- MPC ONE - Making a sample based beat!
It's time to to put the newly announced MPC One to the test for a beat making session.I've only dabbled around with it and this is my first time actually using it for a proper beat.
I'm using a sample and some drum sounds together with the built in instruments on the Mpc One for this track and I think it came out pretty good. The MPC is running in standalone mode and I'm chopping the sample, recording the keyboard parts and everything using nothing but the MPC One from Akai pro and the Komplete M32 keyboard from Native Instruments. I'm finishing the beat off with some cuts using the Traktor Kontrol S4 and my timecoded Technics vinyl setup.

After I graduated college about 8 years ago, I set out to try to make a living being a singer-songwriter, but didn't really have the skills yet to make it happen (I tried to fool myself at the time, telling myself I did). More importantly, what I came to realize was - I was focusing too much on the trying to make it a living and not enough on the music, the process, or the love of making music. Ended up quitting playing music for a few years and was feeling super lost without it.
However, I found you and your channel about six months ago and nothing has inspired me nearly as much as you to just get in there and make that music. Thank you for helping me fall back in love with making music and doing it for the right reasons.

True story...
Back in late 90's I borrowed a friends 808 on a friday evening after work. I get a visitor that Sunday night (pre cell phone days) it was my friend wanting his 808 back. I always love watching your videos man. Your speech sounds so much better. When my dad had eye surgery, he wore an eye patch with a “window”, he looked like freaking Captain Nemo, but It was cool because he could distinguish stuff with that eye too. Maybe it can help you!

The Live used to be $1300+ after tax. Now you can get 1 for like $1100.
With just 2GB of Ram w/no way to upgrade, I still think it's a little over priced. The One @$4-500 would be perfect for what it offers IMO.
