I can't help but feel that while reaching the elevator makes for the most satisfying run structure (climbing to victory, no long wait in the elevator, etc.), it really should be that the timer stops when you reach the elevator but it only counts if you actually survive the journey down. Rocketboosting to hit the bottom of the elevator and then falling to your death surely means you don't actually finish the level...
i just watched your og half life speedrun history video and was hoping youd make another video like that someday, i didnt expect to see another one just an hour later LOL this is cool ty for uploading
Glad that my insightful contribution to the speed run at 1:58 inspired the next generation of speed runners to move beyond boring strats. Suprised and a little depressing that I'm still here watching lost coast runs
I can't believe you made me pull out my Lost Cost run from 2013. I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but as I recall there was no leaderboard, and I was unable to find any other single-segment speedruns at the time. So I went in almost completely blind, which was a lot of fun. ua-cam.com/video/h015KTq_8cU/v-deo.html

proud to have been the one to ruin the no launch category
ruining things is fun
hi guac
Your name is one of the most succinctly witty name I have seen in some time!
Congratulations

"Half-Life 2: Lost Coast was a single level campaign released by valve in 2005 to show what a game looks like when it's too bright."
SO TRUE
this is why i always disable bloom in half life 2 and other source games

Why do they slow down before the elevator
that would be trivial
edit: just to clarify, this is trivial because you could just airstrafe to land in water, which would eliminate fall damage.
You managed to make me excited to watch a video about half life two lost coast speedrunning
And then, Guacodile got this run.
Bro makin April fools 3 days late
My favorite speed run is just bumping the lift with your head and immediately dying lmao.
Lost Coast my beloved
i just watched your og half life speedrun history video and was hoping youd make another video like that someday, i didnt expect to see another one just an hour later LOL this is cool ty for uploading

Thanks for uploading this, I am serious need of some entertainment.
Yeah, lost coast was cool, but have you heard about found mountain?
remove the water
add snow
it is now a mountain
I uploaded some Lost Coast any% glitchless runs ~6 years ago now so I'll be happy to see it go from like 6th to 50th on my speedrun profile lol
Include the totally real speed run category where you import the lost coast bsp file into hl2 and beat it
no launch was done with a launch i love this game
i think the audio mixing messed up a bit in this video, i can barely hear you. great vid tho!
Yeah, the music is very loud.

One of my favourite Half-Life 2 games, I have spent probably over 30 hours in it. (a lot of that time being in MMod.)
The background music is kinda loud

good video but the background music is too loud
For a second I was worried that the whole video was April Fools and the entire speedrun history was made up 😅

Love this video, nice work! if I can suggest something: equalize a little bit the audio voice and reduce the bass (not a critique just a suggestion!)
yeah my system is bassy af for 5am lol

I hate prop jumping, it should be illegal. You simply can't do this on normal settings, only with key binding, as I understand.
It's funny
sounds like a you problem. It’s called SPEED running, not “I want what I want to be legal so I can be in first place!”.
