- Like a lot of freelancers, when I started out my marketing budget was very small. I was keen to get out into the world and spread the word about what I do but I didn’t have the cash to buy hundreds of business cards - so I made some!
As I say in the video, I’m not suggesting that everyone makes their own instead of buying them. Professionally made cards will always look more… well, professional! Even so, if you’re new in business with a very small budget, or even if you’ve run out of your usual cards and need an emergency backup, these are a great option.
These cards are really simple to make and you don’t need any fancy equipment or design skills.

I learned a simple trick-if you don't have enough space on your paper to have a middle between the two cards, put a colored bar on the side of your card And leave out the middle. It looks nice and can help during the cutting process!

Thanks Hanna. I used a large scale printing company to order my business cards. I should have paid the express shipping, now I have nothing to put in the hands of potential clients. In total it will take 15 days from the time I placed the order.

why not just put on the card stock

Take your finished product to a copy place or office Max and have several duplicates run off.Then cut them up to card size.Also paste some artsy designs on to the back and have dual side copies run off on heavy stock paper.I do my own cards with no computer.Calligraphy isn't that hard to master.

Why not just print right onto the heavy stock? And why not use a paper cutter instead of scissors???
Not all printers have the ability to print on stock, but if yours does it will save time. Also, not everyone has a paper cutter. I don't!

Love the tutorial.
Though some overall video critique here, I recommend getting a pop screen for your mic. The popping and background noise is a bit distracting. Still a good video though =^-^=
