️
Beautiful job!
Great job Paul!
Thank you!
Awesome job
VERY VERY SLICK‼️👍👍 Maybe a few coats of oil would make the grain pop‼️. Vinny 🇺🇸
Beautiful
A big clock in the middle will look great.
Looks really nice!
Looks great
Nice call on the live edge! Looks sweet! Mill seems to run perfectly! Cheers!)
Make sure you Amorseal those ends or it will keep checking. You could Armorseal the whole thing, it dries clear. That would last forever. Great work guys
Thanks for the tip!
Great job looks good
yell the mill is a great ideal ..... OORAH!!🪵
Love it!
Looks great!
Great job!
LOVE!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
It's crazy that you can use most or anything in nature to decorate your home without paying loads of money.
If you have the time. Yes
Looks awesome man!!!
Thanks!!
great job!!

Looks awesome. Where's gonna be the pipe???
AWESOME !!
Looks very nice.
Don't you apply oil to the wood?
Very nice! Any concerns over having the bark fall off over time? Any treatment?
Good Job I Love It
Awesome!
She's a beauty.
Thank you!

Thank you! Emily Rose is a beautiful name! Thanks for sharing.
Did you dry that log any prior to hanging?
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Was that buck from your property?
I would put my big flat screen tv on top of that mantle
We thought about it but the pipe from the stove is going to be in the way!
@@MrPostFrame Oh yeah. Forgot about that.
Great Job !! You're a regular Lumber Jack LOL
Haha thanks!
What a guy....
That turned out really nice! To the point I might forego the stove so the pipe wont block the view of the mantle! ;o)
I know!
How close can the wood stove rising vent be located near the combustible wood mantel?
The stove pipe would have to be glowing red to ever catch that log on fire and if it was you’d have bigger problems then that
Well, you can always change it. ( nice installation ) just saying
The tiles on the back splash is it
look at the video couple days ago where he made it
My wife would never let me have a mantel, much less one made out of a tree.
👍🏽

I like your first choice for decorations better! Sorry Emily!
Haha she says her choices were what she could grab on short notice. There are plans for a better display when the entire space is finished.
You should put a gold or black resin in the cracks for the light to play off of
