I think you will like that Ghost Miles. BassBoatElectronics upgraded my 2005 Triton TR186 when I moved out to East Tennessee three years ago with 2 FS 9's and a Ghost. It gave my boat new life and changed the way I fish. Those guys did a great job with the install.
I had my first day with it yesterday, and did a first impressions video that will post in the next few days, but in short I was very happy with it. VERY!
One feature that I have found extremely useful down here in Florida. Is utilizing the course lock feature through my graph with the Lowrance ghost. I’ll parallel my boat on a hard hydrilla edge and just hit the course lock button on the graph at a very slow speed and fish without having to even touch the trolling motor.
Just a heads up about my experience with the Ghost - The arrow on the head is often inconsistently off with respect to the head of the trolling motor and in turn the FFS AT2 transducer. It may be pointed a little to the left one time and then a little to the right when you move the head another direction. There are a few work arounds, but hopefully you don’t have any of those issues.
I had one for 30 days on my new boat, and the new noise cone made the arrow a nightmare. Took off and put my Force on. I have the Ghost for sale $3,000.
Had all Lowrance on my last boat and absolutely loved it! That ghost was awesome! I didn’t have any issues out of it. My new boat already had Humminbirds and ultrex, I decided to just keep it as it is. So far I’m happy with it, but I do miss the touch screen and the easy waypoint management. Now I will say you might miss that mega 360, honestly that’s Lowrance’s downfall. If they can figure out how to get around that patent HB owns and utilize a dedicated 360 sonar they’ll have the perfect setup.
Will be interested in your feedback on the Ghost once you have some time with it. Seems pretty bullet-proof. Been a MG guy for 5 decades. Amazing how a company can go from owning the space to not even being in the conversation.
MotorGuide is still very dominant in the lower priced trolling motor category, but yeah, it’s lost a lot of market share for the high end bass market. I’ll be giving some reviews as I put some real time on it, but I just did a first impressions video for the Ghost that I will be posting soon. Had a day on the water with it yesterday and I was thoroughly impressed, and overall very happy with it after my first day.
I run this system and love it, the only complaint i have is you can only use 360 when your aren't using anything else on the trolling motor. I get it and its an awesome feature but lowrance needs to come out with a stand alone system like hummingbird.
... "grass ninjas" ... that to keep grass from gathering on the prop. What about all the things mounted to the TM. I can't imaging the grass build up on the bottom of the TM in heavy SAV. Thanks, . Jeff .
Good question! I know when I get to Okeechobee I’ll be taking both AT transducers off the trolling motor. Most of my fishing the rest of the year I won’t have that issue but when I’m fishing grass I take off everything I can.
That "puck" isn't "for GPS function on the Ghost." It is ONLY a magnetic heading sensor dedicated to the Ghost. There is NO GPS function in that puck. The system gets GPS info from a Point-1 when one is installed.
That Ghost GPS puck is probably in the worst spot. Check EMF on the side of those PRO units and see what they read. I know LIVEs are terrible in that very spot.
Nice Miles i think you will like lowrance across the board.I run lowrance,no ghost yet.Looking forward to your feedback on it.Wish you all the best with the new rig.Thank you.
Love the 'Clean' look! Good luck this season!

Yeah, Im excited to experiment with it for sure!

Yeah, I’ve heard that before from multiple people. Mine was pretty good yesterday, but still had some lag. We will see how it does over time.

Great Video! We are so excited for you this year!
You guys are the best! Always getting my starting the season on the right foot!

Yeah, Im gonna miss the 360, however I never really got full functionality out of it because of the interference with the MotorGuide.

I look forward to giving it a try, but yeah, Im sure the functionality of it isn’t where it needs to be just yet, but happy to have the option.
I run a very similar setup, you're gonna love it. Couple of add ons I suggest is a set of grass ninjas and a troll tamer lock down system.

What about all the things mounted to the TM. I can't imaging the grass build up on the bottom of the TM in heavy SAV.
Thanks,
. Jeff .
Thanks for the tips!
... How is one expected to move through heavy SAV with all the things mounted to the TM shaft? The grass build up has to be massive.
.

Would you show your set up for your batteries/charger? Thanks
Yes, I’d be happy to!
Very clean install

Thanks for setting me straight on that! I’m learning a lot about this new trolling motor. Thank you!

did you get their screen protectors also????
No, i haven’t ever had those. Knock on wood, I haven’t ever had any issues.
Are you not getting a new boat this year?
No, I’ve decided to keep my 921 Elite for another season. It’s been a great boat and I’ve got it dialed!
Nice👍👍👍👍👍

I’ll be posting a video on my first impressions of the Ghost in the next few days. Got to get out with it today!
Can you share a package cost?
Yes, it would be around the 20-24k range for everything.
i ran my poles through the buttons on the ghost, REALLY BAD IDEA!!!! after 1-2 days that was changed!
Yeah, I wasn’t too keen on that idea either. My power pole foot switches work great and I’m used to them. Thanks!
I don’t understand WHY these professional rigging businesses put zip ties on the cables the trolling motor??? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
They mostly used electrical tape, except for a few areas where there’s little chance of movement or pinching.
