That was an excellent review! Very fair & truthful. I wished you were able to comment on Parrots Flight Plan. NO ONE comes close. I have friends who has sent their drones well over 10 miles round trip. Impressive! This is probably the best/fair video I've seen in a while. Great Job!
Thanks so much! Ya. Sorry we didn’t do a full review on that feature. Based on the great experience with their other smart flight modes, I bet the flight plan mode is awesome.
of course, I use the flight plan with the bebop 2 power and sent the drone on 25 minutes courses around islands, rocks, over the sea without constant wifi connections and made great videos - unpossible without the flight plan app. Today I understood, that dji removed the waypoint function again from their dji go app for the new mavic 2. This function was available in the beta app but the waypoints were only able to plan with connection to the drone. Till the plan was created the akku was under 70%. Parrot flight plan works offline - you can plan your flight whereever, whenever on your mobile - also without your drone.
@@TurboVisionSlovensko If it only would be able to do some tricks like setting a waypoint where the drone is right now for example or fix the waypoint in the flight plan so that you dont move it around on a small handy display..that would be nice..review itself was very fair indeed - thx for the effort to compare...I was surprised to be honest about the differences you discovered !
Great review. I own the DJI P4P and M2Z. I have had the Anafi for just over two weeks now and I am impressed. I have been flying it 90% of the time since. The app’s user interface is great. Contrary to your personal preferences, I like the Anafi’s up/down camera switches layout. They’re intuitive, even after years of using DJI products. I also prefer the Anafi’s controller design over the M2Z. The ergonomics can do with some improvements, but it is my number 1 controller design at the at the moment.
You said a little less noisy then the mavic Air? Try a lot less noisy ! That mavic air sounds like angry hornets 100 ft up! Oh wait one more thing the Anafi has no fly zones ;-)
I think anyone who has ever owned a Mavic Air all thought the same exact thing when he said "a little less noisy". "A LITTLE!?!?!!?"....lol. I NEVER thought noise would make a big difference to me...but man was I wrong! :-)
The Anafi has its short comings, but one of its strong points is that it is quiet compared to DJI drones. I think Parrot can come out strong with a second version of the Anafi if they will address a few things that you noticed in your review.
Well I went for the Anafi, the build was my first concern however the overall features with the new updates outway My DJI drones and Yuneec H. Its my preferred UAV of choice right now at the price point. The app is very cool. I am sure parrot had something to do with the Litchi app!?
The comparsion between the Anafi and the Mavic Air in the beginning - take your pick: - a really quiet drone which propellers take about 5 minutes to change (which you do once a year) vs a drone that is very noise all the time but you can change the propllers quick - a "lower quality built" at first sight that holds up just as it should vs a "good quality built" that is so heavy it flies almost 10 minutes shorter. Wondering which is better...
"A little less noisy". Really!? "What I don't like about his drone is I am not looking like a cool professional drone pilot operating it". Okay. "I wish DJI will have that feature at some point." You know you can just buy a non DJI product right? Sometimes sounds like a DJI fan boy by excellent review overall.
I have this for about 7 months and the controller won't connect to phone anymore I dropped it couple times the inside to the usb hookup if flimsy I'm guessing this happens a lot the four pin connects have come off I tried to solder them but not working still
Thanks for this very comprehensive and complete review and comparison ! I bought an Anafi, and as it’s my first drone, I can’t compare. Quite happy after viewing your review ! You didn’t mention issues with corrupted DNGs files, maybe you hadn’t ?
To be honest, I thought it was just a mistake with my computer, but now that you mention it, I did come across some “broken” dng files. However, the files still performed as usual albeit that pop up error saying the files wasn’t working properly.
9th Ave Studio yes, this seems to be an issue for many people. Another issue I have is jello effect in low light (golden-blue hour), especially in HDR (« Eartquake effect » is more appropriate in my case..). Did you have this issue ?
Probably the best review I've seen on this drone. Well done! Also notice the photo pro details about pictures. Aberration, chrome etc. Well done! I have many drones. Looking into a small one. Flying big ones. One 12 kg beast, one special Dji for Arctic and honestly, looking into a drone I can "put in my pocket" where pics and videos doesn't look like shit for low money. Brilliant informative video. I have a couple of questions for you I hope you may be able to answer, how did you change the telemetry from metres to feet in the app and also does anyone know what the button to the left of the return to home button is on the app please? Thanks.
I wasn’t able to change the units of measurement to the imperial system. Not sure if there is an options. As far as the button to the left of the return home button, if you mean the little cross hair looking icon, it’s to switch orientation from aircraft to controller or visa versa.
Thanks for the quick reply. Have you noticed on your video your speed is in metres per second your height is in metres and your distance is in feet. I only noticed the distance when I first viewed your video that's why I asked if you had changed it in settings. As for the cross hair icon changing orientation between controller or drone, can you explain it in more detail please? Thanks Mick.
I never even noticed a difference. The horizontal electronic stabilization is pretty good. Granted I didn’t do any extreme testing for shaking, but under normal conditions, it’s great.
That's a great and informative video, thanks a lot! secondly, how do they compare on ranges and wind stability, especially Anafi VS the Mavic Pro and VS the Phantom 4?
We didn't notice any significant difference in range. Its hard to measure in the real world because of varying weather conditions and interference. For all intensive purposes, Id say they were basically the same. As far as wind and stability, the original Mavic Pro as well as the Phantom 4 Pro are much less susceptible to drifting. The Anafi tends to drift a bit more, but not as bad as the GoPro Karma. Stability-wise, the gimbal on the Anafi is very good. In normal wind conditions, it compares similarly to the original Mavic Pro. You wouldn't notice any major difference. The Phantom 4 has a bit more weight to it giving it a little more stability than the other two if the winds get a little stronger.

That seems like a silly interpretation. There is no competition. Only comparison. Many find great value in seeing the relative quality to a very popular drone that a lot of people are familiar with. Three data points are always better than two in order to really understand the relative comparisons here.
@@9thavestudio11 thanks for your response, I will overlook the connotation of "silly" since you are right, this was not a competition, and I apologize for the wording of my comment since you obviously worked hard in making a great video, as the p4pro was offered just for comparison I definitely should have payed attention to the video. thanks for offering a very clear comparison of drones in the same class. it made my decision to buy an anafi as an upgrade from my hubsan zino a no brainer as it perfectly fit my budget

Why are you even comparing software post processing(sharpening etc) for drones as if comparing hardware cameras,, This is not a smartphone where people only shoot in auto mode..
If you are talking about the Mavic Pro, the over-sharpened footage is strait out of camera and is therefor not post processing. Only in log or custom modes are you given an image without sharpening right out of camera. The point of the image quality comparison was to compare default image quality of each drone.
yeah but the iso, shutter speed, exposure, resolution or even filters you choose are all tweakable and different,, meaning comparison of things like details, shadows are quite pointless. Even the sharpening can be added further or softened in post, while what you did is comparing them like smartphone cameras pictures
I disagree. Core image quality factors such as detail, dynamic range and compression put a limit on the potential final image. For instance, you cannot add detail or dynamic range in post. Additionally, I conducted tests for each drone at their best possible setting, including log modes. These tests are meant to give an idea of how well each drones footage responds to color grading and file compression. Experienced videographers will and have found these test very useful. To say the tests are pointless is a bit aggressive.
sorry for my careless wording, well did you do it all under the same ISO, shutter speed, etc? and yes like you said, the bitrate, sensor size, etc etc all will factor into the final result, but theyre things already listed on the spec sheet, To me tho honestly youre still merely comparing software processing than camera hardware/quality, just my opinions tho, for ppl rarely change their camera settings this indeed could be helpful or at least informative (then again, i dont think these ppl will care about the differences only visible after several times digital zoomed in)
No problem. Yes. All of the side by side comparisons were done at the exact same settings the only difference being that the Mavic has a wider fixed aperture, so it was shot at 1/3 stop faster shutter speed to compensate, which shouldn’t make any difference as they were all above 1/1000. I see your point that those not changing setting may not care about camera quality as much. However, for others, the spec sheet only tell you basic information but does not show you how this translates to the real world because any image that is captures by a camera sensor must go through software processing done by the manufacturer which is out of the consumers control. This includes any camera that doesn’t shoot uncompressed raw, which doesn’t go through software encoding or compression. Any camera that produces a viewable video file must be compressed and encoded. The methods of compressions and encoding are designed by the manufacturer and are out of the control of the consumer. This includes techniques like oversampling and pixel binning.
