Trey thank you so much for putting this video out. This saved our butts yesterday on the lake. I updated my trolling and didn’t check it before I left the house. It literally saved our day.
Thank you! Just had the same thing happen to me. Drove an hr away and the lake had no signal. Drove back home found your video and now it works… thanks
Thanks for the info! My ghost stopped working after 12 months. It beeps 5 times and nothing. The firmware is up to date. I called a Lowrance tech and we did all we could. I called my local guy and it appears to be the heading sensor.
Another interesting tip. The procedure in the video did not work. Trailered back to the house, did it a couple more times and nothing. Then deployed the motor and tried it, AND THIS TRiCK WORKED. Not sure why it wanted the motor deployed, but it did the force update and started working normal again. Thank you for the video or I wouldn’t have even known where to start.
I will have some days in the water with no issues at all, some days were it randomly pops up and each time for my fix, I have to do manually turn the motor to a position I can lift it back to the tray and also do a factory reset. Its kind of scary, those windy days it just stops working, I have to turn the main engine on to get me to a good spot first, its kind of embarrassing and a time killer. Have you found a permanent solution to this?
Here are the other options for a rest if you need them. Perform a master reset: Hold 2&3 ( enter conf mode) Hold 1&2 Pedal will reset to 24V Next perform a pedal calibration: Enter service mode Hold 1andAnchor Enter pedal calibration Hold 3andAnchor ( until anchor light flashes) Move the pedal Heel down and toe down all the way in both directions Align the lower unit parallel with the mount ( no other orientation will work) Exit pedal calibration Hold 3 and anchor ( anchor light will go out) Exit service mode Hold 2&3 Last you will need to perform a bow offset Enter conf mode Hold 2&3 Steer lower unit in line with keel of boat Press and release the anchor button Exit conf mode Hold 2&3
It's fairly common that while the arrow light is flashing people aren't patient enough to let it finish doing it's thing. Walk away for 15 minutes and come back.
I am having this same issue as you describe. Originally I tried to update on the water but the installation "failed" (got an error message). The software shows that it is the 1.2.00 version now but I guess it won't push to the head. Tried the trick where you deploy it, no luck.
Has anyone ran into this when I go to stow my ghost out of the water it beeps 5 times then continues flashes until I turn the pedal of and back on then it works again! Everyone I stow it it does this!
If you haven't had it fixed yet it sounds like the head sensor. It's affecting tons of the units and lowrance is out of the replacement part, as of a few days ago.
Thanks for the info!! I was stranded today , I used your tip it worked first time!!! Much appreciated brother 👍🏾
awesome!

Awesome! It sucked when I got to the lake and I couldn’t get anyone to tell me what the issue was..
I recently had to do the master reset after it quit working midway through a trip last October. Computers 😡

Awesome! Glad I could help

Forcing the update info is found on page 19 of the owners manual under that same title.

Thanks for the info. I wish I would’ve seen this while I was still at the lake.
My question 😂- what kind of job do you have to be able to fish 3/4 days a week AND are y’all hiring??!?!?
Absolutely a great video thanks for the knowledge 2 👍🏾👍🏾 up
no problem
I sure hope owners manual is updated. Shouldn't have to hunt to find what can be communicated by Lowrance at purchase.
Where u headed up north?
St Clair
That is sweet to know
After your done with this fix...you didn't have to press the configuration keys again?

Not when fishing for $5000.
It better be right and work
I tried all the tricks. My ended up being a loose connection in the head at the board.
Any info on the ghost just beeping 5 times and not working?
Faulty heading sensor in the unit.the sensor cost about $18-$20
I’m having the same issue but the steps never corrected my issue. I can’t even get the thing to turn off. It’s been on for over 24 hrs blinking.
