Twelve Blooms

June 7, 2024 we had the most blooms of our Night Blooming Cereus, 12 blooms. Night-blooming cereus (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) is a cactus plant that produces large, fragrant white flowers that bloom at night. The flowers can be up to 9 inches across and open after sunset, staying open all night and closing in the morning. The plant can bloom in waves during the summer months, sometimes with as many as hundreds flowers open at once.
Our cereus has only been in place for a few years, so we are a long way from having hundreds of blooms, but we are looking forward to dozens of blooms.
