Some of the comments here are missing the point. This is the Métiers d’art Show - it is a showcase of the technical skills and craftsmanship of the people who create the fabrics, lace, hand embroidery, beading, sequins, etc. for the Chanel Haute Couture collections.
Mondo exactly! This is the next level of haute couture, the modern evolution of craftsmanship and a game changer for luxury fashion ,no fashion house produces this type of artistry and the Métiers d’art collections is the celebration of French heritage and craftsmanship in specific to the artisan skill of feather embroidery and construction in couture, while the haute couture collections are more focused on dressing for annual events, and cultural ceremonies for the Haute couture client... the Métiers d’art is a limited edition collection for the CHANEL boutique Clientele whom get to enjoy the luxury of haute couture on a mass scale, it’s like the inversion of fast fashion(cheap materials, low quality construction, short product lifespan) where luxury brands offer products made by skilled artisans, with high quality materials, and lifetime guarantee with return on investment value. The Métiers d’art is haute couture level craftsmanship, limited availability, natural and luxury material, and huge return of investment value since they are designed by Karl Lagerfeld and apart of fashion history with how the collection is showcased and documented by the media...also CHANEL was the first brand to produce a resort/cruise collection... setting the bar for all other luxury brands and adding a new season in the fashion industry cycle... that is REVOLUTIONARY... Karl has constantly used his partnerships with various fashion houses to Create new markets/economic growth, while bringing creative expression, craftsmanship, and presentation as the essentials for success!
Amazing collection pulling in so many design elements, from the 80s synth pop prints to glam rock to Egyptian decadence. All very Chanel and very New York. BRAVO.
@@complexco The Main Influence was Egyptian, but I noticed some NY references on the denim jackets looks and also on the hat, even though it was Egyptian style it totally felt like NYC. Just think of Sinatra.
Karl always stay true to what CHANEL is and keep on revolutionizing it. I love the way how they play the fabric and the most of all is their craftsmanship on every dress especially the 14:08 dress. From the silhouette, cut and lines everything is so amazing
even today April 2020, I am in love with this design and collection...the cut, the elegance, the jewellery, the appropriate models for each piece, the set, the music, Lagerfield was pure genius...RIP
ABSOLUMENT FABULEUX ! DE LA TETE AUX PIEDS MR LAGERFELD JE VOUS AI TANT AIME .LA MAISON CHANEL A FASCINE AVEC CE GENIE LE MONDE ENTIER. RIEN N ETAIT DU A LA RUE AU CHEAP......KARL AU PATRIMOINE DE L UNESCO.CE MONUMENT LE VAUT BIEN.....CETTE FOIS ENTRE AUTRES REFLEXIONS C EST LUI LE PHARAON !
The most memorable music, set design and garment silhouettes from all of my recent Chanel viewings. I am a now sucker of Planningtorock Too Much playing repeatedly during quarantine time.
We're going back to the 20's! King Tutankhamun's tomb was found in the 1920s, and that's why there was an increase in Egyptian design and metal beading in the fashion industry. I'm thinking in the next few years we'll be seeing lots of 20s inspired designs.
Extremely beautiful, elegant and chic designs derived from the ultimate all time great Egyptian civilization..love the music.....love the whole vibe and the historical background. Bravo Bravo Karl
Vielen Dank!
This was an amazing and by far, the most decorative collection for Chanel. The artistry was spot on. The use of color is what I loved the most. I think the two men and child could have been eliminated as they looked a bit too much like costumes, but over all, this is my favorite Chanel collection. ❤️
Despite legally respecting Chanel codes, the silhouette is Egyptian. The richness of fabrics and the attention to detail make this collection desirable.
This is giving me Nefertiti goes to a private, exclusive and luxurious dinner on the Versailles palace and brings her whole entourage with her! EXTREMELY CHIC. EXTREMELY ELEGANT. EXTREMELY CHANEL. BRAVO!
Amazing! They incorporated very well the Egyptian concept to the brand, tho I think the show should´ve been called "Paris-Giza", didn´t see much NY(?). Love the soundtrack! My favorite is still Paris-Bombay 11/12 because the crafts, details and the exuberance not only were seen in the clothes and accessories but also in the montage and location, I hope they get back to that level of quality.
Thank god he ended his legacy with a huge push on model diversity! And of course the moment he passes away... Virginie is failing at keeping up with standards, everything shes directed since taking over just reverts back to the (outdated)European look
BRAVO to this collection! tasteful and interesting without losing classic chanel. the set was simple and hassle-free, and the soundtrack was sick! and i need to mention soojoo at 4:25; her whole look AND her attitude! WOOOOO! gave me chills
I loved the gold boots and the jewelry and some of the gowns with the sheer skirts and of course the textiles on the suits , I was not crazy about the hats and the hair styling overall.

There are people who can’t appreciate fashion and that it requires skill and creativity 🤷🏻♀️
They’re bitching that it is not look like an H&M collection, let me guess.....
Yes because metiers dart in English is artistic career
cameron taylor Thank you 😀
The colors, the movement, the music, the patterns, the beauty of art and craftsmanship is out of the world.
Cleopatra is dying for this collection, what an amazing show 💛

Amazing comment 😂
Double asp dose for me...

Last time he goes on Stage. Forever thankful to an icon and a truly inspiration. Love u Karl RIP 💔🖤💔
😢💔
The fabrics are incredible but the designs are not flattering and repetitive. The gold was too Vegas and looked cheap.
even today April 2020, I am in love with this design and collection...the cut, the elegance, the jewellery, the appropriate models for each piece, the set, the music, Lagerfield was pure genius...RIP
a LEGEND never dies!
I consider that, one of the best seasons of Chanel
Who would have tought that this would be the last time we'd see him on stage...RIP mr.Lagerfeld, legend💔 we love you

Wow this collection is spectacular.what a visionary .cudos.
I love Chanel models, they each make it so clear that the elegance is their own, but the clothes are proudly, and oh, just by the way, by Chanel.
