- In which an expert motorcycle mechanic 'helps' me install Motorcycle Larry Risers on my Yamaha FJR.
These Risers are one of the many excellent products available from motorcyclelarry.com.
Note: I have no affiliation with MCL except as a satisified customer. - Авто та транспорт
I had to have two custom pieces made for my risers on my Triumph.
One of the vloggers on here who was a machinist made the pieces out of stainless steel for me.
Having talented friends is awesome.
Very awesome. I would love to have Tracey work on my motorcycle. That is so cool, it was quite a surprise seeing him appear in one of your videos. Caught me off guard.
Such a nice that Busasarusrex! Look forward to meeting you both sometime and seeing that FJR!
Hey I know that guy! I'm glad you finally got your ape hangers on the FJR =)
That was a cool surprise and a nice job lol.
that was great jim, really interesting, busa's definately the man to have around for stuff like that =)
nice video :)
Cool to see other vloggers help each other. What am I thinking? That is what FRIENDS do.
You guys may not know this but what Suzuki was making a design for a bigger scooter than the 400, there engineers were looking for a quality engine to use. There Hayabusa engine was there most reliable engine and just "Cut it in half" to fit the bigger scooter framework. The engine size in reality is 638cc. ( In 2003, the Hayabusa spec was 1299cc) pretty close to half. So the story goes.
The crafstmanship of your moral support was unmatched...Tracy didn't do bad either.
@dogmerr - Flattery. Lots and lots of flattery!
Tracy! woot!
do the mcl risers fit the 2013 fjr with no real serious mods and where do i get them thanks john
Easy! Cake walk
Wow! How'd you get Tracy?
I was looking at those risers too but when MCL said that you needed a special drill or bit I decided to go with the other risers.
Now, if I could have had Busa come to the house then I would have got the 'cadillac' risers.
Please let us know how you like the risers.
Helibar risers don't need to have ignition switch removed and use the original the triple clamp. So much easier to install.
When I hear "Lift and separate" I totally think of something else, lol!
lol "We're in Texas right now, and we just farkled up this bike"
Oh and BTW Tracy, want to come to Tennesse and work on my "Halfabusa" sometime? LOL
Was there ever any follow up on this install, issues, general impressions...
what is your height and reach ...avg ... ir ?
+Finn Green - Reach isn't an issue for anyone on an FJR that I ever heard of, the bars are pretty close together compared to a lot of bikes, especially cruisers and dirt bikes.
These rises change the angle of the bars such that they move forward by 2 degrees. And of course they let the rider sit in a more upright position. I found the bike noticeably more comfortable with the risers installed.
I've had no issues at all since installation.

thanks
curious if anyone had the ability to weigh this bike fully loaded with all three optional cargo boxes loaded and a rider sitting more vertical to determine the actual center of weight at 50 percent dead center over seat or just behind front seat or ...
is part of several drops of this bike while touring tied perhaps to weight shifting 60-40 to the rear tire allowing front tire to slip more than designed?
adding 2up would seem to further question the weight distribution
Is there a published bike's spec center of weight without rider and any load?
How expensive is it to book tracy to Germany to do my work for me? =)
and you SAURUS together in texas. ;P
HAHA, what tha? I didn't see that coming.
lol!
FARKLE worst word EVER!!!! Sounds like a Fuck-up!! MOD, much better sounding.
