    In Canada this would be a no go and wouldn't be allowed on the street. I would buy a blank frame(dealer) and get the vin transferred over. I wouldn't rebuilt this bike and I would store the parts and use them on a bike with a blown motor and with a good frame. Love your Channel and this is the first video I have seen with a bent frame. PLEASE DONT REBUILD THIS FRAME!

    • @eddyborges2075
      @eddyborges2075 3 роки тому +1

      Yup, I would just salvage the good parts and scrap the frame. Even up here frames come up on the classifieds constantly with clean titles. Would make for an easier project then trying to straighten a frame. I say in Canada even this would be feasible if you had the money to wait on a frame, new parts are stupid expensive up here. The parts alone are worth more then the entire bike when assembled.

    The large dent is quite concerning. Since it’s a motorcycle and not a car, welding it *may* be fine. The vehicle is pretty light. Even then, I’d try to find a second hand frame before I’d save that one, as it’s aluminum and not steel. When aluminum breaks, there’s no saving it. Even repaired, the chassis won’t be as robust as it once was.
    At any rate, looking forward to future progress.

    I wouldnt want to ride this bike even after the fixes, or at least not at high speeds. Aluminum can't be re-welded to its original strength like steel can. If you weld it, it will be barely any stronger than not, and you run the risk of a major breakage. Aluminum is what is considered a catastrophic failure material, I just dont think is worth the risk, we are talking about a human life in the line.

    Should't the frame be measured before "slpaping it back to the engine" ? Not sure what the law says it in your region. I had to get sertificate saying the frame is inside speclimits, before I was able to register my project bike back on the road - It did not even have any dents to be seen. And also as others have allready said; that frame would go in to the bin in Finnland as well, as it has cracks - English as second language, but you get the point.
