Jack's Back YAAAA!!!!!!! I've been putting together a small recording setup with my laptop and DAW. I think this MPC Key 37 is first one to tick all boxes for what I want.
You can use those knobs on the right to control the highlighted parameters Jack.
That Rhodes chord progression at 1:42 and the way it's played is super sweet

I finally A/B'ed a Key 61 and the Key 37. In addition to the well documented differences between the two units, no one has noticed that the action is different. The Key 61 has weights under each key which gives a more satisfying playing experience. The 37 has the same keys, but lacks the weights and it feels like a generic $200 midi controller.
61 is on another level to the 37. When you add the software package and increased RAM etc, the 61 is much better value for money (assuming space isn't a major concern)
@@canadianmoose2006 I agree. Other than the compact size and the inclusion of an SD card slot, the 61 to me represents a better value in every way. To buy the sound libraries for the 37 you're looking at a few hundred dollars more and when you contemplate the lack of the extra SSD, the ram... it's a big difference.
The 61 is also the only modern MPC that uses an IEC connector which is both cheaper and easier to replace in a pinch than a proprietary DC adapter.

Yes, Its mpc based. You can have a mpc one+ and a midi keyboard and do the exact same thing

Left Pro Tools over 15 years ago and I'm still gone. That was after the M-Audio M-Powered mess, forcing you to use their interface, and them dropping VSTs among other things.

Ahh, 37 or 61… which one?
Well, it depends on how many space you have, how many money you have... The 61 is more of a higher end model with 4GB of ram, but all the plugins included in its price.

I'd still go an MPC One with a midi controller of your choosing, or you can do what I do and connect two midi controllers and have the ability to play too different instruments at the same time. Eventually I'll probably have a nice weighted one along with an unweighted one
I like this channel and you guys, but can you please change that flabby and distorted intro jingle? It's really irritating.
An ipad and a midi controller has 4x the sounds at 1/4 of the price.

I love andertons and the hosts, but I am yet to see a single critical review out of this channel… it seems like there are rarely ever any real criticisms or critiques and I know the hosts are more than capable of having a nuanced opinion. At least talk about the value proposition of these products and the other options. There is no way all these products can be awesome all the time!
Just head to a local store and try out the product for yourself and make your own subjective evaluation. It's more fun that way

I've been watching for a while, going to Guildford on Friday to pick up a Nord electro 6 and Adam monitors, can't frikkin wait, mostly driven by these videos to buy from them.
Retailers never give reviews, nor should they. They give sales demos.

Modx is not cool in my opinion
Modx Plus sounds way better than this out of the gate.
This sounds very average and I can tell Jack is really underwhelmed. Actually, they sound utterly pooh,less than average. The touchscreen is also not terribly responsive. Only the Mellotron and Solina sounded okay ish.
The Fabric XL stuff, their new piano and electric piano are better than these sounds but you have to pay for them as an add on. When on sale these instruments are reasonably price at full defo less so.
I kind of think for the price these should be free or cheaper. The basic sounds in this unit are properly last generation vst style, pretty lame sounding.
That’s why I use MPC software and a Alesis vi25 keyboard with 16 MPC style pads . I paid 50 bucks for the full MPC software and 40 bucks for the keyboard. I have all these VST in this video along with velvet , wavestation , korg extreme, Xspand , analog lab , purity, arcade , Roland zenology ,etc I can’t think of them all I have all the Dx7 and korg workstation sounds . I have so many sounds that I will never use them all I have over 4k drum sounds . With the software you get to use all of your 3rd party vst

Your hands look so cramped on that little keyboard. I realize it is easy enough to attach an external keyboard via midi, but if you are going to do that it might be better to get a module anyway.
Another MPC revision. Ugly color, lackluster specs, overpriced plugins. So much potential wasted locked down by proprietary corporate greed. They added Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and called it +. Limited RAM, they really are just milking every revision. Next model will have a different color and 1 extra GB of RAM and they'll call it the ++ Edition. I've wanted an MPC One for years but I just can't support them nor do I even feel they're worth a used price.
What a waste of such time and effort in video making and production where this dude did is just explore the patches and made faces. He did not effort in actually showing the gear, what the features are in there?, what other functions it has, ports etc. no, he just wasted our time. Andertons might be a good store but they definitely are not good reviewers of gears. They just promote and never actually take the gear through critical tests, they just promote it while acting like they're testing it.
