Well now... Chanel went right back to the 1960"s with this collection... I remember when I was a teenager, I was addicted to sewing with Vogue Patterns and this is just the kind of styles that were offered then... As a Professional seamstress, I can appreciate the incredible quality of the fabrics and sewing in Chanel clothing... This is an exceptional collection... I loved everything!

He is 85 now, normal retirement age is 65, so for 20 years every new show was already a "bonus".

It's really heartbreaking to know he will never walk out waving at the end of a Chanel show. The guy WAS Chanel. Literally an icon. He led an interesting and full life. Loving Vittoria as the bride! Not only she deserves it, but she totally fits the theme of the collection. It was so wonderful to see her walking while listening to Mina's song Parole parole

Yes, I knew something was wrong when Karl was not there for the finale: (( He died today: Tuesday February 19, 2019. He was a courageous man who revived the Chanel House & reminded us that trends die but "the classics of Fashion" live on forever. Thank you Karl Lagerfeld.

Adding on to what you said, Lagerfeld once said that being modern is doing what is daring with a touch of individuality. This show was a breathtaking combination of vintage & modernity with a splash of creative flair both classic & youthful. I thought this last collection truly embodied what Lagerfeld sought for Chanel. Rest in Peace creative genius. Chanel herself would be so proud of you carrying on her legacy. Hope Chanel is in strong hands now. 🙏💕

Despite usual criticism of Karl Lagerfeld, I think all categories of Haute Couture had very elegant Chanel silhouettes. Especially the feather section, mon dieu those silhouettes.
