A bit disappointed in the battery, but that is my use case (very mobile during the day, gaming nights and weekends) - but still good to know.
The MECH-15 G3 Ultra Performance 15.6" has similar specs - but a bigger battery - if the performance ends up the same, it might be a better option for some people.

@@Josh-99 as holder of a bachelor's and masters degree, and a fairly successful career where I barely used either, I have to agree that the only reason to get a formal education is for a career. If you want to learn something, it's on the internet and it's free to everyone. Degrees are just for checking boxes so you can get an interview.

Going into the college experience with the mindset of "I hAvE tO gRoW uP aNd GeT a JoB!" is guaranteed to make college miserable. There's so much more to those 2 to 4 years: meeting new people, taking classes on subjects you are interested in, learning how to think critically, and, if attending a residential college, learning to live on your own in a relatively safe and secure environment.
In other words, the experience exists for its own sake, and those who want to go to college to study language arts, humanities, and other degrees that don't have clear paths to stable careers shouldn't be dissuaded from their path.
If you WANT to go to college, go to college. You don't have to onboard massive debt to do so -- there are plenty of perfectly serviceable local and state universities. If you DON'T want to go to college, then don't; it's no guarantee that it's going to get you a stable job, especially in this corporo-centric political environment where unions and worker's rights are basically non-existent.

Keyboard is exactly the same as the medion erazer I bought back in 2017. I think that was a sweaty laptop nerd style laptop too, but this one is so much thinner and of course more powerful. I'm excited with where laptops are atm and where they're heading

The function to disable half of the track pad is actually quite useful for ppl like me, whose palms' parts close to thumb would sometimes accidentally trigger the track pad.

I have an Asus g56jk gaming laptop from a lot of years ago and the speakers sound magnificent.
I never seen any other laptop with such speakers
Be aware that Eluktronics has no clue when they will get you your laptop. I emailed them for two weeks to try and get an update on my order and I kept getting a generic “Be Patient” I finally decided to call and see if I could get any more information out of them and I got the same “be patient” line. When I told the representative Kieth that, that was not acceptable because they already had my money, and all I was looking for was some kind of update, Kieth HUNG UP THE PHONE. I quickly called back and cancel my order. I want do business with a company that thinks this is a OK response.

I just loved the passive aggressive zoom-in on the speakers :D *BUT* having said that I do feel sorry for them :(
The reason why there is an option for disabling Half track pad, coz right half of that huge trackpad is exactly under the keyboard typing portion where your palm rests. So, in a typing/work session, to avoid accidental movement, that option is critical to have.

The half trackpad button is for if you accidently move the mouse with your thumb when using the keyboard while gaming like an FPS. Good feature.
I think that the reason why you can disconnect one side of the mousepad is that so if you rest your palm on it, it won't move the mouse cursor; could come in handy when gaming and typing papers.

This is not affordable or cheap but any means. The new ASUS G15 is $1700 at BestBuy. The configuration you mention in the video(ryzen 5800+3080) is $2499 with only 512gigs of storage. If you want 1tb it's $2699......
For $1700 I can get a reputable brand with the ryzen 5900 and 1tb of storage.

The feature to disable a half of the trackpad is probably so that there is not trackpad input when gaming with the keyboard. Like when your palm touches the trackpad. I can see why it's a good feature

The fan size is the reason it stays cool! The Asus g751jt with the 970m barely heats up to 60f degrees when gaming for hours. Open it up and notice the size of the fans! They are huge! Same design was used for then Asus g752 with the 1070.

I dont have the lapop in hand, but my guess if the partially disabled track pad is because it is not centered below the space bar, maybe it is for better palm rejection, basically just rejecting the whole right side that you're likely resting your palm on
