Thanks, it really is. You can find the different colors for the 40V impacts. It will be interesting to see if Makita starts shifting their batteries on all of their impacts. 👍🏻
@@garnerreviews I'm waiting. It's a patience game for me, lol. I gave my little brother my 18v tools, waiting on the 40v system. Home Depot just doesn't have a huge selection.
i own the exact one in blue, and i had mine brought to me from a guy who travelled to USA, since in my country we dont have amazon and most international brands aren’t available here 😅
I always wanted one but because I don't use it everyday so i picked up a makita clone lol. and after rewinding the stator I feel quite satisfied except the trigger switch ,, it is not a linear potentiometer, it is just stepped of 7 reistors
Hey, you got to do what makes sense for you. 👍🏻 Glad you found something that works for you and helps get the occasional jobs done. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great question. I have not used a Gen 4 Milwaukee Impact driver. I have held one and simply based on the handle ergonomics I think I would prefer to stick with Makita. However, if you already have Milwaukee tools and batteries it may make more sense to stick with Milwaukee. If this is your first tool purchase, then I would suggest holding multiple brands and selecting based on the brand that fits your need best and is comfortable for you. 👍🏻 Hope that helps.
They are! Honestly I think they may be the most durable bits I have ever used. I have been using them for some time now and I can't remember any that have broken. I would 100% recommend them. 👍🏻
There is a good chance you will see it the the US, but it can take close to a year sometimes before it makes it to North America. You may be able to import it from maybe the UK a little sooner and that will have the 9mm collet. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Glad to hear it. No they should both have the 13mm collet if it came from Japan. It seems that there are mixed feelings about using common 9mm bits (what we have here in the US and a lot of the rest of the world) and whether or not it is an issue. 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing.
The difference between the XDT version and the TD is that the TD models are made in Japan while the XDT models are made in China. The XDT models come in the traditional Makita blue while the TD versions offer multiple colors that may change from model to model. Lastly the TD version has a slightly different collet that has a deeper detent position. Other than that I believe they are the same.
I would suggest either eBay or Amazon. You can even log on to Amazon Japan and some of the items ship for very reasonable prices. But I have more recently been using standard bits with the 9mm detent and there have been zero issues. So you may be fine just using the bits you have. Hope that helps. 👍🏻
I like big batteries and I can not lie! 😂 In all seriousness though it doest' feel too large for the tool. But if you do need a smaller battery then the 3.0 AH or 2.0 AH should fit the bill. 👍🏻 It may also look larger because Makita changed the position of the battery in relation to the handle so that may be contributing to the image.
Sort of, I ended up purchasing a Japanese bit holder and made a small modification to it so that my 1” C6 or E6 bits fit in correctly. On a couple of occasions I have had to take the bit holder out and use something else and that hasn’t been an issue yet. I am going to try to use the proper 13mm bits in this Makita as much as possible.
Yes they are. For the most part they are using similar fastener drives with one notable exception being the JIS style drive which looks like Phillips but is different. So most of the Japanese bits should fit our fastener just fine. And they still use Phillips too I believe. So if you are looking for a Torx 20 let’s say, a Japanese Torx 20 is the same as any other Torx 20 with the exception of the detent position. I may do a video to help show what I mean more clearly if that would be helpful. 👍🏻
Sounds like it isn’t the right choice for you. 👍🏻 For myself and lots of others, we will gladly pay the price for a top tier tool, warranty or not. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@maotsubo Yeah Home Depot’s selection is small. Definitely better luck finding what you want online. 👍🏻
Is the some big difference between this one and 172?
i own the exact one in blue, and i had mine brought to me from a guy who travelled to USA, since in my country we dont have amazon and most international brands aren’t available here 😅
Glad you got your hands on one. It is an impressive impact driver and still my favorite. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting.

I agree. 😁 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Ive been waiting forever for this thing to come out in the USA. Are we ever going to see it
I really hope so. The long waiting game is what made me decide to buy one from Japan. Plus color options is fun! 👍🏻 Hang in there.
Hello sir, please share what the bit holder in the second part of the video? Thanks
That is the Malco C-RHEX Magnetic Hex Driver. Impacted rated and reversible! I really like them and recommend them. 👍🏻

When do they come to the US?
Tough to say, usually it takes a year or so to release in North America. 👍🏻
Are those wiha terminator blue bits and if so how do you like them?

I want. But they need to make usa version without Japanese bits

I never had an issue with normal US 1/4" shank bits on my Japanese td171. Is this new td173 different with that however?

Just insert a 5mm long hex cutoff...

There are usually several stores on eBay that are selling them. I just looked for one with good reviews and a reasonable price. 👍🏻
