The most important thing this short doesn’t say is that their war crimes are largely to blame for sparking the insurgency, the disaster that is Fallujah. They had a completely unjustified “insane firefight”(actually war crime) that killed unarmed civilians. The people retaliated by killing men from blackwater and hanging their burned bodies on a bridge. This was the turning point incident that created heavy involvement between marines and insurgents, leading to the bloodiest battle America has seen since Vietnam.

There were thousands of private contracters in afghanistan and iraq, and the media labeled them all as "blackwater" so alot of the crimes that were alleged against blackwater operators, were not even really in blackwater. Then the politicians turned on them, that was pretty much the end for blackwater. Out of all the charges against blackwater only a few very minor ones actually happened, and only 2 blackwater operators ever saw the inside of a jail, although i seriously doubt whether they actually did anything wrong.
