  • This is the Mahogany version, the A1M, very similar to the Rosewood version, the A1R that I showed you a few videos back.

Owned an A1M for 8 months. Its been called the "best sounding" guitar in the room more than once. Hard to believe its Chinese, but I've always figured people all over the people can create high quality if given the best tools and production methods. Would love to compare it to the the Yamaha Red Label Japanese model.

I tried a Seagull, a Martin, and Takamine. The A1M won out. Everything about this guitar felt superior... and the sound! Now own a A1M.

That A1M Yamaha is a real bang for your buck. It is very nice with great action you'd be surprised.

I went through a couple of guitars until I landed on this one and haven't looked back! On my A1M the battery compartment (2 double A's) is on the top section of the instrument near the twelfth fret as opposed to the bottom of the guitar. Any thoughts as to the location change?? Maybe tonal, aesthetics, etc.

They are excellent - not sure on the location change - possibly ergonomics in operating it?

It's long gone but I think they were D'Addario phosphor Bronze medium lights.

    Hello.
Which of the two models (A1M or A1R) has a less bright sound, that is, a little warmer, my purchase will depend on that, I prefer a less bright and less metallic sound, more on the round side.
    Thanks.

That's how I felt before I picked one up, inspected it, and plugged it in. Perfectly solid and it was 3 years old.
