@@rtb3232 WHO CARES ABOUT SUBSTANCE? Alright, then. Duel of the Fates is what determines what happens to anakin. Darth Maul is the reason anakin couldn't be trained by Qui-Gon, who was like a father to him. But since Qui-Gon dies, it's Obi-Wan who trains him. Obi-Wan is more like a brother to anakin than a father, so they bicker a lot. The Duel between Yoda and Count Dooku determines whether the clone wars becomes a thing, because if yoda would've killed Dooku, Palpatine would've had no one to actively be controlling the separatists so the clone wars either wouldn't happen, or they would've happened, and it would have ended much quicker. The Anakin and Count Dooku fight determines how anakin would react to mace windu trying to strike down Palpatine. The Anakin and Obi-Wan fight ends with either anakin burning or obi-wan getting killed by anakin. It ends in Anakin burning nearly to death, but Obi-Wan could've easily killed anakin and palpatine wouldn't have an apprentice to conquer the galaxy with, and it would've taken a long time for Palpatine to find Luke and/or Leia since they were hidden away from the emperor. And if Obi-Wan died, vader wouldn't have to live his life more machine than man, so he would be much more powerful than if he had to live behind the mask. Also, Obi-Wan wouldn't be able to take care of luke, so luke most likely wouldn't learn about the force because leia couldn't send the message to Obi-Wan because he isn't alive. You say the OT has much more meaningful fights but the fights of the Prequels are the reason everything in the OT. There was actually more goofy and cringe shit in Original Trilogy than Prequels imo. I mean, Yoda is a bumbling childish idiot when training Luke amongst so many other dumb things.
@@Ciaranchelseafc Yeah, when you look back at it, it was very cringy. I remember the first time I saw the original trilogy though and I was stunned. The prequels captured that same energy for me, the sequels did not.
I mean it was the prequels that changed Yoda’s personality. Not to mention he actually gives good advice in the OT. There’s certainly goofy moments but it’s pretty tame compared to the awful dialogue, questionable acting, and politics that didn’t make much sense.
I didn't have my glasses on, so I read the title as "Ewan McGregor Chooses Obi-Wan's Lightsaber and Rey Parks Trains" and I was already nodding in agreement with Star Wars Theory how this is the exact reason why the sequel trilogy went how it went compared to the other trilogies. Then I started wondering what I've just read....
The amazing thing about Ewan is that he was so intense in his sword training that he kept bending so many of the metal props that they had to keep fixing them and getting more.
Love this footage of all of them... Further proof of all the passion and hard work that was put into the prequels... That lightsaber dueling was an art, not sloppily flailing about. Also... I considered not typing this, but Ray has worked so hard for so many years just waiting to have a shot at coming back... I’m so curious about this: If you were in that situation, where you had to pick which light saber hilt you were going to have, which of those 6 hilts would you choose? Personally, I would’ve gone for the hilt that would’ve been Kit Fisto’s.
I've heard, but am not sure (I never checked), that Ray Park has quite a bit of martial arts skill irl along with acrobatic skill irl. That's a perfect combo for an actor with little to none to train with. They're both learning their roles, but Park's prior skill can be used to help Ewan make his own act fighting look sharper even if they work on it one on one without the choreographers or the trainers around. The same thing for Qui Gon's actor (I just woke and can't think of it at the moment). So this was awesome to see.
I never noticed how much of Liam Neeson's fighting style is just slight wrist movements almost like he's trying to deflect and not directly attack. that is really cool.
Broooooo when ewan was picking his lightsaber there I saw that there was plo koons lightsaber and kit fistos lightsaber I’m the briefcase cool to see that they still used the other ones
Looks like Ray took a blow to the face with that black eye and swelling. Goes to show the dedication and actual dangers of the choreography. Fair play to everyone involved.
Gotta give it up to Ewan. Ray was going kinda hard and Ewan was keeping up with him. Pretty impressive considering he doesn't have really any fighting experience.
It's crazy that he got a free choice of hilt design, and just happened to choose the one with the closest resemblance to the one Alec Guinness used, with a bell-shaped emitter and notched pommel. And then Neeson happened to pick the other one with the silver-and-black look, so you could see the similarity between master and apprentice.
So Ray Park actually came to my uni on Fresher's Week to do some lightsaber fighting displays etc., and I persuaded my flatmate to come along even though she wasn't into Star Wars at all. The final part of the show was picking people from the audience to do one-on-one combat AND RAY PICKED MY FLAT MATE. I was SO mad (obviously not his fault, more her for putting her friggin hand up!) and I've never forgiven her for that.
I remember in my early teens, when my brother and I were going to our dad's house every weekend, he took us to Wal-Mart, I think, and bought us a couple of those Force Action Lightsabers. My brother got Darth Vader's, and I got Obi-Wan's. I thought it was odd that the box had an image of Obi-Wan from Episode 3, but the lightsaber itself was from episode 1. I still keep it around, even though I am currently 30 years old.
That's so neat! I'm glad to see them practicing, haven't ever all this time. Thanks for the video! Yeah, and that they were metal pipes, like you said.
I've watched this footage so many times during the prequel production and I always was amazed at how much work they had to put in to make sure it looked good, and it STILL had flaws even post production and the CGI of the day could not fix....Yet still an amazing performance.
I like this footage of the actors training before filming Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson and Ray Park are brilliant.
Just awesome. You can really tell they’re all working hard and mastering the choreography. And amazing choreography as well. Something the new trilogy just lacked...
The prequels have amazing lightsaber fights. They were choreographed amazingly and they were super fast. I especially love Maul vs Obi-Wan and Qui-Gan and Obi-Wan vs Anakin.
Still the dopest lightsaber duel in Star Wars. Wasn’t just the choreo, it was the camera angles too. We actually got to SEE all the movements like we were spectators-without all the quick camera cuts.

Like, of course, there was some cringy material here and there, but everything was pretty sound in comparison to the shit storm we got after Disney took over.
There was actually more goofy and cringe shit in Original Trilogy than Prequels imo. I mean, Yoda is a bumbling childish idiot when training Luke amongst so many other dumb things.
Rebecca Denicola I’ve always known: prequels = GOOD sequels = SHIT
@@Ciaranchelseafc Yeah, when you look back at it, it was very cringy. I remember the first time I saw the original trilogy though and I was stunned. The prequels captured that same energy for me, the sequels did not.
1000% agree
I mean it was the prequels that changed Yoda’s personality. Not to mention he actually gives good advice in the OT. There’s certainly goofy moments but it’s pretty tame compared to the awful dialogue, questionable acting, and politics that didn’t make much sense.
I can hear grievous breath very deeply when watching this vid
More like Grievous’ coughs
Ewan has great respect for his work and things he is learning. I respect him and appreciate his effort. Great actor *for* these movies.
I like how the hilts that ewan didn’t choose went on to be used as props for other Jedi later on in the prequels
It's so impressive getting to see it at the real speed.
Holy moly... he could’ve chosen Qui Gons... can’t believe such a small choice made a big difference.

Hi Everyone!!
Yup hello there
@@lexi46960 General Kenobi!
@@lexi46960 This Is Where The Fun Begins
Love this footage of all of them... Further proof of all the passion and hard work that was put into the prequels... That lightsaber dueling was an art, not sloppily flailing about.
Also... I considered not typing this, but Ray has worked so hard for so many years just waiting to have a shot at coming back... It's none of our business really because it was stated by his wife that it was an accident/mistake... No intentional harm was done and the Twitter mob tried to make up a whole entire nasty story about him to try and cancel him... This won't be his end. His dedication and what he's brought to this character that no one else could is to be admired and respected. Time will heal things regardless... Has to.
Will you do a video on the Ray Park news? I'm hoping Disney realised their stuff up if the wife's claims are 100% true and we can get the Maul show we deserve.
Crazy Ray Park still training with a black eye
Fr
She posted on her Instagram, I think it was yesterday saying all the rumors of her cheating on him are false but the video of the act was real.
It would've been more believable that he didn't intentionally post the video if he had claimed that a friend stole his phone, haha, he didn't do it.
@@CorporalLoth no one fired jen Lawrence, granted not her fault she was hacked. The point is we all do silly things like this but a company will choose to disassociate themselves from the fact someone had some lewd photos or an act.
In reality, this will be forgotten in a week and the people who actually care are ready to throw money at disney for a maul show; and unless they cast Sam Witwer they're not getting mine
Also in reality no one knows who Ray Park is apart from us full on fans. If he was as popular as Ewan Mcregor you could gauge that from his insta following, but he's not, only his character is popular
Who knew over 20 years later that Ewan McGregor would become known to so many people as THE definitive version of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He really nailed the role. He was the star of the prequels in terms of acting.
It's cool that they let him choose his own lightsaber. I also like how George let Samuel L Jackson choose his own lightsaber color which was unique from everyone else. George resisted it at first, but it helped make Mace Windu into a unique character, which he was.
Well it helped that when this came out Alec Guinness hadn't played Obi-Wan in like 15 years. Kind of helped replace him with Ewan and all that.
Ewan choses his lightsaber and ray park shows his
Watching the clips of Ray Park and Ewan sparring in prep for their fights scenes to this day is still one of thw coolest things to watch for me 👀
So damn committed.
Ewan Mcgregor IS as much as Obi Wan Kenobi as Sir Alec Guinness was ❤
then lets look at the sequels, literally just rey flailing a weapon she touched once
we get it ThE SeqUeLs aReNt ReaL sTar WaRs until they make the next trilogy and you start talking about "well actually the nuances of the sequel were underappreciated and these new films suck" like fuck off first off we can already destroy your argument w the fact that the girl is a palpatine and lived on a fucking desert planet more desolate than tatooine by HERSELF for YEARS WITH A LARGE STAFF. Do you think she didn't learn the basics of melee combat by then? And then there's SEVERAL scenes of her training AND SHE STILL WASNT AS STRONG AS BEN SOLO. Just say you never get laid and go on with your fucking day let the kids enjoy their new star wars.
@@SadboiShinobi22 shut up the sequels are ass just deal with it
@@SadboiShinobi22 the major flaw with the new trilogy is that there is a huge lack of creativity. They are basically just bringing back old concepts (look at VII) aswell as old characters (Palpatine etc.). Everything is too disneyfied and looking at how mandalorian has turned out its clear that even disney couldve done better.
@@SadboiShinobi22 even the kids hate it.
The toys won't even sell.
The sequel trilogy put the best source of revenue to shit and ruined it. Stores will barely take them.
Does your name stand for The Divide?
Like how Disney is Up the divide to your ass?
@@lukepressler6395 not near as good dueling as the prequels tho...
When Obi-Wan first engages Maul, it's the best lightsaber combat of all the films.
You mean once Maul kills Qui-Gon? I agree that opening flurry of blows between Kenobi and Maul once the ray shields come down never fails to get my heart pumping
@@symundin9754 Yes.
Meanwhile, the Sequels looking like 10 year old me playing the backyard.
Wow. The methodology of letting Obi-Wan pick Obi-Wan’s saber is golden.
Hey I Love The Vids And I Love Star Wars Soooooo Much Keep Up The Amazing Videos Man :)
Ray Park's leg movement is so on point, his body moves perfectly.
Imagine not just having stuntmen trip over themselves to make protagonist look cool
Obi Wan is really good at portraying Ewan McGregor 🤯
When qui gon died the way obi wan attacked maul was the most ebik thing I've ever seen
From 1996-1997 Ewen went from Choosing heroine (Trainspotting) to choosing a lightsaber in the span of a few months 😂😂😂
I’m so curious about this: If you were in that situation, where you had to pick which light saber hilt you were going to have, which of those 6 hilts would you choose? Personally, I would’ve gone for the hilt that would’ve been Kit Fisto’s.
Same!
I loved the first one. I grew up loving this one
Everytime I see him in the corner of the screen like that, I feel like I'm watching a disciplined and actually likeable Tyler1. I have spoken.
And so it begins
I never noticed how much of Liam Neeson's fighting style is just slight wrist movements almost like he's trying to deflect and not directly attack. that is really cool.
Broooooo when ewan was picking his lightsaber there I saw that there was plo koons lightsaber and kit fistos lightsaber I’m the briefcase cool to see that they still used the other ones
I still have my Obi-Wan lightsaber from when Episode 1 came out. I was in the 8th grade.
Sucks he won’t be coming to reprise his role as Darth Maul...
What do you mean? He did it twice in the last 2 years, in solo movie and did mocap for clone wars season 7
@@danzansandeev6033 he means more content because ray park put out a video on instagram of getting head or something
Looks like Ray took a blow to the face with that black eye and swelling. Goes to show the dedication and actual dangers of the choreography. Fair play to everyone involved.
Where are the live streams at for the behind the scenes of the films? Just asking because I really enjoyed those streams!😁
It's always fantastic to see Ray Park kicking ass.
This is sick 🔥
That was awesome. I love behind the scenes stuff like this.
Hope they dont replace park.
he literally posted revenge porn of his ex, and she and his daughter came out saying he was abusive. you cannot be serious.
@@DigPug13 you should research more before believing bs.
Gotta give it up to Ewan. Ray was going kinda hard and Ewan was keeping up with him. Pretty impressive considering he doesn't have really any fighting experience.
Didn't you upload this on your second channel?
Does anyone else know why these are shorter? And feels like they are started in the middle? I'm so confused at what is happening on episode 1.
Ewan McGregor is my FAVORITE JEDI and his fight with Anakin Skywalker was the best scene out of every movie of Star Wars!
Disney will take Ray Park back when the fans unite and demand they give him a chance
The behind the scenes stuff from The Phantom Menace was the best part of the movie.
0:05 Just like the simulations
I feel so relieved to read the comments and see so many fans that love prequels as much as I do.
Can you do a theory about if Maul was the master and Palpatine was the apprentice and Palpatine went on the mission to kill Queen Amadala?
??
It's crazy that he got a free choice of hilt design, and just happened to choose the one with the closest resemblance to the one Alec Guinness used, with a bell-shaped emitter and notched pommel. And then Neeson happened to pick the other one with the silver-and-black look, so you could see the similarity between master and apprentice.
Phantom Menace has the best lightsaber duel, from choreography to the music, still takes my breath away
You literally sit there and say nothing. There is no reaction or commentary. You could've just posted the video without your mug
Ok
The right picture of the thumbnail looks like that dude went to trial for murder.
I love your channel please make more videos like this!
Ray Park is a bad ass that didnt get enough credit!
Cool! This is already history! It's a pity that creation diaries were not too widespread then. Thanks for the video! Brushed away a nostalgic tear!
For the third trilogy they decided to go in a new direction: make sure the cast looks good and "forget practicing, it will be more authentic".
Ray Park (Darth Maul) was and still is probably one of if not the best duelist in Star Wars actors history. Ewan is incredible as well!
That's so neat! I'm glad to see them practicing, haven't ever all this time. Thanks for the video! Yeah, and that they were metal pipes, like you said.
the fights in the prequels were very realistic. Like something you'd expect people with actual laser swords to fight like.
The grace and precision on Ewan Mcgregor ❤❤❤
He IS Obi Wan 🙌🏻
I've watched this footage so many times during the prequel production and I always was amazed at how much work they had to put in to make sure it looked good, and it STILL had flaws even post production and the CGI of the day could not fix....Yet still an amazing performance.
Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Maul all trained by Cin Dralling what a good scene!
Unreal how that exact duel was in the movie and ended up being one of the greatest duel sequences in all the films. Ugh the nostalgia
Love this channel. Always has the best hidden gems. Keep it up bro!
Even without his Darth Maul disguise, Ray Park looks like a scary guy you can't fuck with.
Seeing all of the designs presented the one he chose is honestly the best
Don't know how many times I've watched the. Can't like it enough. Ewan Goes hard af
Obi-Wan had the best duels in every prequel film. Amazing.
Very cool. I didn't know Ewan picked his own hilt. Thanks for sharing!
Ray looked so good back then, true Maul
This shows that these actors had more passion than the sequel trilogy
