    Sub out your regular salt with Kala Namak, a salt used in Indian cooking that has been processed in a very high temperature kiln. The end result is a salt with a notable sulfur content that smells and tastes like eggs.

To loosen it up can I use almond milk I’m thinking maybe

    • @ThePlantBasedKitchen

      You are the sweetest and you’re very welcome. If I had any encouragement it would be to keep trying different things until you find what you love and you’ll realize over time you have so many great options! I hope you love the tofu and you can totally add in some almond milk to loosen it up! I find with extra firm tofu that helps and I don’t typically need any more liquid with just firm tofu since it’s usually more watery anyhow. It just depends on the brand of tofu too - some seem more dry than others. Wishing you all the best!!

    • @ThePlantBasedKitchen
      @ThePlantBasedKitchen  3 роки тому +4

      I do actually! It’s got an earthy almost peppery taste and I like the depth of flavor it adds. Too much if it can be a little bitter so I try to use it sparingly. The color add goes a long way way.

      I’d see if you can find some vegan cheese that melts well to add a little cheesy flavor when you mix it in. I think vegan Parmesan would work best. You can throw in a touch of soy sauce for some added saltiness and just do without. You might just need to add in a little more flavor with salt and maybe some onion powder to spruce it up more without the nutritional yeast.
