8-4 is slower because the piranha plant in the first pipe doesn't disappear like in the NES version and in the walljump pipe is always a piranha plant which is in the NES version only there if you jumped on a beetle
@@geek_007 On 8-4 that pirahna plant always disappears in SMB1 because of the scrolling reset thingy coming up too soon. Beetle irrelevant. This one doesn't have that bug.
@@geek_007 Either way on the NES the piranha plant in that pipe will never be there when you reach it no matter what because it glitches out of existence before it matters. You ain't colliding with that plant no matter what. It goes away when you're literally 1 or 2 pixels short of colliding due to the scroll.
