I have had an ear infection in my right ear and silicon tips are uncomfortable ever since. I upgraded from AirPods 2 to AirPods 4 w/ ANC. I am extremely happy with the upgrade. The move from lightning to USB-C and wireless, and the anc/ transparency mode was well worth the upgrade. There is a noticeable improvement in the low-end frequencies as well.
Here’s what I’ve noticed, the silicone tips aren’t comfortable for everyone. Some people prefer the open ear design. The noise canceling is going to sound better on the Pros 2 because of them creating a seal. I have the 4s and there solid earbuds and fit comfortably, with no ear pain. It’s all down to personal preference. Do you prefer silicone and better noice canceling or would you prefer the better comfort if you prefer that and less noise canceling. Don’t sleep on the noise canceling on the 4s though it’s solid!
Apples strategy is to make you curious enough about the 4’s that you’ll buy them which you will. And then when the pro 3’s come out you’ll by those as well. It’s perfected perpetual consumerism. I own both as well.
If I had to pick, it would be the ANC AirPods 4. My only real question is: how do these fit during a workout? I imagine they’ll do fine on a walk or even a light jog, but if they don’t do well otherwise, I’ll probably use something like the Beats Fit Pro for more dynamic workouts.
For my AirPods 3, I have some silicone covers with “wings” which fit them into the folds of my ear. They work quite well and are cheap as chips on AliExpress. I’m sure they’ll have the same for AirPods 4 soon, if they don’t already…
I explain at the beginning I believe, there are two AirPods 4. One without ANC -- the entry-level -- and one with ANC -- the mid-tier. Then AirPods Pro are the high-end tier.

I’ve ordered the upper/mid tier AirPods 4. Arriving either tomorrow or Wednesday

Had the OG AirPods Pro, upgraded to the AIrPods Pro 2. Nice upgrade and Best Buy bought my old air to bring the price down.
Thanks for the vid. If it wasn’t for the extra small eartips I wud get the 4 with noise cancellation. Love the shirt where can I get one ✊🏾
The deciding factor for a lot of people will be whether they have ear tips or not.
100%! There's a whole dedicated section in the video on that. Which one do you prefer?

Replacing the OEM gels with memory foams is a must. Much more comfortable.

So.... which one sounds better ?
The Pro’s of course. It states this in the video too if you actually watch it.
Yup yup. Pros. But they always will with a sealed ear. But that isn't all that really matters.
AirPods 4 will stick magnetically to an Apple Watch charger. Just an FYI.
Yes! because there is a magnetic in the Apple Watch charger and the coil is smaller. But I don't have an Apple Watch charger i my car....
@@AppleInsider How many times do you need to charge AirPods in your car lol.
Nothing to compare here. Airpods Pro 2 are clear winner. Nothing will replace in ear tips for sound and noise cancelling.
But.. that's a comparison. Of course the sealed high-end ones sound better. But what are the other differences? Is the cost tradeoff worth it?
