If I lived with you I would weigh 500lbs because I can see that you are an excellent cook and everything looks so yummy. I have watched many of your videos and you are an expert cook and actually a chef and cook all the things I love to eat. God bless you and thank you for teaching me so much about all the different dishes that you prepare.

Yummmmm! Good to know about Liquid Smoke- that’s a new addition for me. I love onion & garlic too. Recently I started adding a chopped onion, sautéed in an iron skillet with a little butter, at the end of cooking my greens. My grandma taught me to “ put a lil sugar & salt in everything”. I also found a Ham-based Better than Bullion for those who don’t have pork restrictions. I use it & the chicken. Thank you for your hard work & easy to understand directions!

I love collard greens so much. They are my absolute favorite vegetable. My mommas collards are the best, but I think everyone says their mommas food is the best lol I can not wait to try these. I’m so glad your channel appeared on my feed.

Was happy to see that you freeze your greens.... my sisters don't. I had cooked some collards one year, and it snowed, that was too much work to throw them away, so I froze them and months later when I saw them in the freezer, I heated them up... and tasted them and started crying.... because they were going to be gone. Now, I freeze them all the time.

Turkey legs (Smoked) at the bottom of the pot cook for about 2 hours. Add collards and seasonings 2 hours maybe 2 1/2 hours. Total cooking time. 4 1/2 hours. Long time cooking. Thank you for the recipe and the time. I can smell them cooking now.

Hi Miss Donna good night this is Jenifer the no great American cook. Thank you soooooo much for this Collard green recipe. I have never heard or seen that leafy vegetable growing up in my country. when I came to this country years ago the only thing I heard about it is that it was bitter. I have never eaten it or tried to cook. Last Monday a friend who does organic gardening gave me a bundle and told me to go home and cook it .I protested telling he I didn't know what to do with it. I left it in the fridge until friday. Not wanting it to spoil and be thrown away I went on UA-cam put your name in with how to cook collard greens. Thank you Thank you Thank you it was a hit. My husband is enjoying every bit of it. You are a wonderful teacher and I am officially calling you my big sister. I love you sis thanks again for all your help. Please say hi to Dude # 1.

Ms. Donna, I too use liquid smoke in my greens just a little because it is powerful. OMG, now I want some greens 🥬 and homemade corn muffins. I think I can wait until Nov. I truly enjoy watching you cook it reminds me of when I use to watch my Mom as she cooked for all the holidays; how I miss those days. Now I’m doing all the cooking and I won’t complain. 😃
Love & Blessings to you and the family 💕🙏🏽💕

Everybody cook their Collard Greens different 😀. I use diced green/ red bell peppers, Smoked turkey legs/ wings, diced onions, sea salt a little, black pepper and Wiley's Eat Your Greens Seasoning. I add this about 10 mins before Collards are done. Delicious 😋😋👍💯.Ms. Donna I will try your recipe also. Like to try different recipes.

I like to use pork but now I have family friends that don't eat pork so I use smoked turkey legs or wings. I think the idea of using smoked turkey legs is a good one. I only ever use smoked ham hocks, but the turkey is what I will try the next time. I’ve been using the Watkins chicken soup base because it is low in sodium. Do your u ever add a little vinegar? We always add vinegar to our collards.
