I have seen a Popeyes chicken employee coming out of the bathroom with his apron on. He went behind the counter, took the raw chicken from the plastic bucket pan with his hands, dipped it in the flour and dropped the chicken in the flour and then the deep fryer. I also saw similar thing from the Waffle House. One of the cooks came from the bathroom with his apron still on, went behind the counter and started cooking. Hopefully he washed his hands in the bathroom.

Potato salad is one of my dishes to make for our Thanksgiving dinner, cookouts and any other gatherings that we have requiring it. I use all purpose white potatoes or red potatoes. Russets get too mushy for me. I use Hellman’s Mayo, a couple of squirts of mustard for color and no sugar. The other ingredients are about the same as yours perhaps different amounts. I do believe however that there are different strokes for different folks. So prepare yours according to what you and your family like.

Quite a while ago, a friend gave me a new way to make potato salad. After cooking the potatoes, you put them in a bowl, then pour some French dressing on them. Refrigerate overnight. Then next day add vegetables you like, hard boiled eggs, and bind it all together with mayonnaise. Salt and pepper to taste. We love it, but when I bring it to a picnic or when I have it at my parties, some people won’t try it! They’re missing out on a delicious potato salad!

This is my first time here, and I'm really enjoying watching you cook! I just want to give you a little hint on how to open sealed jars. It's easy peasy. Just put the pointed end of an old timey coke bottle opener under the rim of the lid and lift up to break the seal. You may have to do it at more than one spot so you don't chip the glass. You can usually hear when vacuum seal breaks. Then just open the lid as usual. Breaking the seal this way doesn't damage the lid. It screws back on the jar as usual. I use this method all the time and I never have a problem opening lids anymore. If you don't have one of these old style openers, use something else pointed that's small enough to slip between the lid and the rim of the jar. I hope this helps.

@@BeautifulTooCreationsWithDonnaHello, I'm relatively new and love watching you and your husband (catching up on videos). I was curious about the sugar in potato salad. I use sweet and dill pickles to balance it off, but can't imagine adding more sweetness 🤔

I love this recipe. I also boil my potatoes but my additions include all the items you use minus the pimento. I use sweet gherkins that I chop and I also add 1/2 cup of finely chopped green pepper, and a little mustard. In the NE region so Hellman’s mayonnaise is my choice. I love your style.

FYI, sweet gherkins and sweet salad cubes are one and the same…just sweet gherkins cut up into good ol’ finger licking salad cubes!!!

@@linhappy5338 They are hard to find NE of NC where they are made at the Mount Olive plant. You can order online at Walmart or other online sources. In the meantime cutting up those baby gherkins will yield the same results. I learned all of this when I attended Mount Olive’s Pickle Festival! I haven’t even tried it yet, because I just found sweet salad cubes. I’m ready now!

Lady Keen, thank you I have never seen sweet cubes but figured probably that. I never liked mayo but maybe I'll try Duke's when I visit in-laws in Alabama, surely not finding in NY 😁

Everything is looking good. You can use a spoon to break the seal to pop the top. Place the top of the spoon underneath the top and pop it.

I boil the potatoes first then cool them down, if necessary put them in refrigerator. Then it’s easy to peel them. Cut up your potato’s once they have chilled down. You might try my moms recipe of one tablespoon of mustard. Add a sprinkle of sweet paprika on the top with celery seed. I’ve never heard of adding sugar to potato salad. To each his own. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
