Fun fact: If you beat Gabby and Ty 255 times in Emerald, their cycle will stop and they’ll just keep showing up on Route 111, so you can just leave the route and come back and rebattle them there! I legit just found this out from Johnstone’s Emerald natdex vid lol
Same thing happens in Ruby & Sapphire.
I stumbled into this in my Ruby savefile, best way to grind!
I did this by accident as a kid and thought it was intentional. Didn't know it was a byte overflow.
Lil kid me had infinite patience and played way too much.

They have guts breaking into the space center and watching an awesome legendary fight
My favorite Gabby and Ty would be the Adventures Manga. They follow Ruby and (to a lesser extent) Sapphire as they even help with the Aqua and Magma Crisis. It's really great and they make great additions to the cast of supporting characters

I only wish we could’ve seen them using their Pokémon in the Manga. There was a brief shot of Ty sending out a Magnemite in a battle against Team Magma in Rusturf Tunnel, but that was it.

@@staydetermined6717 No one's in the Ruby/Sapphire Arc. It was just a wild one that foresaw the Groudon and Kyogre Incident and wanted to help the humans
Another small detail, If you defeat them before they use any moves they will mention it in the interview
I think it's shown _very_ briefly in the video at 6:37.
I also remember battling Gabby and Ty multiple times to level up my team and get some money. I always did the interview afterwards.
Gabby & Ty are also prominent supporting characters in the Ruby/Sapphire arc of the Adventures Manga, trying to solve the conspiracy behind Team Magma & Team Aqua. They even tag along with Ruby for a bit, hoping to get some info out of him after he got tangled up with Team Magma in Slateport.
Reporters in Japanese Media tend to be the best background characters

These two felt like friends to me growing up playing Ruby. Every time I saw them when I was biking through the routes, I would always stop for a quick battle.
I liked that their Magneton evolved into Magnezone in the remakes. Gabby and Ty are also the reason why I had an Exploud and Magnezone on my Palatium team. Thier names were Witwe and Shofy.
I quoted gabby's "short and sweet" so much for no reason as a kid
I love how they got their own episode in Generations
Anime where 2 reporters like them find out the truth on how people have started to awaken powers, and have to find a way to get the truth out there without getting killed
Don't forget about the wacky man in the Mauville Pokémon Center who also shows up on TV with you! There are six different things he can do with you, and if you trade Records with another trainer, their guy will show up in your game! It's that classic Gen Pokémon genius I miss the most

When I first saw Gabby's over-world sprite, I thought that she was a toddler with a lollypop: her hair was short, the microphone was right up against her mouth, and the white pants kinda looked like a diaper. Whenever I see that sprite to this day, I fondly remember playing Ruby version for the first time and having funny little experiences like that.
In RBY, I thought the guard at Cerulean Cave was wearing a tall black fur hat like a British royal guard 😂 the sprite head blended into the cave entrance, so my small child mind made up its own logic.
I used to farm these guys for Exp to evolve Pokémon all the time lol

The episode of Generations starring these two was by far my favorite. I didn't care much for Generations as a whole, but this was the one episode that genuinely left me wanting more. Sadly, with it being nearly eight years since it came out, I doubt that cliffhanger will ever be resolved.
One other thing with their interviews, if you trade with another player the last of your interviews is shared and can pop up on TVs of other players and you can get theirs.
One thing that wasn't mentioned was that after Team Magma/Aqua steals one of the colored orbs from Mt. Pyre and announces Slateport City as their next target, heading over there will lead to you coming across Captain Stern being interviewed by Gabby and Ty outside Slateport Harbor. In Pokémon Emerald, the Magma Hideout must be cleared as well in order for this interview to occur.
What I really liked about them is that since it's a double battle it was really easy to teach moves to a Smeargle by using Sketch on your own moves.
Back when I was younger I didn't like reading text, the only reason I knew the npc were interviewing me was because they were obviously reporters, I just wanted to get back to playing so I asked my cousin to pick random answers. These Hoenn videos make me regret not appreciating these little details when I still had my old cartridge especially now that the switch games are sub-standard.
The vision for your channel sounds pretty cool, I feel like there’s a lot of aspects of Pokémon that go untalked about

I mean, 10 tears olds are some of the target audience so...
that generations episode is something i didn't know about but hearing about it and seeing their designs was great! made me simp for gabby for her design and passion for her work lol

I spent way too much time fighting this pair.
Anyone else used to just grind levels using the Gabby and Ty method? Also in one run I kept getting destroyed by Ace/ Cool Trainer Brooke and her Milotic that almost became a Miltank situation.
I remember back when I used to farm these two with the amulet coin for easy cash, nearly 10k pokedollars every battle.

I used to have 2 Level 57 Nincada named “FUCKHEAD!” and “DICKLICK!” that I used specifically for battling these reporters so I could mix records with my sister and have her freak out when it popped up on her in-game tv. Good times.

Gabby & Ty must be the trainers I fought the most often across the whole franchise due to Gen 3 grinding. I always felt bad at how disappointed Gabby seems when you decline the interview as she's so so excited for me to say something like "Suction-cups", but I decline and she's like "...Oh...". I'm sorry Gabby I just needed your exp for my Beldum to level up, please forgive me!
Hey guys I'm here to report what seems to be a glitch about gabby and ty. So basically I can't rematch them anymore, and no it's not the 255 rematch glitch. Anyone knows what's going on?
