The fact that an actual live audience had to choose life or death for someone is actually crazy. The social experiment was a literal name.
as someone who was there, i can tell you that ranboo achieved exactly what they wanted to with this. For that moment, it didn't feel like a show anymore, the weight of the decision felt so real. He did such a great job setting that ending up seriously
I literally went non verbal for about two days afterwards because I felt like I had the weight of someone's actual death on my conscious
@clubweirdnessthe other option was having him become part of the cast until death which, for Ranboo, was much worse as they expressed when he was screaming “just let me die”. So the Chat listened to him and voted for the die option : (. There was no real happy ending, but it’s what felt like the better option to us to the viewers
as someone who was there, I WAS MENTALLY FUCKED. jesus christ ranboo did amazing
@@marianperez9073not only that, he would also be blissfully unaware of what he would be doing while on the show, and they would probably do that thing where ranboo “gets a chance to leave” and makes that option again, and it would keep happening until he dies
When he screamed "LET ME DIE", I can't explain how I felt, just, wow
43:04 then I hope you don’t mind this timestamp

They have repeated this experiement every day. Of every week. For at the very least, 30 years... "Again. And Again. And Again." to quote the Founder.
Ranboo isnt free, even if they die. They all are trapped. Generation after generation.
imma go sob now that makes so much sense
I find it so interesting that the final shot of this series holds on Ranboo, crucified by his own fans, surrounded by a dark and bloody tangle of cords and technology connectiing him to every choice he's made, each of them repeating on loop over and over. Symbolism eat your heart out
Fr i screenshotted that just wow
And man, being called a hero and dyeing in a Christ like pose? That's like some crazy symbolism if you ask me, makes me wonder if there is a deeper meaning to it.
I love that Charlie was actually live on set reacting to colors for 15 minutes before Ranboo shakes him awake. 22:16
I was actually there. I had bad connection issues with Ranboo's stream so I had been watching Charlie's. It was awesome to see Ranboo bust through into the stream and yank him away.
Imagine jyst watching slime’s stream, no absolute fucking clue about ranboo and generation loss, and then this shit happens 💀
Slime went live midstream, and everyone was so confused lol. Mods were deleting messages saying he was live, then minutes later, poof. There he is.
@@nottzo I genuinely wanna see what those people's reactions must have been. Cuz like... there's gotta be some people who were watching and had zero idea about GenLoss beyond "Charlie's in it I guess"
@@SaltySweetRen People in the chat we’re saying is something actually wrong? And freaking out until people started spamming RANBOO STREAM GEN LOSS GO
what i find interesting is how many people want this to continue. It makes sense if you look at it as fiction, but if you look at it as if it were real... those people died. Their minds were stolen and rewitten and erased again and again. we were truly on h's side because we wanted more. more action more episodes more trauma for everyone involved. Social experiments on who?
I'd assumed they were on us.
in terms of voting to live, idk if you were there live but the chat was actually trying to tie the vote to see what would happen and it was actually working too until ranboo started begging to die. you can check and see the die option started to overtake live after he said that. i think a lot of people instinctually voted "live" bc that seems like the better option, with the die options racking up as it became clear what the outcomes were. if live did win, i wouldnt be surprised if they pulled something like ranboo waking up in that cabin again like he did in episode 1.
Undertale moral type shit lmao
DAMNN
@@sirensong1794 Honestly I held off on voting at all until then myself. I didn't wanna kill him but I didn't wanna make him suffer through that (i know it's a fictional scenario but still), but when he asked... Well, at least he wouldn't be suffering after it was done... Except that they brought the others back from the dead (like sneeg and charlie) apparently so who knows...
@@SaltySweetRen Yeah.. That's how I felt.. I am not bad.. I just wanted show mercy and not let them suffer.

Jeebus….
I personally dont think that Skelton was real lol
I love the attention to detail Ranboo puts into his acting, when the box first closes, he doesn’t immediately go limp, he twitches a few times before ultimately dying. And the way the sound just cuts off. Truly a cinematic ending.
Not cinematic enough to look real. One, the blood shouldn’t flow that way. It’s supposed to come from a little more to the side. It also is too clear and dark. Two, Ranboo has A LITERAL METAL MASK. It should interrupt the box closing. 3, if he really died, we should see some ragdoll change in his movement instead of him being frozen. 4, the master’s voice doesnt even sound like it’s real. 5, the twitching looked like it was on purpose. 6, there should be rust on the spikes and box. And the box should make a sound. I dissected all of that from memory. Oh and he should also twitch before the box closes
@@NINJEDIT-Soh be quite, it looked cool and you know it
@@sister_moon yeah it did but i used to fr think he died lol
But i guess if you are a nerd and decide to analyze the scene instead of going into a rabbit hole, kinda easy to belive it aint true
I watched this live. The “Live or Die” scene had me panicking. When the box closed shut, I just sat there in shock. In the end, I understood that living in an endless loop of suffering is a fate worse than death.
i wish i watched it live but it was still an amazing expirence (ik i spelt it wrong its just that im too tiered to fix it)

The fact that Ranboo stops talking after Hetch’s mission is wild. The fact that he tunes out Charlie seems like he’s being controlled by Hetch. He doesn’t even talk, doesn’t react to anything until Charlie dies. He becomes mindless, almost. It could probably be that he was so tired that he just couldn’t talk, but it’s an interesting thought that after Hetch tells him about the button, he stops talking and reacting normally up until the final choice.
Edit: Never mind, he’s just tired-

Ranboo is so vulnerable at the end. The pleas to die if it means they don't have to continue going in a loop forever, the blood seeping out of the mask, but what struck me more was the hole in the mask. They're always so careful not to show their face, so the fact we see a bit of their chin and mouth makes Ranboo more exposed and vulnerable than it would've done with any other actor playing the part. Absolutely brilliant.
I loved the ending where ranboo was so persistent to live but after realizing he'd be trapped in a show being rewritten over and over and wishing to die was absolutely golden, i remember seeing him at 300k subscribers, he's grown so much.

It seems like in this episode there was a lot of foreshadowing leading up to the reveal. Like, their determination to keep Ran in the facility, even though they supposedly wanted to break him out, all of their knowledge of the facility and their ability to "hack" the drones. And then their persistence on Ran continuing to listen to the chat, do whatever they voted on. Crazy stuff, and I didn't even pick up on it until after I watched it

To be fair, Ranboo had every right and reason not to trust chat during this show but it's even better when you put into account that their chat is normally a bunch of chaotic gremlins trying to mess with them.
Man, the gut punch of the overwhelming silence when he dies. He goes from screaming, yelling, and crying, to true silent relief. It's heartbreaking yet so relaxing.

Generation Loss NEEDS to be promoted everywhere. When Ranboo mentioned Generation Loss over the past several months I had no clue what I thought the big project would be. I definitely didnt think it'd be like this. Im almost speechless. The acting was incredible and unique in its own way. The acting was still like everyones personalities but with a unique twist. We got to see something new in everyone. Dont forget, the storyline behind it. I am just so mind blown about this project and hope Ranboo is very proud of themselves and that we are proud of him.
i know what you mean they make it seem like their personalities is just an act also i kinda figured it would be using older things as props like the tv monster was an older tv which i actually had the same one just black but i wasnt expecting them to go that far into the role i was expecting a more silly with hints of horror than silly hints of horror into a nightmare

Throughout the series, I thought Ranboo's acting was sort of bad since I had done acting classes. To learn they were most likely acting like that on purpose until this episode when they were informed that everything was fake and their acting started to seem real... I was shaken. their desperate cries and screams at the end for their suffering to end, made me feel emotions I couldn't understand. On one hand, I wanted them to live because I love Ranboo, but on the other hand, I wanted them to stop suffering. This series was truly a work of art. The silly, funny jokes in the previous episodes, vs the dark dread and horror in the finale. I loved this series. Ranboo and the team did absolutely incredible.
YES i noticed the difference in how realistic the acting was, the detail put into this show is amazing
This is exactly how I felt omg. Like when I first tried to watch it I was like ok this is good but the acting is a bit bad idk and so I stopped watching it for a bit but then I eventually finished the first episode. After that I was like I mean alright I liked it but then I didn't watch the second episode bc like it was 2 hours and I kept thinking of the acting. But today I finally decided to watch it and oh my god the plot twists and acting change was so shocking. I literally had to like pause the video multiple times to just like stare at the screen in shock. And the ending was so good, even though I've seen it on tiktok spoiled for me, plus other parts too, seeing them in the actual video and like understanding what's happening while its going on was so different and a lot more emotional.
Sorry for the paragraph bahaha
OMG SAME!! I could only watch a bit of the first episode bc I was like "okay, kinda silly goofy qhich I like, but I thought this was supposed to be more serious?" AND NOW I FEEL SO DUMB BECAUSE THE END OF EP 2 WAS LIKE HOLY COW THEY WERE ACTING BAD ON PURPOSE OMG

Happy anniversary of the premiere of The Choice on Twitch!!!! It started so much and I absolutely cannot wait for the Founder’s Cut and what else is to come. Congratulations on Generation Loss Ranboo and everyone who helped produce it :]
Charlie staring completely normally at the camera like he's streaming, completely unaware of Ranboo literally pulling on him, is terrifying. He's way too good at staying in character. Also the fact that Charlie was so out of character while "streaming" too- he was practically begging for subs and being a complete jerk to his chat. And yet it was like it was normal.
Also holy hell the choice at the end- I'm not even sure if it was the right one but, it's the one Ranboo wanted. Choosing whether he lives or dies... eugh...
I think that the saddest thing is that it never stopped being scripted and broadcasted and the fact that the people chose for him to *die* . That was sad
Bro mans wanted to die at this point
Shows that the majority of humans aren't as stupid and unempathetic as people make it out to be. They didn't want someone to suffer eternally, only being able to scream in his own head as he's stuck in a body he no longer controls.
We chose Die because we didn’t want Ranboo to suffer. We did it because we care. Of course, we didn’t want to, but it was the right thing to do in that scenario.

I think a lot of the audience was weighing the ethics about this whole ending.
If you choose "live", Ramboo survives but lives as a slave of entertainment possibly for the rest of his life.
If you choose "die" you're killing an innocent man who desperately wants to live. Just not if he is forced to hurt and kill others to do it.
It's an interesting dilemma that could have gone either way and the votes seemed really divided up until the end.
Also a personal theory (SPOILERS): Ramboo's mask doesn't light up at all this entire episode up until the very final scene right after he takes a bow, so I think he was being controlled during that entire finale and Hatch grabbing him and the struggle was the final bit of a self-control Ranboo had left before he lost complete control.
I haven't seen a single indication that Ranboo 'wanted' to die in any of these episodes. He wanted to stop, and he was sending subtle signals to the audience like with his SOS tapping on his leg in Ep2 but I never saw even a hint that he wanted to die specifically. Also this entire episode, he's figuring out that all of them are being controlled and manipulated but even after figuring out that they're completely stuck, he still tries everything to get out alive... That is until the very ending when his mask lights up.
When the mask isn't on, Ranboo is asking to live but to leave the show. He's not asking for death until Hetch asks him to sway the audience and only then does the mask light turn on and he begs the viewers to kill him. I don't think that was him talking. I think he was being controlled again and forced to say it.
Why Hetch would want Ranboo dead is not clear to me, but it could have been Ramboo's rather eratic behavior this episode and his focus on survival rather than making it interesting to the viewing audience (ex: ripping charlie away from his computer and smashing the webcam, ignoring the audience poll with the access codes, running away from 'Security' without waiting for the camera drone, etc). Maybe Hatch saw that he wasn't going to get Ranboo to cooperate with future projects so took control at the end and rigged the votes to get rid of him in a way that seemingly considers the audience poll but was actually rigged from the start.
Just a personal theory i guess
that could be true but i dont think it is bc while obviously ranboo doesnt WANT to die, no one in this situation wants to, he also voices that while hes tied up, saying "please just let me go i wont tell anyone". he only yells that he wants to die after its clear its the only way hes truly getting out, and he seems very emotional and breaking down. i dont really think taking into account that he wouldnt want to die matters bc this is an incredibly stressful situation. i also think the mask is flashing to represent an inbetween of "if you pick live, he'll go back to being controlled"
idk i think it would take a bit of pizazz out of the ending choosing to die rather than being used as a puppet for entertainment is striking and definitely hits different when you take into account the culture around streamers and other social media figures and how toxic it can be.
@@sirensong1794 yeah definitely. I completely agree that this situation is horrific and would be distressing for even the strongest people in the world but Ranboo even says, "you were controlling me". We know he's been controlled but as far as which actions were or were not is a little unclear, but i think we get the actual Ranboo when the mask lights are off because that seems to be in a majority of the scenes where he's just being... Well... 'Ranboo'. His mask was much more active in previous episodes because he was still very much in the game and playing the part he was assigned to play. There was still some element of control over him because he was unaware of the 4th wall or the audience or the fact that there is a camera/drone following him every step of the way but as soon as that gets introduced, it's like he's woken up.
Also there's at least one time in the series where Ranboo tries to rip the mask off but Hatch talks him out of it, reasoning that it's the only way they can communicate, so he leaves it on which I completely understand because it's like you say: this is a very stressful situation, he's not thinking clearly, and if someone offered to help them get out a lot of people would also do the same. This is reasonable to me, but i think Hatch was playing off of that because it would also be clear to Ranboo that he needs as much help as he can get. Hetch isn't there to physically stop him from taking it off but instead talks him out of it and reasons that it's the only way they can communicate.
This i think is the first indication that Hetch isn't who he claims because we've seen multiple times in the series that Hetch can reach him through TV and computer screens, he has multiple drones running around the building with Ranboo, and if he needs to, he's very capable of getting Ramboo's attention from a distance. For example, in the office, Hetch could have pooped up on one of the many computers and talked to him from there. It would be less efficient to communicate this way, but for him to say that Ranboo "needs" to wear the mask so they can communicate is just a flat out lie. This is another reason I believe the mask has some alternative purpose than just replacing Ramboo's normal face mask (which is cracked open at the end so we can see his mouth and jawline so no longer functions as a perfect face mask but still he wears it. Also the frankly alarming number of wires wrapping around his head would be a bit overkill if they were only powering the lights)
I could be entirely wrong about the mask but I truly think Hatch's motivation for killing Ranboo at the end makes sense 🤔
so we didn’t have to kill him?!?!? THE ONLY REASON I VOTED DIE WAS BC HE ASKED ME TOO-
@@rollureyes69420 i think it depends on the details that we as the audience had to figure out before getting to that point :(
If Ranboo really was the one talking at the end then you can discuss both sides of the poll and try to come to a consensus as to whether or not it was the right answer but if Ranboo wasn't saying that of his own free will, then it begs the question: how could anyone answer that poll?
If he had no control over his own voice then we can never know if that's actually what he wanted. Hetch could have been doing that as a trick to make us as the audience think it's what Ranboo wanted when in reality it wasn't, and if that was his goal then he succeeded. A majority of the viewers voted to kill him according to the poll
You 2 are brilliant at looking into the lore jesuss

And god am I grateful for that! When they were screaming to be let die I was begging for the audience to let them.
It all comes together and you understand so much by the end, it was really well done.
Sucks that I missed this when it happened, and that it's over, but woah was it incredible.
The camera slowly moving backwards after the spiked box closed on their head really tied the whole death scene together.
What I especially liked about this episode was Ranboo stabbing the employee and throwing the knife down, them bowing before being taken, them crying to be let go, screaming to be let die, and the overall acting/production of the 'The Choice'.
Amazing stuff, this is my favourite episode of my now favourite show.

I have never seen a chat more divided than the chat when the final vote ended.
Some people were asking for a redo, some were pleading with us saying "Why did you do this" (I saw someone say "You killed him. Are you happy now?"), some wanted us to try for a 50/50, and the rest of us were just panicking and/or sobbing.
At the start of the vote, nearly everyone voted to let Ran live, but as they pleaded with us more and more to not put them through this, more and more people moved over to the option of execution. It's human nature to want to save people, which is what I think drove many people to vote Live, since even if you're suffering you're still alive. But if a pet is sick, you tend to put it down to spare it from the pain. Killing Ran was what they wanted and what we gave them. We were never going to get 50/50.
God I love this series. My obsession with human behaviors is finally useful.

I would have voted live tbh just to see what would happen... which makes me want more bascially im viewer just like they intended

Me watching the second episode: okay a little horror
Me watching the last episode: ...
Dude ranboos screams of terror Made me actually cry

Same! In episode one, I was like "this isn't quite what I expected, but alright." I watched episode two and went "Okay now this is a bit messed up." This episode? Holy cow! I knew how it was going to end and still! I can understand why Ranboo's been excited about this project for ages
I was pouring in tears bro he has such good acting

Exactly, Generation Loss! Instead of quality, it's how funny the episode is! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Btw I was your 1k like
the acting at the end was so good I was widening my eyes in shock. Like “LET ME DIE” “I CANT LIVE WITH THIS” “LET ME GO” was so cool. I had so much fun watching this

but that cameraman-
DAMN HE RUN FAST!

No one outruns the cameraman
This was absolutely incredible Ranboos acting was mind blowing it was honestly so fucking good. But I also feel that the plot of the show is strongly aimed towards streamers. Because it shows how much a live audience affects and can so easily control these streamers and it is honestly mind blowing. It also really shows how some streamers have to make a whole different personality while streaming because they are afraid of being themselves bc of how brutal people are . It has been so awesome getting to see these things within the community.
Hi again XD and agreed!!
Heya!! XD fr this is honestly one of the best horror series I have ever seen
i think so too honestly. also the fact that the series is called "Generation Loss" too has heavy implications towards that
@@akiraheike yes it really does us boobers are smart lol I don’t think a whole bunch of people actually looked into the plot they were only there for ranboo and the horror comedy parts but it’s cool to see others indulge in the plotting of the show
LMFAO IT WAS BACKSEAT GAMING THE WHOLE TIME :O
This is the most depressing thing I’ve seen all month, but that doesn’t change the fact that I LOVE ALL OF THIS!! EVERY SINGLE LITTLE INCH, NOOK AND CRANNY OF DETAIL y’all put into this. The acting, the props, the locations, EVERYTHING. Ranboo’s crying was the salt in the wound I already gave myself, and I love it. I am more than proud, I am so far a loss of words, but tears rolling down me, as my body is shaking, I enjoyed Generation loss. It truly went down with a bang!
Wouldn't say it went down at all, because there is a high chance of a second series, or "generation". At the very very end it shows the tape of this generation being put on a shelf with other tapes, implying that there are other generations. He also said in one of his streams there will be a second series if he can afford it using the profits from the first series. No hate btw :D
@@Nulify-id2in ranboo has said this is just the beginning tbf

BRO I AM FUCKING S H A K I N G HOW WAS THIS SO GOOD EVERY PERSON THAT TOUCHED THIS WORK WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT AT THEIR JOB I CANT WAIT TO NEVER FORGET ANY OF THIS
The series going from off putting and awkward to the final bit where everything is so high quality was INCREDIBLE
You know how in the game on the genloss website there is a box covering Ranboo's head? I might be overthinking this, but what if that was not a censor bar, but the box that crushed his head in the end. My theory is that the game was actually Ranboo purgatory after he died. But HEY that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY! Seriously though, this was the coolest horror series ever. It was so much better than a lot of the horror movies coming out today because it isn't just smothered in a bunch of death, blood, and gore to be scary. I can't wait to see Gen. 2 if it ever comes out one day, which it was a implied that there might be one. I'd buy merch to support if I could.
The game is a metaphor for the streaming industry. Either you eternally provide entertainment for the audience, until they don't find you fun to watch anymore. Or you "die", or in other words get forgotten by the masses.
Also I think you're right about the box on his head. I think it was forshadowing to what would happen if we choosed for Ranboo to die.
ive seent hings where its like, what if he never actually died due to the box??? like WOAH hoenestly this was amazing though
TO ADD ON
I feel like no matter what happened, they would have ended up with the same fate
@@z0mbiebxy they did say there was a seperate ending for Ranboo having lived though. So I doubt it.
The ending made me tremble. I honestly felt like throwing up. The only reason I voted for him to die was because I doubted he could ever escape. The mall could have big one big set. The people who froze at first probably could have ran at him at any time. There are thousands of ..once people? Who could have chased him and he wouldn’t have been able to survive. Th e only reason he gained control is because they ALLOWED him to gain control. The entire time we thought we could break him out and we were just watching a script. The. Entire. Time. It makes me shiver just thinking about it. Ranboo’s acting at the end made my hand shake when I chose die. But I didn’t want his character to face that every day that mindless control forever. No one should experience that. Yet the ethics still remained I think the thing that made me make up my mind was when he screamed, “Please just let me die!” But then re watching it I realized something when he begged for the viewers to kill him his mask light was ON he could have been in control while begging for him to be killed meaning he could have wanted to live…so dark. Great job to everyone working on this project!
Edit: Ranboo just explained in a recent stream that the mask flashing means he’s receiving the memories of his past life. Which in some ways is even more horrific. The entire time he was having memories of his past moments in life and he was begging to end it all so he wouldn’t continue to be tortured.
I think that he was crying because he didn’t actually want to die, but he was being forced to beg for death
@@FNaF_Boi oh that makes a lot of sense. That’s just messed up.
I know this hadn't been said yet when you commented, but, in his recent stream Ranboo said that the flashing mask meant his memories were returning. I think that's an even worse implication than them being controlled; that he was remembering his old life, everything, and still begging to die. Absolutely amazing, how much effort and detail was put into it
OH SHIT
no way you reacted like that.
What was that at 16:51?! 'Looks like they upped security since-' Uh, dude? Since when? Isn't Ranboo 'special'? Sounds sus
Alternative ending: if the audience chose live, they would have "guards" passing him away, kicking and screaming for help, we dont know yet what happens after that, but this "theory" is confirmed

Second episode when Charlie screamed was like "Holy Fuck, Realisation-"

*for lmao
(Spoiler Alert) OH MY LORD THIS WAS AWSOME. At first is was so goofy I had trouble paying attention, but things got real REAL quick. A couple of things I would like to point out : In this episode the bucket of blood was labeled "slime". The glitch in the operating room showed Charlie screaming and blood, that was what was really going on. He was screaming the whole time. The slime was is blood in reality. Was the demon covered in blood? Was the dish Ranboo made organs? There was toys inside Charlie- Was he forced to swallow those? When the hat was put on Sneeg he saw what was going on. He saw he was next to a dead body. He saw Charlie dead on the table. He tried to run but the workers caught him and used the mask to factory reset him so he was normal. Niki was crying and screaming the whole time until she was put on the spot. Austin was aware the whole time, and he wanted to leave. Wanted to run. And they killed him. This whole time, Ranboo couldent see what was going on, and they made sure of that. When they touched the back of his head in episode 2, he was acting normal again and like an npc. His mask light up at the end- maybe he was being controlled again there? He wanted DEATH. The acting was top tier for EVERYONE. And the hole in Ranboos mask- That made him feel more vulnerable to us when he has NEVER shown anything like that- and the blood and the almost tied vote and the credits-
This was all so, so awesome and excuse my rambling but I wanted to say a few of the things I saw. So much horror, its so awesome. Great work from everyone involved, PLEASE ADD YOUR THEORYS IN THE REPLYS I NEED TO HERE IT!
fun fact! if the poll was tied he probably would have still died
@jellydumb5608 SHEER BORDOM AND HYPERFOCUSING
And in the end the spiked cage thing that killed Ranboo created a black censoring box around his face like in the death from the "kill them or you" question in the inauguration. Half of the showfall mask logo creates the 4 generation loss symbol as well, minus the black rectangles. speaking of which, i think the rectangles are blacked out television screens or maybe even the outlines of caset tapes? Just theories and observations :) Ran went above and beyond with the incredible acting and production quality, kudos to them and everyone involved!
I was almost certain that it may be a mask off event but I love this entire thing and the hole it struck me when I saw it and I realized there wasn't a mask underneath ^^ I'm proud of Ranboo for how far he's come in all of this but especially how much he feel safe around us to take off the items that make him comfortable and still be comfortable
My lingering thought is what would have the key left by the puzzler led to? The final message was “the truth will set you free,” which initially I thought meant the key would lead to an exit, but thinking about it now it was really foreshadowing to how Ranboo knowing the truth…ultimately set him free. Freaking brilliant. The Iron Maiden-esk trap he was in at the end had him in a crucified position, and it really does look like a box censor-which honestly makes the whole thing scarier. I noticed in the puzzler’s in memorabilia window there was a flower bouquet with a letter that said “to dad” on it. Did someone take the time to program a family line, or is there another person who is aware? If people can die but be brought back for the purpose of the show, what would have happened if the characters stayed alive? With the moving wall, if all three of them had lined up behind each other they could have all survived. Niki had a jacket on-if she had tied it around the wound and kept pressure on it, it wouldn’t be to far fetched to think she could have made it with additional assistance. And the anvil really took its time, it could have been dodged. It’s also good to notice Charlie was the only person from the cast that we see in the streamer court as I’ll call it (or should I just call it the food court sense that’s where they are and ultimately they are food for thoughts…)-is everyone else dead dead? Did they serve their final uses?
I’ve never had so many questions just continue to appear before regarding anything, this is so exciting honestly XD
I wonder if the hacker was under an influence the entire time, if everything was of his own free will, or if he was on this project from the very beginning. I don’t think he was under an influence per say, specifically because when beginning to explain to Ranboo things very vaguely at the beginning of the episode, he explicitly mentioned that all of the deaths were real and then as soon as Ranboo found the first exit and started to leave-because if everyone he wants to save is really dead there’s nothing to gain staying in that place-the hacker immediately gave a reason to continue the hero’s journey by suddenly saying they’re all alive. I think that they all were dead, but he strategically rebooted only Charlie back up as he was the closest with Ranboo in this particular experiment, appearing multiple times in each episode and thus giving a trust boost to the hacker and further encouraging Ranboo to get where he wants him to be.
The mousetrap game metaphor is just fantastic, and furthermore having the actual trap being found INSIDE Charlie further elaborates to me that Charlie was the only one to come back alive to lure Ranboo into the trap at the end. I have so much more thoughts but if I keep going absolutely no one will read this comment so I’ll leave it at that XD
Watched this for the first time about a month ago. Not been a fan of Ranboo’s for too long but you can tell this man is a freaking genius.
This show blew my mind. Going from haha funny weird game show in episode one, to huh this is getting kinda sketch and violent in episode two, to oh my goodness this is so real and so terrifying in episode three. It was amazing. The build-up, the dread, the realization that it had been scripted this entire time. Also from a set standpoint the ending scene was amazing. This was a wild ride and huge thanks to the hard work the team put in to make this. Absolutely fantastic.
The bow at 38:08 is PERFECT. It’s as if they were saying “and I have won.” not knowing Hetch was behind him, in the room to the “exit” is beautiful.
also it was a reveal that he still wasnt in control. why would he bow if he was trying to escap.
Its also a reference to the Truman Show! :D

38:20 - start of the last scene
40:20 - "Let me go!!"
43:00 - "Let me die!!"

Honestly, Ranboo looked hot at 34:20 when they stabbed the guy
I was honestly confused at first as to how this was horror. It seemed like just a joke between friends with some scary undertone. But it got so much deeper in the end. I realized WE were controlling Ranboo. WE were helping Hetch’s plan. The “Social Experiments” might as well have been on us. The glitches in the 2nd episode showed what was really happening, but I didn’t get it. I thought it was just an extra layer to the story. Which it was, but not in the way I thought. When Snegg’s hat was put back on, somehow he saw the show for what it was. He saw Charlie dead. He heard Niki sobbing. He saw Frank, a *corpse* sitting next to him. Snegg tried to get away but the workers caught him. Then he was back in the show. Just like that. In the 2nd episode as well, when they were in the closet, Ranboo was constantly saying generic NPC phrases. Over and over again. The guy who said he had a wife and children, I don’t remember his name, he saw the show for what it was. He wanted to leave. He wanted to *live* . But Ranboo went through. There’s so much to this storyline, more then I can comprehend, but it’s absolutely amazing. The way the story was thought out, the true feelings behind it. The acting, the props, just everything was amazing. It’s so much better then most horror movies nowadays. It wasn’t just constant jump scares, gore, violence or anything like that, it was a masterpiece. I understand now why it took so long for it all to go down.
I am curious though, what would’ve happened if the viewers chose for Ranboo to live? (I wasn’t there, though I wish I was) Like what would Hetch have done? I know Ranboo would’ve just been put back into the simulation, but what would the scene have looked like? Would he have been instantly released? Would he thank the viewers? Would he beg for a redo? Or would he just have been knocked out?
There’s so many what ifs, and that’s what I love about this. There’s so many rabbit holes to go down, so much more to dig into.
Massive props to Ranboo and every person on his team. Everyone who helped, or even supported the idea from the very beginning. This was amazing, and I hope that the story will continue someday.
(I found it!! its in the first linked stream vod!!! he says that his character would've been freed from the murder contraption and then the showfall media workers slap a showfall mask on him and drag him off kicking and screaming)
Thanks you letting me know! Even if he lived it still would’ve ended badly
I want to see what would happen in a 50/50 scenario
I wonder if sneg has done this before and when he saw it he knew it was his only chance of freedom but in the end he failed and if it's TRUE how many time has he been though it?
hearing Ranboo just swear occasionally isn't something i thought i'd be excited about-
same lol
agreed 😭
I literally said to the screen "stop swearing!" because it was so weird hearing him say them, but its still cool
ikr he was waiting all along
timestamp?
I love how the generation loss aspect is how every single time they are rebooted and do another episode, the 'actors' lose themselves just a little bit, like how Ranboo and Sneeg were so apathetic to people dying in the 2nd episode. How many redos until they lose themselves entirely? Have they already lost themselves entirely? This is so fucking cool
36:17 I love how the employees start spilling out of the doors on set even though the set was shown to be empty. Super cool use of the camera angle change to represent a break in reality.
Bro. The meaning behind this project is imaculate. It convenys how streamers are seemingly bound to their carrears. Either they suffer in streaming or are "dead" by being forgotten. And the indecision within the chat at final minute really struck me. Like its the whole battle of what does an audeince value more: more content or a creaters wellbeing? Will an audience be happy and undertsnading of a creator when the choose to leave, or will they keep demanding more content until they eventually get tired of the content. The amount of thought put into this message is outstanding
I feel like Ranboo committing to his acting despite second degree burns nails this one home (I do not agree with his choice to keep going I think he should have stopped immediately after he noticed it), and yeah if there's a person who values content over that creator's wellbeing they are a piece of shit lmfaooooo-
and also a person who DID choose his own mental health over fame on youtube is Boffy! He made the right choice, and if anyone reading this becomes a bit cc in the future please for the love of god value yourself over your content, it's not worth it. Seriously. You can make content whenever but you always come first. ALLLWAYYYSS. ALWAYS.
that whole entire video had my heart racing, charlie’s screams were so real it was just perfect, and the way ranboo went from “let me go” to “LET ME DIE” was so good, this series really had thrill to it :)
holy crap. This was insanely tragic. Very well done, but I just feel empty after watching this. It went from "funny slime man in a cabin" to "Ranboo begs for his death so he doesn't have to live a hollow existence of entertainment against his will." I'm almost glad that I wasn't here live so that I didn't have that responsibility weighing on me. But regardless, lack of action is an action itself. Just being there and choosing to not intervene would still be impactful in its own way.
Thing is, looking at this whole thing, I think it’s a bait choice. Ranboo will live like Charlie lived, like Sneeg lived. He’ll still be recast, and he’ll be repurposed like them.
The acting in this episode was INSANEEE the ending literally scared me from their screaming. By far the best horror project I have seen! I can’t wait to see what happens going forward!

I just wanted to point out that right about here [ 37:48 ] the subtitles say “Thank you… Thank You” and it’s probably just a coincidence or an inaccuracy in the subtitle reading but I just think it’s insanely cool and perfectly timed. It almost implies that Showfall is thanking us. We helped Ranboo get to that point. To the box. We helped them kill Ranboo. And omfg the emptiness and guilt I felt for days. My breath was caught in my throat while the credits rolled. I was silent. Ran was definitely successful when saying they wanted to have the viewers feel hollow inside after. I never thought I’d have the fate of someone’s life or death on my hands. Even if gl!Ranboo isn’t real, it sure did feel like it. And it sure did feel like I had the blood on my hands.

Edit: a lot of people in the comments are saying “hopefully there’s still a season 2 considering we killed the main character” but… personally (theory time!!!) I don’t think Ranboo WAS the main character-at least not in a traditional sense. I think they were the medium through which we as the audience saw the story, and now that they’re dead we’re going to either get a new medium, or, based on Ranboo’s usage of “generation loss”, we’re going to go back and see how Ranboo got to that mall (he did say he had no memory of his life before the cabin)
youre coping, his acting is ass. HUHH?? WHAT?? i dont know... HUH?? is his acting.
