Always a pleasure to watch your videos! I heard you live in Samui and I have some questions about it if you could help. I currently live in Germany as a professional Poker player, but given an upcoming new legislation I might be forced to move next year. Me and my wife were in Thailand in February and loved it (especially Koh Tao!), so we are also considering that option among many others. I was wondering how should we deal with VISA? Should we do some kind of VISA runs? Also, how much do you think is an average monthly budget for 2 people considering rent, food and services in Samui? Considering an average life-style, nothing too fancy nor too poor. Thanks!
Koh Tao is incredible! Not sure exact rents will vary place by place - I pay 11k baht currently for 35m place in Pattaya, I prefer 45m+ tho which is about right for 2 people sharing imo, would expect like 16k for this in Pattaya - imagine koh Tao around 12k - spends how modern and what type of stuff you want gym/pool etc. Food wise again depends how local you can eat - imagine 1.5k euros between you will be plenty
Do you have your own stable atm? With coaches etc. Looking to follow your path, I’m currently backed in a small stable for all online tourneys. Also got a group of people that will take my action at markup ( 1.1 -1.2) at live tourneys. I haven’t really been able to find real consistent success playing online cash, I primarily win online tourneys and win cash live (playing 2/5, 5/5, 5/10 either Holdem or 4/5 card plo). Currently have a 9-5 job but still put in atleast 160 hr a month playing poker. Looking to hopefully get a bink to do this full time. Any advice or tips?
You seem like a cool and genuine dude, gl in the future. Also would you say that people swapping action with friends to medigate variance is a big risk to the friendship.
Hello new subscriber here! If I don’t have the money yet for a coach what books or sites would you recommend for studying? Thanks for any information and take care ✌️
Idk how i stumbled upon your channel but be careful with poker. Many players have amassed millions, felt invincible, and it just vanished over a short period of time (variance, expenses, poor BR management, divorce, rent, hotels, $200 food per day etc). Anyway, sounds like you have yourself together. All the best.
Think you should talk more about the LSD and how we as poker players can solve our own problems or how to teach yourself ect! Also you should get a Monzo account that you can put money into all online and within the app you can exchange your Pounds into what ever currency you need or want, you can use it anywhere in the world without getting bank charges also! You should look into bro, then you can get around the whole £100k on a flight problem you had before.
Ginge Poker yeah I guess it would be quite hard if you’re going to play underground, because you’re going to receive cash back. Getting cash back to the uk is just as complicated as taking cash out of the uk! Hmmm, quite frustrating
Hey Ginge, firstly thanks for this. I've just found your channel and subscribed, and found it interesting. I earn quite well so my hourly of +£29 in £1/£2 cash games doesn't come close to exceeding a job I largely enjoy. But I'm forever curious if I could make it full time and this was a great insight for me. For now it's just a side-hustle. Can you (if not already), explain how backers work? Like you talk of buying your own action, but isn't that what I do when I put down money at the poker table? I mean I get that you can take a % of somebody in tornies, but how's it work playing cash live? Once you're making 6 figures monthly, why would you need backers at that stage, feels like you have sufficient money to ride any variance? I think I understand stables and make-up, I guess I would be curious how you go about getting recruited, and if you'd recommend? Lastly, I appreciated your mention of the teacher who let you figure out your own stuff. I'm very atypical in my play in that I much prefer being a post flop player. It tends to confuse decent players who struggle to put me on a range and with less good players I can outplay post flop when I have more information to work with. Like I know this is odd, and since entering my 2nd year of recording results I have introduced more variance (especially into my Fri/Sat play, with the less capable players), and this has increased my hourly although I now win slightly fewer sessions as a %. I'm curious for your take on this. Is it that I'm kidding myself with the benefits of my atypical play and now seeing the improved hourly means I've worked it out?
Hello mate maybe you don’t see this but I am feeling a little lost in life and slightly depressed, I dislike England, my job the way life is going, I turn 27 next year. Do you recommend just saying f*** it and travel to Asia? I am playing online and beating 100NL and have a 600k sample, if it went wrong I could also just come back home. Thanks
Great story. I was curious how you answered when interviewers asked you about your third at uni? How do u put a positive spin on it/how honest were you? Did you ever talk about poker at interviews? Thx
I like this guys stories, i grind 50nl on acr which isn't huge stakes but with rake back and bonuses i'm making around 4 or 5k a month which would easily be enough to live on in thailand. I really want to go there and experience living there for a bit i just wonder about the legality of a brutish guy living in Thailand, like how does it work? Do i need a visa? Also I've done a lot of LSD too :P have you seen the studies that it increases cognitive ability so could have a positive effect on playing especially if you micro dose. Have you ever considered micro dosing while playing? Like a small amount 20ug maybe, not enough to notice the effects but apparently it increases focus and improves cognitive ability. Scientists have proven this by micro dosing patients then giving them tasks to do while in an MRI. Anyway it's interesting. it was interesting to hear how LSD helped your brother too, i used to be super anxious all the time and sometimes get down because of that, since the first time I tried LSD it's like that anxiety is completely gone and i haven't had a single day where i feel down. This is also something that's been proven to be true, It activates part of the brain which are used for positive thinking long after taking it. They're successfully treating things like depression and even addictions with LSD. Anyway i'm done rambling, cheers for the video.
I have micro dosed lsd when playing... sometimes taken a bit too much in fact. Opens me up to the human side of the game more - then you see things you didn't see before. But you don't forget what you saw! So going back to non micro dosing is even better after you've played dosed!
@@GingePoker that's pretty cool, I sometimes play while on lsd, probably too much too though. I wait until the peak is gone but yeah I also feel really connected to the table. It's like I really feel connected to the flow of the table a lot more, at least that's how I feel. Like I start making some plays that aren't specific to the cards I'm holding but more based on the flow and feel of the game at that moment and it definitely seems to work. Usually I'm basing my decisions soley on the cards I'm holding and my opponent and whether it makes sense so playing while on lsd adds an extra element I guess the human element you mention that I often lack while sober. I'm yet to try micro dosing myself but I've heard good things, I mean I seem to play pretty well on higher doses so I don't think it will hurt, I wonder if I'll notice a difference because it's not enough to be high but apparently it does improve your focus. Guess I'll eventually try it one day. Anyway thanks for the great content 😎✌️
@@GingePoker i find the whole subject of playing on lsd pretty interesting. Like there's high stakes players experimenting with other drugs like adderall to increase focus so why not experiment with a drug that's been scientificly proven to increase cognitive ability, I also feel lsd is less damaging to the body. It has almost 0 negative effects unlike some other drugs.
I think gto is probably to micro dose Psilocybin tbh - but yeah I personally avoid stuff like adderall - but I am doing some more nootropic experiments maybe I can share in the future
@@GingePoker that would be interesting, I think people are definitely interested in this kind of thing. Personally I know nothing about nootropics so would be interesting to hear about. I'll be logging on and putting some hours in soon anyway, perhaps I'll try micro dosing this session lol. Look forward to your next video ✌️😎
you able to drop a hinter at the end of your story how you started makin 100-200k a month? live or online? obv understand if thats a detail you dont want to share
I'm you are staked to play poker it means someone else I'd providing your bankroll and you only get a % of the profit. So if I lose $10k one month - next month I would have to win $10k first before I started to make money. The $10k is called make up.
Whats man. So im a student just finished uni. Been playin poker bout 5/6 years not consistently but do quite well. Lot of pub tournys, maybe 50 -100 people larger ones every now and then. When i play. Basically id lodge money into a few tournys online and cash quite a majority. Not mad buy ins but anyway. Iv been obsessed about committing to it and learning more like its basically all i want to do for the rest of my life but its that first step to risk going for it i cant do. What do u recommend? So how did you suddenly have 200k months? Was that from live games or was it from the apps?
High stakes live poker

This is super inspiring
What does «clear my makeup» mean? Or whatever you say after you describe how much you make that month
I'm you are staked to play poker it means someone else I'd providing your bankroll and you only get a % of the profit. So if I lose $10k one month - next month I would have to win $10k first before I started to make money. The $10k is called make up.
Isn't that the risk they take though? You shouldn't have to give that back, it's an investment they've made that hasn't worked out
sick crib too
Talk about inspiring!

Thanks man
I'm going to make a video about this! Thanks for tuning in :)
Don't try to go pro (hobby is fine ofc). Find another job
Johnny why not pro? Feel like does that fail at it dont commit to it enough or half arse it. Very confident in myself but yes still that nervousness i suppose
