"..that's the problem when your inside the DAW, then you can get distractive very easily so when you sit in front of the MPC, it's just you and the music.." This is the real gem of this video.
I have an OG MPC one, and every time I feel a bit stuck or blocked with track creation, I watch an Andy Mac video, and suddenly I am inspired and can create some magic once again. Andy Mac is a God!
I love my Live 2 Retro but I also really love the look of the One Retro. These things are just amazing pieces of gear. Sick little beat making session. This dude has skills. I hope one day I can be half as fast and proficient. I like his all MPC vids a lot.
We need more of this throughout the current scene, frankly the lack of chat and the more flow in situation is inspiring. It’s like watching skateboarding but with instruments, you could focus in on your actions and workflow from time to time just for the sneak, but the overall demonstration is just what I need. Your answering the why? superbly in this. Can’t wait for my order to come in.
Cool beans....can't wait for next update....I bought first live when released and every update is better than Christmas and birthday combined! Thanks Akai 💗💗💗🙌 Thanks Andy and Jack🙌
I love my MPC1. Not coming from an MPC background It took a long while for me to get used to the workflow, but all the hard work & time really paid off cause this little box can do a LOT! I love the new pad color. Maybe someday I'll have 2.
@@benhall2235 Interesting, I'm heading in the opposite direction. :) I bought the Digitakt and Digitone, but I feel that, while it's super fun to jam on them live, they make it too hard for me to advance to the song creation process. I end up with lots of really cool embryos, but I want something that allows me to put more structure to the songs. Also, I don't enjoy having multiple boxes with all the cables that come with them. Going from 5 cables to just 1 will make it that much easier to move it around, which I tend to do a lot around the house.
Oh. I was hoping to find out if chopping samples, and pitching and all that was intuitive and quick. Instead i found out that if you prepare beat performances beforehand, you can perform. Cool 😎
Wow... That was really good! Pressing on GAS over here, but on the other hand, I suppose it's a testament to sample based composing in capable hands. Inspiring way to get out of a creative rut, just load up some snacks and jam away until something sticks. Impressive exercise.
Totally. It demonstrates the speed you can create potential ideas which lead onto more in-depth productions. It was also really fun to test yourself doing something like this. We all get writers bloke, but somethings just jamming leads onto some of your best and creative work. (No Rules) :-)
While knocking out 10 beats in 10 minutes is impressive, be sure that Andy rehearsed this session before and he knew what he wants to play. And of course he knows the MPC inside out.
Cards on the table. I went in to Andertons and came up with the concept 5 minutes before filming. I loaded up a whole collect of kits and just went for it. It really isn't that hard if you start with great sounds and (also) know the workflow :-). This was the first time I tried something like this and TBH, it was amazing fun and we captured a vibe on camera. The workflow does allow you to capture so many ideas in realtime. Anyway....glad you liked it dude.
@@AndyMacMPCclub Thanks for replying and your honesty, Andy 👌! 5 minutes before filming is still very impressive. Any plans on releasing a Retro version of the X, though? I switched from Maschine to an MPC but none of the new ones. Tried the One two times but somehow it fehlt very computerish instead of working with an actual Instrument. Went for a murdered out MPC 1000.
@@AndyMacMPCclub Long background on creating on MPCs, starting with the OG 2000 I still have and use and the X. The effortless workflow is still king to me, and I love DAWs. Moving from idea to idea and knocking them out is beautiful. Even in DAWs the idea that you focus on the sound and not the other stuff is key for me. Great video!!
Like this guy and his rhythmic feel is very good though yes outstanding samples he uses also and the good right samples to start with is a good head start when making beats/songs. A speccially when this guy really makes so many complete beats so fast it is really unbeliveble and really a masterskill if you can make a complete beat that way, really WOW!!!
Great video! I’m seriously thinking about getting this MPC. I am a singer songwriter and for some reason I don’t really feel like composing music in a traditional way. Don’t get me wrong, I start with lyrics but I see myself using this device to work faster and get into the vibe instead of spending hours searching for the right sound at my DAW’s (which I also love by the way). Just get the right sounds, the right vibe and go with the flow and let the professional mixing and mastering of the finish products to the professionals.
Watching this with my brand new MPC PNE RETRO by my side on the way home from the store, super exited to get started! Made a shift from the NI Mashine mk3. Such a great video! Big ups! 👍🏼
The retro is not only nostalgic it’s easier on the eyes. Don’t know why modern aesthetics are all going dark mode; MacOS, Adobe. I’m 54, my eyes can’t take it.😂. Thinking of getting this. Been pretty productive with Maschine and finally distributed/released music, but need to shake things up and get fresh ideas going. The MPC looks like the ticket. It is the original beat making “Maschine” after all.

Do these hiphop kits come with the machine ? . If not , where do you buy them ? Also how do you get samples from ,ie , s3000 to this mcp one . Thanks Elaine , New Punk Army .
The MPC One comes with a powerful sound/drum library created by many top producers. The kits I used in the video are from our official expansion collection. This pack is called Soul Provider Vol 3 which includes 30 + kits ready to load inside the MPC.
Ok I want to understand something : I’ve got a MPCX and my pads seem absolutely not responsive like this one. Am I right ? Last thing, my pads are way low brighter than these one too, right ?

MPC One includes a large collection of kits and instruments from many different top sound designers including MSX Audio who makes the expansion (Soul Provider 3) which was used in this video. MPC one is also a sampler so you can sample any drum sound creating your own libraries. We have over 50+ official Expansions available for MPC inc Marco Polo, Araab Muzik, Decap and many more.
