Guinevere Pendragon . . . even if you were to visit your closest Chanel boutique, It is not possible to view the haute couture collection in person.
Generally speaking, if you were to become a client of Chanel or any of the big Houses, you might get invited to previews where vintage pieces of past HC collections are shown to clients of the House. Giorgio Armani has done this for his Privé collection for people who shop in his boutiques.
Even THEN, to physically inspect the clothes you’d need special permission and gloves.
I suppose you could write to Chanel on rue Cambon in Paris and mention you’re a student and studying things like catch stitch, etc. Perhaps they could help you.
But part of the allure of Haute Couture is keeping its access very INaccessible.

jvr69 I agree! I had to watch it a couple of times to take in the level of creativity and genius being expressed! Also the Paris New York collection is superb! The thought of producing a fashion show at a 3,000 year old Egyptian temple is insane and impossible to imagine... but only Karl pushes the limits of making true FASHION STATEMENTS!

Karl Lagerfeld is an absolute design genius! I'm a life long fan of Chanel and he carries Coco's legacy so well! I saw at least five pieces I would buy if I could afford haute couture . Beautiful show.
This is possibly the greatest collection Karl has ever designed for Chanel. The fact that you can open the skirt, revealing a miniskirt underneath or you can close it, actually represents Gabrielle's spirit of a free woman. Hats off, again.

Lol it doesn’t matter though because the house is literally dead now, Virginie is failing at producing a collection with any impact, any if not comparing her work to Karl, what she is creating is lack luster and has no point of view... CHANEL died with Karl... at least he left a vast assortment of collections to reminisce upon!

Wonderful parade, all very beautiful and with a spectacular organization, I get to be thrilled with so much beauty and clarity in this parade. Chanel is an example of fashion, culture and has a magnificent differential.
WOW! I’m a straight 22yo Parisian boy and I’m proud to admit how the beginning was so intense musically! Moreover, AD Magazine announces Karl is selling his Hambourg House.. I’m not fatalist but.. I feel he’s going to get a well welcomed retired. No doubt, Karl is the son of Mademoiselle and, above his no political-correct personality, will always be remembered as a Modern king of fashion (sharing with YSL ofc) whose legacies have an impact on what’s going on our society. 🖤

If you're tired of the tweeds, just skip it till 3:59 . Anyway, the non-tweed dresses are quite fresh actually, although some classic Chanel shillouettes are still dominating the whole collection. It's a 'no' for those open sleeves, but love some high slits there. They look fierce and matched with the hairstyle. I've been missing the Chanel ponytail look since Chanel Haute Couture F/W 2013-2014 show. It's so nice knowing that Sam McKnight did it again. The makeup also good, i love it. A bit surprising and unexpected for the bridal dress, i've never thought that it would be green and also the cut. I thought the bridal dress would be look like the final white dress but it's not. Nevertheless, love how Karl and his team chose the bride model. Such a historic moment!

Yes ,Its has the spirit of couture and dress that established Paris as the fashion capital. It was clearly absent at Dior, But Karl Lagarfeld's collection embodies the spirit of Parisian Couture through every element of this catwalk spectacle. Kiss you Karl Lagarfeld so many times, the universe is so much more beautiful, with this collection. Lui.

11:10 perfection
I'm usually defending Karl and the couture collections. Many of my friends in fashion criticize the repetitiveness, however, I think Karl's masterful ways of slightly twisting what he's done before always makes the collections look fresh to me, whether I like them or not. This collection left me a little underwhelmed though. I think it's because those textiles "looked" so heavy and many of the skirts looked weighed down with embellishments. I loved, loved, the long slit sleeves with over the elbow gloves! Who else has done that? But -- the linings inside looked clunky and often showed the rough texture of the outside, through the lining. Could have been the pressing. I digress...anyway, this was the feeling I kept having, like I was looking at pieces created by lesser experienced hands. Like those light weight skirts with embellishment around the edges...um...they just looked "loving hands at home" to me. And please Karl -- stop trying to bring back '80s sleeves!! I don't think anyone wants "Dynasty" sleeves in 2018. Or do they? Ugh.
