The 2016 show was weird, but I thought it was some what good. (Also Season 2 had better animation)
Out of all the reviews for this game, this was bound to be the only one I'd watch. The kaiju toy collecting guy was bound to have the most interesting review. Gotta love how the Kongs all leave big black fart trails behind them when they walk.
This game had that feeling of “If we don’t put out a game with this IP by the end of next year, we’ll lose the license for it” type of game.

From what I understand, the development team was hired by the publisher with very little information about what the game was going to actually be, then they were only given the most basic of details about how it would be a an adaptation of the movie tie-in novel Kong of Skull Island. So they built the environments, programmed enemies, designed Kong and the bosses... and still had no clue what else needed to be in the game. Then upper management basically said "we don't care, just make the game."
All of it had to be done in one year too.
This game had the Potential, but it wasn’t the critics that got him. It was Greed, Greed killed the Beast.

You're right. Peter Jackson's King Kong game does deserve its own video. Whether it be on the Xbox 360, GameCube or PS2 (which is the version I have), it's a genuinely great game that still holds up today.
Also, many people including myself find this new game especially insulting as it came out during King Kong's 90th anniversary. Maybe when it gets to 100 years, Kong will finally get an actual good game. You know, something truly special and is on par or perhaps exceeds the 2005 game.

This is not the best introduction to the Devito-verse Kong stories, but thanks to its notoriety this will be the poster boy for it for years to come. Gaw deserved better than this.

@@BlUsKrEEm but that's just it... nobody cares. Kong fandom is already a pretty niche thing, and DeVito Kong fandom is even more niche. It's mostly just him piggybacking off Kong to provide a cheap license for Disney and Raw Thrills and Mezco to hop the Kong bandwagon. If Disney ever gets around to making that show, it will be much more of an introduction than this thing will be.

This could’ve been the most easiest kaiju game W to make if it was in the 2005 king king universe and it played like Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, where you take control of a tribe of Kong’s species.
As a massive Kong fan this was massive letdown. I hope we get an actual Monsterverse game with Kong that does the ape justice!
The crazy part is that this game is considered canon to the original 1933 film. It's part of the "King Kong of Skull Island" multimedia project which is authorized by Meriam C. Cooper's estate

So, apparently this game is actually based on a Kong novel from the 2000s, hence why it's not based on the Monsterverse or any other movie incarnation of Kong and why it has that weird "knock-off" feel to it.
It honestly reminds me of when Warner Bros. made that crappy direct-to-video animated musical "The Mighty Kong" in 1998 and based it on the novelization of the original 1933 movie because that was in the public domain as a legal loophole.
The fact that this happened *TWICE* is mind-boggling.

Oh, it's happened more than that. ANY adaptation that ISN'T specifically the 1933 film, 1960's cartoon, Toho, 1976 film, 2005 film, or the MonsterVerse is ostensibly based on the 1932 novel. That shitty Broadway musical was also based on it.
Now all we need is MIB to review The Mighty Kong.

I was going to say something about how bad the N64 Beast Wars game was, but it also applies to the show. But Beast Wars was literally the first all CGI cartoon series, so it's kind of understandable.
I am sad this game didn't turn out as a good Kong game, we haven't gotten a mainline Godzilla or Kong game for decades; i think almost 2 for Kong and 1 for Godzilla, then Kong gets a game and I was excited to free roam as Kong, hell maybe fight some dinosaurs, but I watched and read reviews and was disappointed, as a Kong fan, I hope they do something else with him in video games except 1 shovelware game and randomly getting him in Godzilla:Battle Line
Me and my dad watched “sometimes friends fight” and it was awesome we all loved it. The plot was better than my own show!!!! I rated it an 11/10. Not gonna spoil it though, I’m not a loser. Also this game i could tell it was not gonna be good at all, definitely not close to the King Kong 2005 game though.

Things they need to add to this game:
1. Better Graphics
2. More animations because there is limited animations
3. More ambience like birds, winds, rainfall, frogs and musics.
More Flora like flowers, grass, trees variants (that aren't palm trees.)
More landspace because it looks like Kong is in a giant cave maze.
4. Make NoCliping less easy into objects like walking through a giant rock and you go halfway.
5. It's a Nintendo game, make it have Mario graphics, the graphics in Temple Run look better.
6. Walking on plants causes them to fall down and move to the side.
7. At a far distance, you shouldn't have trees and plants disappear on the spot.
8. More Fauna like Birds, fictional Species like giant deer with wings named Wingla or something, frogs, fish, reptiles.
9. A entire world map. Like you can keep going and find a new biome or temple or kaiju or plant.
10. More biomes, stuff like jungles, mountains, forest, oceans and even monsters in the oceans.
And make King Kong feel giant and have actual boss fights against dinosaurs or giant spiders or something

Kimba the White Lion was a reverse Tarzan story first. It’s also a much different story from the Lion King, apart from sharing lion protagonists living in the savanna.

Based on his accent I'd say no, he doesn't sound Midwestern at all. He probably traveled for it, a lot of people do that for bigger conventions if they have the money to do so.
As long as it's not just a bunch of levels where you have to go through rings in a limited amount of time. Those of us who had to deal with the atrocity that is Superman 64, have a whole different threshold of what can be considered a bad game.

Fun fact: the N64 game was supposed to be titled "The New Adventures of Superman" to coincide with the cartoon of the same name that it was based on, but it's never actually shown anywhere.
Also fun fact: There is a game officially titled Superman 64 for the Commadore 64, and it is equally as buggy, cryptic, and unfun as its 3D nephew.
