I’ll never understand why this movie isn’t super famous. Incredibly well made, well written, well acted. Just super wholesome and heartwarming; one of my family’s enduring favorites for the holidays. Thank you so so much for watching and loving this underrated classic!
It WAS famous back in the '90s. It was one of those movies that the majority of everybody had seen, and it was prominent on the shelves at video rental places when it came out on VHS, like a whole floor to ceiling section.
One thing I love about this movie - the big surprise reveal didn't result in a big blowup and "how could you". There wasn't even the standard rush to the airport. The whole family just welcomed her back in and Jack just proposed. It was perfect ❤
I love this movie mostly because it’s also about finding a family’s love as well as romantic love, which to a lot of people is something they crave more.
"Lucy, you're born into a family. You do not join them like you do the Marines." Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman had such great chemistry that made this movie! Wish they would make more movies like this because I miss movies that were decent, pure, elegant and family friendly.
Unfortunately I think Rom-Coms in the 90s style are a modern day PC / Woke minefield that makes them all but impossible to get financed. There will always be the minority of a minority of a marginalized group that will be triggered and try and Cancel everyone involved in it.
>"I miss movies that were decent, pure, elegant and family friendly." YES!!! Same here. I'm so tired of gritty, "realistic," harsh movies. I want a return to fun, innocence, and happy endings! Why can't movies just be a fantasy and fun anymore? Why does everything have to be dark and depressing?! Honestly, I'm so tired of it. I just want happy, good, and fun back.

Sandy Bullock was so great. Probably the girl-next-door-type movie star GOAT. She had a relatability that made her perfect for this kind of thing. Glad she eventually got her Oscar. She was someone to really root for.
She's also mixed in some fairly unpleasant films - 28 DAYS, for example... which is a top performance by her but unpleasant to watch BECAUSE she does it so well. Tough. THE NET is an interesting film, well made, well acted but, again, rather difficult to watch. I really enjoy TWO IF BY SEA where she's a willing accomplice to a criminal boyfriend (the usually unlikeable Denis Leary, who's pretty fun in this one). LAKE HOUSE and PREMONITION (which I continually confuse and seldom rewatch). HOPE FLOATS is pretty depressing for me to watch again... more like HOPE SINKS. MISS CONG is so much fun and #2 is not. sigh... but all are part of her work and I'm thankful for that.
@@ollietsb1704 Totally forgot about 28 Days...she was really good in that. Gravity was really good as well. She's been pretty damn bankable for a long time. Kind of a bummer she retired or whatever happened? She's been pretty MIA.
Sandra Bullock is one of only a few examples I can think of who transitioned from cute sweetheart roles to a variety of serious acting roles. Very impressive career.
This is probably the best RomCom ever made. My wife watches it about six times a year. I always roll my eyes and say, "not again," but then I watch and enjoy it too. How can a man fail to fall for Lucy every time? Sandra Bullock...a man couldn't ask for more.
While You Were Sleeping came out shortly after Sleepless in Seattle, and I always appreciated how Bill Pullman, playing the kind boyfriend Meg Ryan leaves in Sleepless, moved on to have a wonderful love story as the good brother in While You Were Sleeping.
Fun fact: The woman who played the grandmother is the same actress who played the mother in the original Mary Poppins. Another amazing romcom you should react to is Return to Me, starring Minnie Driver and David Duchovny. It’s one of my all time favorite movies, very heartbreaking yet uplifting at the same time.
Yes, defiantly need to see "Return to Me" ... and "Just Like Heaven" staring Reese Witherspoon. I think Cassie needs a few more romance/comedies in her rotation next year.
This is one I saw in a theater when it first came out. No idea why I went to see it, but I fell in love with Sandra Bullock's Lucy almost immediately. They say acting is reacting, and Lucy sitting quietly while the family argues about the kind of nonsense families like to argue about is just perfect. She just smiles and glows from being in the room with them.
Finally. Someone reacted to this movie! This is my all-time favorite movie. It was kind of hard to watch along because I’ve seen it so many times, I know the dialogue. 😂
It is fun to watch Cassie struggle with horror flicks - but she needs a break for Christmas! Besides, horror flicks, at least for this channel, should be reserved for Halloween season (just my opinion). It's fun to watch reactions to nice movies as well.
I have always loved this movie. They were filming it during my sophomore year of high school about 3 blocks away from my house in Logan Square. I was able to watch the scene where Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman slipped on the ice in front of her apartment; it took about 8 takes for them to get it just right. . It was awesome! 🤩
Sandra Bullock has such excellent comedic timing, which made this movie great. One of my favs! She and Bill Pullman had great on screen chemistry and worked so well off each other. Glad you finally viewed this movie!
Glynis Johns (Elsie) is one of my favourite actors. She turned 99 this year. Her first movie role was in 1938 when she was 15. This was her second to last movie role.
I'm telling you, Cass, this is my all-time favorite Christmas romantic/comedy movie b/c it's genuinely funny and heartwarming!!!! So glad you liked it Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!
One of the actors who played Saul a longtime friend and neighbor to Peter's family was Jack Warden as you seen him as Juror number 7 from 12 Angry Men.
This is the ONLY movie I watch every Christmas, without fail. As others have pointed out, not only is the writing and acting top tier, but the focus on her finding _family_ and not just a man is the part that I just can't get enough of. Truly, this film should teach a master class to everyone making those dime-a-dozen streaming service rom-coms on how to create meaningful characters, character relationships, and character development...and to do it in roughly 90 minutes. Also, I'm just now realizing that it's one of the only rom-coms I can think of where the protagonist is working class. You _believe_ that she's not made of money, and that fact never makes you pity her. It's just part of her world. It's totally normalized and I love that.
This is my ultimate feel-good Christmas romcom. Glad to see you react to it, I think it's been missed by the general masses. It gives me that warm, cozy feeling inside. ^_^
I also think this is a very underated movie. Sandra at her cutest. Based on your reactions to these kind of movies I really think you would love The Holiday. It’s Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Eli Wallach(RIP). Its funny, romantic, touching and can also be considered a Christmas movie. Also, Love Actually is the best!
Did you recognize the woman playing the grandmother? She is the woman that plays Mrs. Banks, the mother of the two children in the original Mary Poppins!
P. S. If you want another Rom-Com feel good movie. You need to see Return To Me with David Duchovney and Minnie Driver along with the cutest gang of old people you'll ever see. It's a guaranteed gusher!!!!
I love watching your reactions-makes it so fun to see it through your eyes. I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but Bill Pullman was Meg Ryan’s fiancé in “Sleepless in Seattle”. It’s really a great example of acting-from a man no one wanted, to one everyone does, all with a change of character. Love this movie. Well done…
omg Cass! you have no idea how happy this reaction made me! Sandra Bullock was *THE* it-girl of the 90s and I can't even think of a movie she's done that she wasn't phenomenal in. I used to watch this movie all the time with my aunt and we'd laugh together and quote it non-stop. another favorite Sandra Bullock movie of mine is Love Potion No. 9, which I know you'd love! if you're looking for something that isn't a rom-com, The Net is worth checking out. it often gets overlooked but it's a great Thriller and of course Sandra Bullock delivers an amazing performance ❤
70 year old guy here, married almost 45 years. This is one of my many favorite movies. The inevitable romance, complicated by the many, ever increasing, web of incidents and misunderstandings. This might have been the first movie that I saw Bill Pullman in, that I realized who he was. Excellent actor. And that family- they could be mine..
I only watched this for the first time a few months ago and I loved it. I generally enjoy any Sandra Bullock movie but Lucy is definitely one of most adorable, sweet and relatable characters in any film.
Cassie, you're so right about 90s romcoms being the best. Love this movie and especially during Christmas time! I am so glad you watched it and enjoyed it too. Another great one is Runaway Bride and for Christmas we watch Little Women starring Wynonna Ryder. The grandmother also played the mother in the original Mary Poppins.
I think Hollywood is so political now you can’t have romance because it “implies a woman needs a man.” If they made it today she’d realize she doesn’t want either of them and goes to Europe with her girlfriends instead. She’d also be a genius and a high earner and better than the men in every way, stronger than them even, there’d be a scene where she overpowers and beats the crap out of the neighbor.
This is a lovely little romantic comedy that is strengthened by its somewhat wistful underlying tone which adds a layer of depth to the film. As someone else commented Glynis Johns, still with us at 99!, who plays the wacky charming grandmother also played the mother in Mary Poppins. Aside from that milestone she appeared in many terrific films over her 60 year career, she made her first film when she was 15. One of the most famous and enjoyable and the one you would probably like the most is the 1955 comedy "The Court Jester" with Danny Kaye as the title character, Angela Lansbury as a spoiled princess and Glynis as a very fair member of a rebel band trying to restore the rightful heir to the throne. It's a colorful delight.
I grew up with The Court Jester on home video and Glynis Johns became one of my first screen crushes. She's absolutely gorgeous in that movie, with just a touch of an unhinged edge that foreshadows her comedic abilities later in life. Speaking of which, she's also perfect as the evil mother in The Ref ('94) which is a Christmas comedy staple around our house.
Be sure you don't miss out on another Sandra movie called "Love Potion No. 9." It's a hidden gem that few people know about. It has some really funny stuff. Very cute and sweet, and great humor.
It’s a cute enough movie, but I’m not sure if it’s one that ages well. (Considering like the Cosby stuff.) I mean the whole premise is essentially about drugging people into doing things they wouldn’t otherwise consent to.
Another of my favorite Chicago locale ROM COMS is Return To Me with Minnie Driver and David Duchovny and stellar cast. Love Twin Anchors the restaurant where it is set.
I always loved this movie, 2 weeks notice with Sandra Bullock as well. Another, starring Robert Downey Jr and Marisa Tomei to watch is "Only You" from 1994
One of our family favorites. Saw it in the theater with my wife many moons and three (now grown) children ago. It is a perfect movie with the perfect balance of humor, romance and silliness while still somehow feeling grounded in reality.
I knew you'd love this movie. It's my favorite romantic comedy and I don't love many, so it's saying a lot that this won me over. I guess it gives us lonely people a little hope. But mainly it's because Sandra Bullock is so damn charming. Speed was the movie that made her famous but I first saw her in Love Potion No 9, and later Demolition Man. I'll always crush on her a bit.
I had a pretty awful time as a kid, but I would watch this movie and it would make me feel happy. I watched it over and over growing up and always wished I had a family like that. Its still a huge comfort movie for me. I loved your reaction to it!
Not a chic-flick person but this is by far MY FAVORITE! When this movie came out is was a very huge deal, it proved that Sandra Bullock could be a lead in a movie not just a side-kick like in Demolition Man and Speed
I adore this movie. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. Sandy is precious, you want to hug her. The whole cast is amazing, and it's very sincere and sweet.
Cassie - another outstanding reaction! You were so in your element watching this one. You've said from the beginning that this is the kind of movie that you always watched before starting this channel so it was great seeing you react to it. Well done!
One of my favorite rom-coms. I remember it more fondly since it was one of the first I saw with my mom. I really liked Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. One of my first actor crushes. Does make me wonder if Cassie has seen the 1995 BBC Pride & Prejudice since she likes Bridget Jones' Diary and rom-coms so much. If she hasn't she definitely should and hopefully react to it.
There are a few rom-coms that I really enjoy, and this is at the top of the list. It's got a bunch of actors I like - Sandra Bullock, Bill Pullman, Peter Boyle, Jason Bernard, Ali Walker - and it's got a crazy, quirky set of characters, and a wacky comedic plot. The whole film just charms, but especially Sandra Bullock. I've been a fan of her for a long time, and I never truly realized why until one day when I looked over my elementary school photos and realized that she's a dead ringer for the girl I fell head over heels in love with in 4th grade. I mean, the fact that she's one of the most talented actors of the last thirty years or so may have contributed to my fandom, too. I'm just sayin'. I've often said of Sandra Bullock - I really liked her in Demolition man, I absolutely loved her in Speed, but I FELL IN LOVE with her in While You Were Sleeping.
i freaking love this movie. easily on my list of favourite christmas movies/movies in general. it has such a great rewatch-ability factor. great reaction!! :)
Whenever anyone asks what my favorite Christmas movie is I say this and the amount of people who have never heard of it is ridiculous. This is the one holiday movie I have to watch every year.
I find many people haven't seen 'One Fine Day' which is a shame because it is one of the best romcoms. Michelle Pheiffer and George Clooney are great it in. huge chemistry. 1000% recommend.
This is one of my wife’s favorites. I’m not one for romcoms but I like Bill Pullman, Peter Boyle and Jack Warden (Saul). The 90s was a good time for romcoms. Another one worth watching is “It Could Happen To You” with Nicolas Cage and Bridgette Fonda.
Every member of my family has seen this movie and loved it. It is one of our favorite Christmas movies. For a while, my uncles would hang a Christmas stocking at the fireplace with Lucy's name.
OMG I love This movie so much . So romantic and funny ❤️ so underrated ! Sandra Bullock IS too adorable. And a Big smile on my face at the end. My comfort movie .
This was my first favourite movie, and I used to know it word for word. And still, watching it cut up with you made me realise just how much of the dialogue can't be cut. It's all so character and story driven that it all matters. That's some incredible writing!!!
I knew you'd love it! Another Sandra Bullock movie that I personally love is "Hope Floats". I hope you get the chance to check it out if you haven't already.
I love Sci-Fi, horror, and action adventure movies . . . but “While You Were Sleeping” is one of my top 10 favorite movies and, next to “Roman Holiday” my favorite romcom!!! Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful sister!!!
You're so fun and silly. Watching you is a little like enjoying movies with our daughter for the first time. I'll recommend an older movie to you again, partly because of how well you respond to older movies and partly because it's just one of my favourties -- The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, 1947 :)
💫Cassie really ought to see that one. She'd enjoy it, and I think it's one of those that might be a revelation to those who haven't watched older movies. "Johnny Belinda" (1948) is another that springs to mind. Beautifully filmed, very evocative of a particular time and place, and the subject matter will surprise current audiences (not a rom-com).
i am SO excited that you're reacting to this!!!! I feel like this is a super overlooked film. I don't think i've ever seen anyone else react to it actually. but i love it. my family watches it every christmas!
I have over 140 Christmas movies. I put them together in 3 playlists: "All", "Essentials", and "Week of". They are nested playlists. "While You Were Sleeping is in my "Week of" so I see if at least 3 times (I start in October). I really love it and it would not be Christmas without it.
Glynis Johns is an awesome actress. She's worked so many famous actors in her 90+ years; Jimmy Stewart in No Highway In The Sky, Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins, and she was in the Christmas movie The Ref.
I loved your reaction and knew you would love this movie. This is simply one of the best rom coms ever. This 60 year guy still tears up at this movie. Sandra Bullock has never been more adorable. The rest of the cast is perfect. How can one not love Glynis Johns as the grandmother. It is a must watch movie every Christmas. Seeing how you love these kinds of movies, if you haven’t seen French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline you must. It’s another quirky rom com that is too often overlooked.
I love Jack Warden in this, he was so heartwarming and funny, as a kid i hated his irredeemable character on "Problem Child" so it was so relieving watching him in here as a caring and wise godfather.
I love this movie so much. 💕 One thing I find silly is that Jack proposes to Lucy right away. He has only known her for maybe two weeks! I feel like they should date and get to know each other first! But I guess a proposal makes for a better romcom ending.
So glad you chose this movie to react to. Was really hoping someone would recomend it. This one tends to go under the radar when most people, mention great 90s romantic comedies. Had a feeling you would love it(Chrismas themes and all). Anyway great reaction, enjoyed every minute.
I remember Bill Pullman in The Accidental Tourist as well but it's so insanely long ago I saw it I couldn't say if it's a react worthy movie. It was nominated for Best Picture though, and Geena Davis won Best Supporting Actress. Written/directed by Lawrence Kasdan (Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens, Solo) and score by John Williams, both also nominated for Oscars that year.
FYI, I always give you a thumb up. Peter Gallagher played Peter and a year after this he was in a favorite movie of mine "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday". Co-stars are Claire Danes, Kathy Baker and Michelle Pfeiffer as the title character.
This was one of my favorite movies when I was in high school! I watched it on repeat, and have most of it memorized. I even expected to hear the place where our VHS used to skip, and it took a second to realize why it wasn't there :) I've recommended it before, but another romantic movie you should absolutely watch is "The Mirror Has Two Faces" with Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges! It's another mid-90's rom-com, and I just know you would love it! It's a hidden gem!
One of my favorite romantic comedies! Glad you discovered it. If you get a chance, please put ‘Return to Me’ (2000) on your list of romcom movies to watch. Minnie Driver and David Duchovny star. SO good!
For lack of better words, this movie is freaking precious. I have to have noise to fall asleep. This is one of my safe movies. No sudden loud noises, calm, and has a good, sweet energy for nice dreams.
This is my second favorite movie ever!! I remember seeing it in the theater and I know it word for word. The first time I visited Chicago, I geeked out over this movie. You recognized Peter Doyle and Bill Paxton, but what a lot of people don't know is that the grandmother is the mom from Mary Poppins!! 💗 This is the first movie I ever saw Sandra Bullock in. 💗
OMG I love this movie so much!!! It’s one of my comfort movies and holiday favorite!!! It’s also responsible for my life long crush on Bill Pullman!!!❤❤
So much fun seeing you react to a movie right in your wheelhouse. Another romcom worth checking out is 1988's Working Girl with Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver (and some other great actors).
I am among the many here who have seen this multiple times. But it is always sheer joy to see you react to one you have not seeen. It make this viewing for me so much better.🥰
I love this movie!!! I think you'd also like Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in the movie, "The Lake House". Please also consider watching the movies; "Bicentennial Man", "Michael", "Powder", "A Rumor of Angels", "Little Manhattan", “13 Going On 30”, “You’ve Got Mail”, “City of Angels”, “Steel Magnolias”, “The Stepmom”, “The First Wives Club”, “The Joy Luck Club”, “Now and Then”, and “Good Will Hunting".
The Lake house and While you were sleeping were both filmed about a few miles from each other.... Lagrange Illinois for "Wyws" and Riverside Illinois for "The Lake House" I watched them film both movies and to this day pass by the old Calihan house on 8th and Elm and thnk of the movie. The lake for the lake house was in Palos hills illinois about 10 miles away and is a very beautiful lake.
I’ll never understand why this movie isn’t super famous. Incredibly well made, well written, well acted. Just super wholesome and heartwarming; one of my family’s enduring favorites for the holidays. Thank you so so much for watching and loving this underrated classic!

Actually this is still my no. 2 romcom to this day. It used to be my no. 1 until Noting Hill came out.
Check out the reviews. It is a well loved movie
I won't say wholesome - 2 brothers loving the same woman and relationship with a married woman... hahaha... But it was done as a comedy...
To my family: If I'm ever in a coma and Sandra Bullock tells you she's my fiance, I'm Okay with it.
LOL! Great comment!
So true!! 😆

Right! Lucy loved the family dynamic and wanted to be a part of it!

My mom loves this movie, I grew up with her watching and quoting it constantly. "IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S... _LEANING_ ."
Me and my sister always quote “these mash potatoes are so creamy” and the whole confession about what really happened to the squirrels 😂😂
Fun fact: The woman who played the grandmother is the same actress who played the mother in the original Mary Poppins.
Another amazing romcom you should react to is Return to Me, starring Minnie Driver and David Duchovny. It’s one of my all time favorite movies, very heartbreaking yet uplifting at the same time.
oh wow, been so long since I seen Mary Poppins, I never realized.
Yes! Return to Me. It would stay on repeat for me except sometimes it plucks my heartstrings a little too hard.
I third Return to Me. Heartbroken Duchovny is something to behold. What a yummy man.
Yes, defiantly need to see "Return to Me" ... and "Just Like Heaven" staring Reese Witherspoon. I think Cassie needs a few more romance/comedies in her rotation next year.
I agree with Return to Me! It's so underrated :)
I was a teenage boy when this movie came out and it was the first, and for a while the ONLY, romcom that I genuinely loved and still do.

I don’t know … her Nightmare on Elm Street reaction was pretty spectacular

I used to watch this movie all the time with my aunt and we'd laugh together and quote it non-stop. another favorite Sandra Bullock movie of mine is Love Potion No. 9, which I know you'd love! if you're looking for something that isn't a rom-com, The Net is worth checking out. it often gets overlooked but it's a great Thriller and of course Sandra Bullock delivers an amazing performance ❤
The Net was indeed a great movie!
I loved The Net too .
We should all strive to be as happy as Cassie is when watching a love story 🥰🥰🥰
70 year old guy here, married almost 45 years. This is one of my many favorite movies. The inevitable romance, complicated by the many, ever increasing, web of incidents and misunderstandings. This might have been the first movie that I saw Bill Pullman in, that I realized who he was. Excellent actor.
And that family- they could be mine..
Bill (Jack) Pullman was also in SLEEPless in Seattle. "The Lake House" is another fine movie with Bullock and Keanu Reeves.
I only watched this for the first time a few months ago and I loved it. I generally enjoy any Sandra Bullock movie but Lucy is definitely one of most adorable, sweet and relatable characters in any film.
"The Lake House" with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. Underrated movie. One of my wife's favorite movies.
I really liked Runaway Bride.
Yeah, I really miss 80's-2000's romcoms honestly. They just don't really make them anymore. I miss happy, fun movies with happy endings.
@@terri639 they still make them but they don't get the money to be well written & sold to a streaming service & get lost in the shuffle
And of course, the daughter of the wonderful Welsh actor Mervyn Johns, who was prolific in British film and theatre for several decades.
As someone who rarely watches romcoms, I absolutely adore this film. Everything about it is perfect. Happy holidays, everyone! 🚉
Be sure you don't miss out on another Sandra movie called "Love Potion No. 9." It's a hidden gem that few people know about. It has some really funny stuff. Very cute and sweet, and great humor.
I love that movie
It’s a cute enough movie, but I’m not sure if it’s one that ages well. (Considering like the Cosby stuff.) I mean the whole premise is essentially about drugging people into doing things they wouldn’t otherwise consent to.
As a Chicago native, this movie holds a special place in my heart. Such a feel-good movie and yes, it is a Christmas movie!
Is that platform still there? Or was it ever? Was it a set?
@@ct6852 It was the Randolph/Wabash station, but it permanently closed in 2017.
@@JenniHartman Yeah I looked it up. Then couldn't find any pictures of it because it closed in '17. Bummer. Def would've sought it out on a trip.
Another of my favorite Chicago locale ROM COMS is Return To Me with Minnie Driver and David Duchovny and stellar cast. Love Twin Anchors the restaurant where it is set.
I always loved this movie, 2 weeks notice with Sandra Bullock as well. Another, starring Robert Downey Jr and Marisa Tomei to watch is "Only You" from 1994
I love two weeks notice! It definitely doesn't get the love it deserves!!
Only you flies way too far under the radar these days!!
This is one of my favorites of all time. I NEVER get tired of it. I just love all the characters, even Peter who is kind of a doofus.
My mom watched this non stop. This is a classic.
can't stop watching it again and again, thank you so much for this reaction ! this movie ist one of my favorite and a must have on christmas
Oh my gosh yes! It’s such a sweet movie!!!
Definitely
Agree! One Fine Day is one of my faves and it's so underrated!
Yessss another top Rom com
It’s one I have tagged to rewatch whenever I want to see Sandra happy…
Sandra Bullock is an A lister if there ever was. She's a lovable actress in all of her movies.
I was so EXCITED when I saw you were reacting to this movie!!! I love this movie and watch it every December. Glad you enjoyed it!!! Happy Holidays!
Yes!!!
This is one of my favorites of Sandra Bullocks, it has amazing chemistry, humor and just all around good feelings.
One of my favorites. So glad that you got to experience it for the first time.
I've seen this movie many times. It's a classic for me.
This was my first favourite movie, and I used to know it word for word. And still, watching it cut up with you made me realise just how much of the dialogue can't be cut. It's all so character and story driven that it all matters. That's some incredible writing!!!
This one has become a must see Christmas movie, it’s one of my faves ❤️
I knew you'd love it! Another Sandra Bullock movie that I personally love is "Hope Floats". I hope you get the chance to check it out if you haven't already.
Your reaction was so adorable and great, I’m glad you loved this as much as I do! One of my favorite comfort movies!
I love watching your facial expressions during a movie like this. Thanks so much for everything, Cassie! Happy holidays!
This is one of my favorite movies. The right amount of comedy and sentimentalism in the script.
Glynis Johns is an awesome actress. She's worked so many famous actors in her 90+ years; Jimmy Stewart in No Highway In The Sky, Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins, and she was in the Christmas movie The Ref.
Try her in "Miranda" (1948) as a mischievous mermaid.
Return To Me - is another RomCom that I think you would like if you haven't seen it yet. Great cast, great acting and a very good movie.
Bill Pullman was/is pretty awesome. That speech in Independence Day is still movie-speech greatness.
This movie is one of my favorites; another is "Ever After: A Cinderella Story" (Which you should watch)
FYI, I always give you a thumb up. Peter Gallagher played Peter and a year after this he was in a favorite movie of mine "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday". Co-stars are Claire Danes, Kathy Baker and Michelle Pfeiffer as the title character.
I have many, many favorite movies, and this one is near the top. I'm excited to be seeing it through a first-time viewer's eyes!
This was one of my favorite movies when I was in high school! I watched it on repeat, and have most of it memorized. I even expected to hear the place where our VHS used to skip, and it took a second to realize why it wasn't there :)
I've recommended it before, but another romantic movie you should absolutely watch is "The Mirror Has Two Faces" with Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges! It's another mid-90's rom-com, and I just know you would love it! It's a hidden gem!
Oh! The Mirror Has Two Faces is absolutely fabulous. One of my favorite romantic dramas. I watching it about once a year.
Love this movie. Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman are everything.
One of my favorite romantic comedies! Glad you discovered it.
If you get a chance, please put ‘Return to Me’ (2000) on your list of romcom movies to watch. Minnie Driver and David Duchovny star. SO good!
In case you missed it, the grandmother is Glynis Johns, who played Mrs. Banks in “Mary Poppins.”
I didn't know this! Thank you for sharing! 🥰
Hands down, my favorite proposal scene in any movie, ever!!!
I never saw someone so genuinely giddy over a fictional relationship. 😀 You are a riot, Cassie. "AWW SHE LOVES HIM!!"
Hands down my wife's favorite Romantic Comedy -- and one of my favorites as well. It's on my Top Ten List of Unconventional Christmas Movies.
A favorite of my family’s, we watched this so much! So nice to see someone react to it, even clips of the movie can barely be found on UA-cam.
The entire movie is available for free on UA-cam.
This is the first movie I ever saw Sandra Bullock in. 💗
You said Bill Paxton....think you mean Bill Pullman (Jack)
@@daves536 Yes, I did. Thanks.
Did you go to that train platform?
@@ct6852 If I had known which one it was, I would!
@@denanebergall5514 I just looked it up online: 151 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago
The face that Bill Pullmans son played Bob on Top Gun Mavrick is awesome.
OMG I love this movie so much!!! It’s one of my comfort movies and holiday favorite!!! It’s also responsible for my life long crush on Bill Pullman!!!❤❤
Same
So much fun seeing you react to a movie right in your wheelhouse.
Another romcom worth checking out is 1988's Working Girl with Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver (and some other great actors).
Love Potion Number 9 is a great early Sandra Bullock movie. My altime favorite is The Lake House with her and Keanu Reeves.
Joy Luck Club and Powder would be good on this channel. Kind of assuming she's seen the others...but who knows.
Another lesser known rom com from the 90's is "Mrs. Winterbourne". Not as good as this movie, but still pretty good.
