Hey Guys! I hope you enjoyed learning how to make different types of Maki-zushi (rolled sushi)! 🍣🍣🍣 What are your favorite ingredients that you would want in YOUR sushi roll?
Tuna with mayo, but honestly I am able to stuff all kind of ingredients. Yesterday I made1 tunamayo, 1 shrimp and carrots with honey mustard (I know, does not sound very apetizing). For me atleast the results were tasty. Slight problem was rolling the rolls even tho I have the bamboo mat. I am clumsy and the form was far from perfect.
Definitely going to try this soon! Thank you for being very thorough in the explaination. From how to make the rice to rolling to tips and tricks, this video feels very complete. Thank you!
I can’t believe I only just now realized futomaki and hosomaki meant fat and thin roll. They all look so delicious! Would love to give these a try along with everything you make. Always love watching your videos.
Awesome!! Really appreciate the sushi rice guide, something I need to learn. My favorite ingredients are tuna, spring onion, and shishito or jalapeño peppers 🙌
This video is great! I've made sushi a few times recently. it tastes amazing but always falls apart and makes a mess 🤣 Thank you so much for the explanation of how to roll properly!
Very clear, easy to follow instructions on making sushi. I didn't know about the trick of using foil if you don't have a bamboo mat to form the roll, good idea. I like having salmon or tuna in my sushi, with cucumber in some of them to add some crunch. I'll have to try doing this!
Sometimes! In the video I put a little bit too much into the first one but you can use a damp towel to keep it all together! At a sushi restaurant it’s a little bit more attention to how much goes in, but if you make it at home I say go crazy!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos and positivity !! Very insightful and great teachings !! Awesome !! Greetings from California … I wish you and folks good health, success and happiness !! Much Love ✌️😎💕
Good Morning 😀. Cooking your recipes has created so many memories here. I have a question though. With the economy in my area and meat and fish prices, I've been trying more vegetable based recipes. I'm curious if you have a good one to share?. Thank you for being such an inspirational person!.
Thank you for this video! I am so excited to try this! My wife and I are expecting so she cannot enjoy the raw fish rolls BUT the tamagomaki and kappamaki are winners still! I also have a question! You are trained chef, but are you also a trained fighter? I love your videos!
I love Salmon very much as it is my favorite fish. It doesn't matter whether it's Hosomaki, Sashimi or Nigiri. Futomaki is also delicious, but I eat it very rarely because this type is usually too fat for me. Hosomaki with cucumber is also delicious and brings Variety and freshness between the sushi with fish. Unfortunately, Ikura with Salmon Caviar is too expensive to eat often, although sushi is generally very expensive. But still damn tasty. However, I only like the Japanese Style of sushi. Not the American Variants because I often don't like them and they're not traditional.
After being smashed by work these last few months I'm so excited to sit down and binge your last few videos! So stoked to watch the omelette one next!!
Thank you for showing how to make sushi rolls that everyone can do. I learned from my grandmother, with many of the same techniques, but we had to fan the rice the whole time we folded the vinegar in!
That would not be recommended. Soju is a distilled liquor and has a much higher alcohol content (20-24% ABV) compared to Sake (9-14 % ABV). You can try substituting Sake with a light bodied white wine, a dry Sherry, or Chinese rice wine.

Hey chef, have you ever gotten a little too ambitious and made your roll too fat to roll?
Sometimes! In the video I put a little bit too much into the first one but you can use a damp towel to keep it all together!
At a sushi restaurant it’s a little bit more attention to how much goes in, but if you make it at home I say go crazy!
I always have the same problem when making burritos at home. 😋
Thank you for sharing your beautiful videos and positivity !! Very insightful and great teachings !! Awesome !!

My favorite sushi is a vegetarian one I've only eaten at home: cucumber, carrot, avocado, vegetarian pork floss, mayo! Veggie 💛
Amazing work! thank you so much for the fun video! And Shalom from Israel ❤

I have a question though.

Please, make a Poke. I Know its a Hawaiian dish but in Brazil is very common in Japanese Restaurant.
What if you don't have access to sushi grade meats. Is there a way to make them from a fish you bought or am I over thinking it? I'm American.
Great channel, fantastic videos. Well done & thank you!
Thank you for this! Hardest part is finding fish that at least someone at the store will say "yes, safe for sushi!"
I like how you end the video with cleaning the roller.
Good video. I personally don't like the taste of nori, so I tend to avoid rolls.
the most difficult thing in a sushi is to buy fresh good quality fish :(
Rice rice baby! Another knockout chef!
Excellent video, thank you.
I'm not sure if it's common but I like to add a bit of umeboshi w/ cucumber.
The moment he said fried chicken, I knew.
Vegetable/egg rice bowl please! 🍚
I f..reakin' need that knife!

Awesome tin foil tip.
Another Knock Out, Champ! Your explanations are clear and concise!

Didn't expect the salmon roe to look like one big glob. Looks funny.

❤
Looks so good!
Love the videos man.
Hi Champ, may I ask... Can I use Soju instead of cooking sake? Love your videos
That would not be recommended. Soju is a distilled liquor and has a much higher alcohol content (20-24% ABV) compared to Sake (9-14 % ABV). You can try substituting Sake with a light bodied white wine, a dry Sherry, or Chinese rice wine.
Traditional Japanese rolls are not popular. Mostly the Japanese eat them in Japan. Now baked hot rolls are popular.
my japanese girlfriend loves it when i give her my futomaki
Glad I already know this one champ! Love homemade sushi! Can't believe you let that abroad fellow on your show...lol
