those floor things are gonna be a pain in the arse if you spill oil or any fluids

Not at all, I wash wheels on them all the time, spilt coolant, oil. Beauty is, I keep working, finish my task, then afterwards I lift them up where spill was and clean it, then back down. Over a year they've been down now, no complaints 👌
