Nice ride. Great to see how a pro sets up their boat. I too put my Livescope box in a compartment to make it easy to access. Ikon has done a great job making the stuff that can give you trouble easily accessible. Your explanation on BTL regarding this first model was spot on. Don't be defensive on the size and pricing.
Jacob, there are not many boats out there for your weekend fisherman. It would be nice for ikon to build one, a lot of us can’t afford $100,000 dollar boat.
After reading some of the other comments… of course an expensive bass boat is not needed to catch fish. However, JW is a top 0.01% pro tournament angler, that rakes in top placings consistently throughout his career. So, why not have the best of the best to fish on? Watching him throughout the years, it’s very apparent that he could fish out of a 17’ flat bottom with a 60 on it, a simple chart/sonar system, and out fish a large majority of the (toxic) bass fishing community lol. When you put in constant consistent work into your profession, you get the luxury of upgrading your equipment as you get better and more experienced. The whole stigma of new tech and electronics being bad for fishing is an odd take. If that’s the case, everyone against new and innovative equipment should be using cane poles with a hook and worm. Congrats on the recent win J dubs.
It's definitely a Cadillac of a boat, watching you fish out of it I can tell its well built, it's very stable, the deck looks like walking on a house floor, it's reallly been thought out with all of compartments, I didn't see where your power pole switches were, I bet when you were growing up not in a million years you thought I'm going to have my own boat company, congrats on it hope the company does well! 👍
It’s amazing to see the progression in the boating industry also awesome to see how much technology there is in fishing. Think about it ground wars and full scale naval battles have been fought with far less technology. All this to catch a fish. I love the boat I love fishing but as a whole who is the target audience for all these boat and equipment manufacturers? Truly what average person can afford this? Is that not why y’all have these sponsors, to sell us these same products? Just guessing: $130,000 boat $ 10,000 graphs $ 5,000 trolling motor $ 2,000 hotfoot $ 20,500 rods/reels $ 10,250 bait $ 22,250 misc gear Total $200,000 That would pay off my house. I’m happy for you I enjoy watching you but us normal guys will never come close to this.
I have came across ideas before but never knew how to capitalize on them. At least 10 to 15 years ago I came up with the idea of like a auto feed for the rejuvenate/ fish formula for the live wells. I actually sent a email to TH- marine and they sent me a email back. They wanted me to tell them more information but I didn’t know how to say it without saying it. I still have a idea similar but different.
My boat has a very similar steering wheel with the same chrome trim pieces and I noticed one of yours broke as well. Sure wish they would’ve used an aluminum piece there instead of plastic. It doesn’t affect anything but when you pay that much for a boat it’s annoying.
Food for thought. I researched this boat, with Power poles, spot lock, 250 Merc and basic front and rear 10" graphs this rig costs $120,000. Add four more 12-16 graphs it's approaching $150,000. THIS IS A BASS BOAT. I'm 77 years old and graduated from HS in 1965. The year I graduated from HS this same $150,000 would buy you a 2500'sq. house, ($30K) matching his and hers Rolls Royce Phantoms, ($66K) an Aston Martin DB5 ($16K) and a 40" yacht. This is ridiculous the world has become.
Hey man me and my grandson been watching the videos for about a year or so my grandson is joining the high school boat team this year trying to find someone that can sponsor a boat to him
Man that's a big step! Tell him good luck. Sponsors come with time and success on the water. I borrowed a boat and had to buy several before ever coming close to being sponsored by a boat company. Tell him to put his head down and invest time on the water if he really wants to pursue professional fishing
Put that head high brother and grind! I’m busting it myself to have the chance to fish with these guys, all I care about not the winnings, just the chance too meet these guys and in hope to hold a trophy one day that’s all I care about. Tell him to keep the grind!
Andy at Team Marine said it best. Excellent build quality, but a comical price. I can honestly say I’ve never wanted a company in the fishing industry to fail, but I hope iKon doesn’t sell. Bass boats have moved so far outside the realm of reasonable pricing it’s unbelievable. I’m not talking about the “working man” either. That person was passed up long ago. This brand alienates buyers who have white collar jobs with a sizable expendable income. I can justify a 70K or 80K boat. It’s a luxury item and not everyone can afford it. These boats however are the biggest joke in the industry with what they are asking. If they succeed then fair enough, but I hope they get a nice dose of reality.
Agree with you, unfortunately. With rising rates, I dont see a lot of these selling to guys outside the tournament trail or the ridiculously wealthy. Stuff was different when you could finance an 80k boat at basically free interest rates for 25 years and have it been cheaper than a normal car payment, but the payment on an iKon is gonna be more than what people are paying for their mortgage.
@@mylesG23 Yes 100 percent. Another point is if you need to finance a boat for 10 - 15 years or longer you’ve got an even bigger problem. You will end up so upside down in that endeavor your head will spin. Not to mention paying so much more than the boat is worth in interest payments. I have a 2018 19 foot Ranger and I’m wanting to get into a larger boat with a 225 or 250. We are buying a large piece of fiberglass with a motor. Going for a well cared for older boat and repowering or running the engine which is on the boat makes so much more sense for the weekend angler than buying new. If you’re fishing tournaments and have a discount through a dealer it’s one thing. You can break even. Buying an iKon MIGHT be one of the worst financial decisions a person can make. Let’s see how the resale value holds up on one that’s 10 to 15 years old.
@@fish4kbcf Resale values for boats are already notoriously bad. I saw a 2021 used Phoenix with 260 hours listed on boat trader a few weeks ago for like 62k, Ultrex, 4 graphs, power poles. 90k boat brand new. I think that's why you see guys with a brand new boat every year (not talking about pros, you see normal ass people getting a new boat every year like it's a new iPhone). If they're already 20k upside down, then f it why not get a brand new one. We bought one of Ranger's aluminum ones for the same price a brand new Nitro went for 5-6 years ago. Just sad.
Na, it’s the average Joe who keeps taking out loans to buy this stuff. There isn’t enough independently wealthy bass fisherman to sustain this. It’s us.
Really nice boat, just don't understand why everyone seems to have done away with decking running down the side of the seats so your rods on the deck can be further back. You have such a big boat but half the front deck is clattered with fishing rods. I cringe every time I see you guys kicking or standing on your rods.

More screens on that boat then on a Naval destroyer with AEGIS Missile defense system lol. Dude could track a shuttle launch. 👍👍🤘🤘
Mr. Wheeler I’m happy your riding in a boat I won’t be able to even look at !!! $144,000.00 it better be high end, it’s pricing out the little guy !!

This is most definitely on the high end of boats but if you haven’t got one priced at a dealer then you might not actually know what the price is.

love the boat too big and too pricey but amazing!! waiting on the 20 and 19 footers!

Where do you put the 4 foot Rapala jerk bait?😂 nice rig jw
Can’t go wrong with a triton
Two things.
Why an agm battery?
You have the seater option in yours?
They need to come out with a high quality 18.5 footer with a 150 HP on it that sells for under $40K.
Ok does it handle as good as a Sheeter
What is your reason for having your point 1 mounted on your graph mount
When electronics take over fishing. Lol
I never knew fishing was such big business.
So Jacob you're thinking about going with just a 16 at the dash?
I have gone back and forth on it for sure. I would be way more simplified

Nice boat. What battery charger do you have?
Damn even seat warmers
Yo Wheeler. Wth you doing in my spot lol? I fish that same exact spot in the early morning. They're usually caralling bait fish up on those sea walls.
What charges the back up batteries?
Why no lid springs on the back compartments?
You can't open the rear box with the seat back...?

120k-140k USA MONEY WOW
The name of this segment should have been "Ready To Roll"😅
Before 4:49 I thought he had a very small amount of tackle in the boat.
8:51 if speed is such a big thing with y’all, can’t you just make your graphs lay over so you get that speed back?
