I am the owner of a Typhoon H, a Mavic Pro a Breeze and recently a Parrot Anafi, I have to say that the Anafi is my favorite go-to drone now. it does not have a lot of bells and whistles but it has "all" you need and some features as the 20MP camera and up camera view are not available in any Yuneec or Mavics, I would not put this as a weak or entry-level drone just for the price. because of his lack of environmental sensors, it requires better piloting skill to do some surveying and inspection work but its zoom lens capability compensate for any proximity sensor found in other drones, I am very happy with the Anafi and to be honest the price was a major consideration from upgrading to the Mavic Pro Zoom but I am glad I didn't, I flew the MP2Z and it feels very similar to my MP, when I compared what I really needed to do my work, I could not justified the extra 1K for bells and Whistles. Thanks for making this video, Great review and keep doing them, your English is great.

Yo this channel deserves way more attention. The content is informative and the cinematography /editing is also stunning. Keep going. Could you recommend a backpack to fit an Anafi and DSLR Camera gear?
Wow, thanks man! Comments like these trigger me to start making video's again. I've been using the National Geographic RG5350 backback for about 1,5 year now. It's a casual backpack that doesn't look like it contains camera equipment, so you keep a low profile when traveling. It's not the best organized backpack, especially the part where you'd put the Anafi, but I'm really happy with it. It fits my camera, a couple of lenses, greycards, ND-filters, Anafi + remote and some other random camera gear. Been with me on a 3-month trip through Asia as well and the quality is great.
Thanks a lot! I bet you'll love it. We just got back from a 3 month trip to SE Asia and the Anafi held itself really well. Have fun unboxing tomorrow ;)
Really nice vid for a first! You can tell you planned out what you wanted to talk about and show beforehand and it flows nicely. Better English than many native speakers here in Australia ;) Beautiful footage, too. Depending on how long you want such a vid, you could put in things like how well some of the standard features (like "follow me") worked, whether you got the quoted flying time, If you felt you needed extra batteries, what upgrades and accessories are now on the market for it, etc. I'm currently researching whether you can hack your own batteries for cheap. Also nice to know differences between this product and others, like mentioning that it won't force you to connect to the net and to adhere to "no fly zones" like a DJI product.
Well done review. I'm 90% of the way to buying an Anafi. And by the way, your English is spot on. I thought it was your primary language till you said sorry :-)

I still testing the Parrot Anafi but I can say the Gimbal and Zoom have changed, from my perspective, the way we look from the air the world and even our way of flying with the drone when compared to Bebop 2 or Disco. Thank you very much for the feedback. See you soon, here or in my channel, best regards...
Thank you for commenting! The new type of gimbals definately have made it possible to think about taking more "cinematic" stuff, than it just being a tool to fly the drone.

Great review! I own an Anafi myself and really like the possibilities it offers. I do also own DJI drones as well. The Anafi doesn’t feel as robust as a DJI drone and it doesn’t matter a bit. It adds to its long flight time and makes it quite nimble! Thanks for sharing, I look forward to more videos from you! 🙂

What sold me on the Anafi were image quality, it is super quiet, the flight program is very intuitive, the 180 degree vertical camera capability and no NFZ's to deal with.
Yes, to me the Mavic 2 Pro is such an overrated quad. And whenever you ask critical questions, or relay some kind of critical sentiment towards it, the DJI mob just comes in, usually with petty insults, and of course the message that all of the problems are actually user related errors.
@Helman Karzai I agree with what you said..price of this drone for what you getting destroys dji..I own both dji first parrot I bought after realizing how good this drone really is and the autofly is 2nd to none

Great review. I've been on the fence about buying the Anafi but I think after watching this I am going to do it. I also have the Bebop 2 made by parrot which is also a great drone.
Hi there, nice review. I come from a Bebop 2 and had the tones of connection bugs that are related to parrot products. I am worried about the ANAFI (still didn't purchase) because there are tones of comments having connection problems, loosing control, falling from the sky...and specially since the last software update. What is your opinion in this sence? Did you fly with the last updates? experienced any problem? Have you try to put your hand under the drone to see his reaction from the beneath sensor (there are lot of reports of the ANAFI going crazy when doing this)?. Thanks.
I can imagine you're cautious when it comes to purchasing the Anafi. I've read a lot of those stories as well and feel bad for the owners that have had these issues. Until this day I haven't encountered any of those problems. The only time I put my hand underneath the drone is when I do a hand-landing. I do this pretty often actually, since it's easier than picking it up from the ground (lazy me). I kind of feel like it's a matter of some Anafi's that are badly manufactured. There are people flying the Anafi since the beginning without a problem, and there are the ones that fly it three times until it randomly falls from the sky. It's hard to tell why. If I had to choose again between the Mavic Air and the Anafi, I would go with the Anafi again. It has exceeded my expectations, but that doesn't mean there aren't any issues with other Anafi's. I don't know if I could help you out with this one. Perhaps buy it and put it to a stress-test flying it in sports mode within the legal return term. If it breaks, return it. If not, you'll probably be safe.
@@DanRichardsonTV thanks a lot for your helpful and fast reply. The testing is a great idea and since returning it through Amazon is very simple I might give it a try. The camera looks awesome and I think it is worth to try. Thanks again!
Amazing review man. I've seen a lot of great and impressive video stuff coming from this little quadcopter. It really has an impressive camera, and from what I can gather, many pilots actually enjoy flying the machine because it just handles so well. DJI is becoming more oppressive with it's artificial geofencing/no fly zones, and I think it is shameful really that by doing this, they basically dictate whether the end user can get the quad up in the air or not. It's one of those really annoying problems with DJI that somehow always seems to not get any mention at all.
Thank you! And indeed, I totally forgot about that actually. But thanks for adding that to the review though. Another reason why the Anafi is a pretty powerful little bird!
No worries man, it wasn't necessarily directed towards you. more an in general critique of an excessive amount of DJI fanboyism on the internet. Sure DJI knows their game, and they do have some pretty good products on the market, but in a way they are for quadcopters, what Apple is for computers. It's technology that is dumbed down and made in a very specific way, by a pretty dictatorial brand manufacturer. Like Apple products, DJI also tends to be very steeply priced, which in my opinion is not always justifiable for what you actually get. Now Parrot had done some really amazing out of the box thinking with their Anafi quad, and this little 320 grams weighing quad is in many ways more comparable to a DJI Inspire 2 type machine in terms of what it can actually do, than any of the Mavic machines. All due to smart placement of rotors and this amazing camera, which by the way is powered by a Sony branded sensor. Yes it is a powerful little bird indeed!
Well done and informative. Could you please share some unedited footage (like 4K, 2.7K,1080p and RAW Images) for download? Just to take a look at uncompressed footage. Thank you, keep up the good work.
@@DanRichardsonTV Thank you for your comment, i would like to see if possible the wifi signal range from the controller to the drone. Is the drone reliable because of the wifi?
Hey Dude. Good video. I would have some additional information. For example the follow me feature offers more possibilities than DJI does. I don't know if I should make a own video of it or just let you complete what is missing... Let me know.
Thank you Denis! Yes, because of the built in GPS it's really easy to fly the Anafi. If you let go of all controls when the Anafi is in the air, it just stays at one spot waiting for you to push forward/backwards or wherever you'd like to go again. There's not an awful lot that can go wrong if you're - let's say - in an open field when flying for the first time 👍
Excellent presentation and best colouring & detail that I've seen in footage so far on YT. Has the latest firmware update made an appreciable difference? I'm think of taking one of these to cycle in Cambodia in two weeks, so just trying to decide whether to buy one to take with me.
Im glad i did the right choice! I had to choose between Mavic Mini and Anafi, to create nice videos, Anafi does sooo much more for the money, with 4k camera, zoom, follow me mode, flight plan, its perfect!
Great video! I just bought an Anafi for$480 on Ebay. Hopefully I don't get rip off by getting a box of rocks. Lol. So, as long as I use the manufacturer propellers I don't have to worry about it falling out of the sky? I was a little concerned about the that. Because I bought some third party props that I will have to get a refund to avoid that problem.
Hey! No, I haven't noticed any problems zooming. But I only use the lossless Zoom, not the extended. So in 4K i'm only able to zoom up to 1.3x. Are you happy about the drone besides the zoom issues? :)
I didn't hear about the Fimi X8. Have been watching a couple of reviews of the X8 and must say it looks very promising. I've been satisfied with Xiaomi products in general. I've got the Xiaomi M187 scooter at home and the quality is great. So I can imagine you're not sure which drone to buy. I'd like to see them go head-to-head with the Parrot Anafi, because by looking at the footage I can't really tell which one is better. I think you won't go wrong with either of them. Good luck deciding! 😋
Hi Paul, that was something I kept in mind. But fast-forward to today I think the zipper doesn't really has anything to do with the skyfall problem. Reading those comments I believe it's more of a software issue than a hardware one.
hey man, great video :) i saw in your description, that you own a gtx 1060... but you wrote "1600" :) try changing that xD very nice complete video though, i just wanted to tell you that xD

Hi Lonnie, I did use a LUT for some of the footage. I actually did a video a while back about this particular LUT 🤗 ua-cam.com/video/88ePLED6FFw/v-deo.html
Love my Parrot Anafi...BUT unfortunately the batteries are still @$99+ in the US. Feels like Parrot is price gouging their customers with their battery prices. If the Anafi gave you 30+ minutes of flight time then $99 might be reasonable in today's market but you're only going to see 20-22 mins of actual flight with the Anafi (unless you hover to 0% battery level) respectable but not worth $99 for battery. Parrot needs to lower the price of batteries...Also the other key negative about the Parrot Anafi is that if you need repairs for your Anafi and you live anywhere but Europe...you are S.O.L unless the repairs are covered under the Parrot warranty or you can fix it yourself. There are NO Parrot repair centers in the USA (or North America)...and you can't even send it to one of Parrot's European repair centers if you wanted to unless you have an address in that country (This was confirmed to me by Parrot support). Parrot really needs to address that if they want to become contender. No one wants to spend $600 - $800 on a product and use it as a paper weight or have to sell it for salvage parts.
The SD holder sucks - let's not pretend otherwise. You have to have the drone powered on with its fan running to do file transfers via USB. You can't charge the battery and manage files simultaneously unless you remove the card. The case for the drone is fine, but I had to buy an aftermarket one for the controller. I also had to buy a multiport charger and USB-C cables to deal with charging batteries and the controller after a session. I do like the Anafi a lot. I wish they had an AE exposure and WB lock rather than forcing full manual mode if you don't want exposure and WB to change during a shot. I haven't used it, but there's now a 2.7K video option I don't believe you mentioned. There's a bug (at least on Android) that can corrupt an SD card when shooting DNG+jpeg files. If you engage the shutter before the file is written, an SD Error message appears. A new bracketing mode works for jpegs, but not for DNG. One other observation I have is the single, down-facing blue LED makes the Anafi especially difficult to see compared to other drones. It's also small and quiet, so flying BLOS is inevitable, even if you don't venture far. I'm experimenting with a firehouse strobe LED to help maintain visual contact - not just to be legal but because the WiFi is sensitive to controller orientation and needs to face the drone. The new prices for the Anafi, the spare batteries, and the in-app purchase modes makes the Anafi a very good deal.
Yeah, I pretty much agree on all your points. Though the charging and managing files situation doesn't really bother me to be honest. It takes a minute or two to transfer all the data from the Anafi to the computer. If the drone doesn't charge during that time, so be it ;). I'll plug it in the wall after transfering the data anyway.
Who says I'm a bull in a China shop? I dislike having to play neurosurgeon dealing with a micro SD card, and there's no glossing over that cheap design decision. If there's a next generation of Anafi, I'd hope they rethink that. Thank you for the tip on the WB lock, I'll look for it. I don't have to fly far away to lose track of it. It's small and quiet...easy to lose sight of even when quite close.
@@bjnslc I added two leds (red on left rear leg and white on right). It's a big help with orientation. Personally I haven't had any issues with the SD card holder or waiting if I'm tranferring directly from the Anafi but those are personal issues that will be a pain to some and not to others.
Sadly I am dissapointed. It is a nice thing to use but not reliable. Currently sent back to Parrot for repair hopefully under guarantee. It lost control at about 50m. Then went up about 10m more then straight down at speed to the ground. Now has Vertical Camera error. If it fails again I will try and get money back through Visa and get something else. Nice Video BTW.
Hey Alan, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope Parrot will send you a new one asap, and one that doesn't drop from the sky ;). There are quite a lot of Anafi's that have crashed in a similar way. Pretty alarming i.m.o.

Does anyone else feel that a person can't make an honest review if they will profit of endorsing the item they're reviewing? that's why i always look for someone that don't post amazon links for none bias.
My Anafi eventually broke down. Or at least, my remote. After sending it back to Parrot I received my full purchase amount instead of a repair. And I have flow it for over one and a halve year. So I'm not complaining, but on the other hand I found it weird they decided not to fix it. At this point in time Parrot is mainly active in the business market. Not so much the consumer market. So I guess that that played a part in the way they handled things a while ago. So still good? I have no idea. Maybe someone else is flying my Anafi right now ;)

I have two and use them for survey work......just brilliant.
DJI are heavy...
Anafi is an expression of pure weight saving.....
Personally I think the engineering is excellent
5:42 is the right one edited or is ist the unprocessed one
The right one is the edited one. The original source file was over exposed, but the codec held itself great when pulling back the highlights.
Hey great Video. The Anafi is my new daily Driver. Did you have any Zoom probs with your Anafi? I often get pixelated footage in lossless settings...
Hey! No, I haven't noticed any problems zooming. But I only use the lossless Zoom, not the extended. So in 4K i'm only able to zoom up to 1.3x. Are you happy about the drone besides the zoom issues? :)
Also - it's not so loud as other drone models... it has a pleasant hum..
I wonder how many owners of the Anafi have discovered that Parrot leaves them swinging when they need repair service after the warranty period?
This video didn't age that well. Parrot has gone a whole different way by know. They have a government focus now I believe.
@@DanRichardsonTV It's very disappointing.
@@chris_santucci indeed. You've got some nice video's on your channel by the way :)
@@DanRichardsonTV Oh hey, thanks!
Fijne review!
I love ANAFI.❤️🎵😄
Thnx for sharing info. I also consider buying this drone but lately Fimi released their new X8 drone and I can not chose right now between them both.
Did you say the problem of dropping out of the sky has something to do with zipping up the propellers in the case?
Hi Paul, that was something I kept in mind. But fast-forward to today I think the zipper doesn't really has anything to do with the skyfall problem. Reading those comments I believe it's more of a software issue than a hardware one.
hey man, great video :) i saw in your description, that you own a gtx 1060... but you wrote "1600" :) try changing that xD very nice complete video though, i just wanted to tell you that xD
Thanks for the feedback. Will change it right now
@@DanRichardsonTV great :) stay tuned with the content, amazing work !
Is it possible to shoot in 1440p?
And how many fps is possible to get?
1440p i dont think is possible... and you get up to 30 fps in 4k and 60 in full hd
How you hack the drone into fcc mode for long flight with android device?
Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪
Enjoyed the LUTS you used. Softer image I guess you filmed in P-log And graded after. thanks for the video. Like the style of your review and more than welcome to be featured on my channel if you like. I am to busy to make a review about my anafi lol
That would be great! And thank you of course :). It indeed was P-Log graded in post.
With wich programm do you edit your footage
I edit my video's with Adobe Premiere. I do think I'm going to switch to Davinci Resolve though, which has a free version.
@@DanRichardsonTV So which would you recommend me as a free editing app ?
@@DanRichardsonTV your video was great. I think I am going to by the parrot anafi fly more kit.
However some german youtubers have many problems with the drone. Mabye bacause of a huawai smartphone ore something. I have a samsung galaxy s8. Wich phone do you use for it.
I hope there wont be big problems with the drone because the footage is amazing
Did you use a LUT for color grading or is that your own color grading?
Hi Lonnie, I did use a LUT for some of the footage. I actually did a video a while back about this particular LUT 🤗 ua-cam.com/video/88ePLED6FFw/v-deo.html
Mooie drone dit stilste op de markt
Remove that sticker on the rubberized grip and put it on the outside.
I think I'm going to go buy a Parrot Anafi. The propellers are not in the video like the Dj Mavic.
Image quality is superior on this drone vs the Mavic Air.
It's definately on par. The additional functionality like beeing able to look upwards and having the lossless zoom make it a no-brainer in my opinion.
Just bought them other day and I had to find that out the hard way.
@@VickersDoorter ...now now, Let's be nice to each other. We all love droning :-)
@@bjnslc I added two leds (red on left rear leg and white on right). It's a big help with orientation. Personally I haven't had any issues with the SD card holder or waiting if I'm tranferring directly from the Anafi but those are personal issues that will be a pain to some and not to others.
No props in images sold. First flight was great. Nice controller. Never impressed with the noisy DJI. English was superb.
It is relatively quiet. Another plus.
@@DanRichardsonTV Thanks. That's a bit of evidence for me if I need it. Your video was good, you have a nice manner and your english is better than mine ! I have sailed to Holland many times, love the place.
@@toad008 Thank you for your kind words.
@@DanRichardsonTV Just a link when I got it back after the first exchange ! Yaw a bit sharp, sorted now. I have flown it out of sight using cam with confidence, really like it. I have used cheep toy ones for years but really like the anafi, if it was stable ! Keep up with your videos, quality not quantity !! ua-cam.com/video/8a9uweLUSpc/v-deo.html
*Took a loot in the description before watching video* *sees parrot drone amazon link* "think to myself YEAH, i'm sure he won't recommend it xD". Does anyone else feel that a person can't make an honest review if they will profit of endorsing the item they're reviewing? that's why i always look for someone that don't post amazon links for none bias.
Put it in the case upside down prop problem solved, your welcome.
Why do u have to mention his english......hmmmm
still good....? wanna dodge china manufacturers.
