28:45 After years of doing daily vlogs, Casey felt that he had filmed everything he possibly could already and there was nothing interesting left to put into a vlog. One day, he and his buddy just went out and skated, got some footage, and threw it into a vlog. One of his rules is to never let comments affect him unless there's some truth in there, and he saw a comment that said:
"Feels like Casey is out of ideas and he's just doing this now for the views."
He knew it was true and a week later, he stopped doing daily vlogs.
Thank you! I wasn't gonna sit through all this shit to find one clip! You're awesome
Legend!
It's an absolutely fascinating and fun conversation, seems a real shame that people are here just to grab the clickbait and leave but that's the state of the world I guess 🫤
Getting Casey to sit down for 3 hours is the most impressive thing I've ever seen

So true hes like a bee in a bottle ,❤
This might be my favorite Casey interview. Love the deeper, real questions that you asked him. Very insightful. Great job!
UA-cam needs to promote this pod, man.
I'm subscribed and still I had to search for the pod, come to the page, click on all videos and THEN I saw this video posted.
Well I'm not sub'd and it was suggested to me today (Apr 5)
Mark is grinding and I’m here for it. Testing shorts, new thumbnails, constant uploads. LFG 🔥
Such a cool dichotomy seeing someone at the start of their UA-cam career and someone who’s achieved so much.
Probably the best interview I saw with Casey. Well done! The room tone alone is so effortless to listen to. Thank you for sharing.
Is this the same guy from andrew schulz pod?
This is easier to watch
I know right?
What do you mean by this? I watch him on that pod too, but don’t remember. I think it’s more the host that changes the vibe of the show. The types of questions on each would be way different.

So much better, it's hard to believe it's the same person! I can't watch Flagrant any more but i love this.
yes he is..cool dude.. love Andrew S
Thanks for putting this together! I really appreciate the attention to detail in not only your composition, but just the genuineness of your conversation with someone that has had an impact on my creativeness in making videos and films.
"Welcome to Camp" and then the music starts.... I get CHILLS every single time
Why just curious no ill intent
Amazing episode! 👏
Great insights and inspiration from Casey! 😎
This is such a good listen. Thanks mark! Keep on keepin on✌🏼
This conversation really inspired me. Thank you for this gift 🙏 love you two
29:39 "It feels like Casey's out of ideas and he's just doing this now for the views". - This is a very thorough interview so if you've got the time go for it. But most people don't have 3 hours of spare time and appreciate having their question answered right away.
Great episode dude! I listen to about 30-35 podcasts a week (have a lot of alone time with my job) and you are genuinely becoming my favorite to listen to man. Keep it up!
what do you do? genuinely interested

What I like about this pod was Mark's ability to extract some New perspective from Casey that I haven't heard before. I've been following Casey probably since 2016 and I've probably stumbled across every single podcast he's been on. And a lot of the interviewers kind of asked the same question so we get the same story over and over, but I felt like we were able to get some unique stuff out of this segment.
Just subbed my brother!! Love it already. I need to get Podcasting again. Create to create is the mindset these days. Create to love the process.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I’m learning so much from it this is awesome!
Such a good episode! I really related to what Casey was saying about introspective thinking and anxiety. Thanks for the talk!
27:39
I dig Casey's stuff, at least some of it but I'm too busy making my own stuff to watch so many other people's content. But yeah never heard of this guy so I guess Casey brought me here.
Hundreds of billions?
Great interview! Thoroughly enjoyed it...and the audio is A+! Which studio mic are you using?
Looks like a smb 7
Shure sm7b. You do not need one. Use a sm58.
Loved this one. Such a natural conversation. Keep it going Mark!
Great podcast. You're easy to listen, not over doing it. Ive seen a few and decided to sub. Youve got something going on here...keep up bro, looking forwaed to see what you have in the future.
Thank you!
@29:46 “Feels like Casey is out of ideas and doing it for the views” that’s the answer to the title of the video!
Thanks bruhhhh
I'm only 13 minutes in, and already, I regret clicking on this video. Not because it's bad, but because I now have to move everything that I was supposed to do for the next 3 hours into a "tomorrow" pile - and finish the f**king video.
Solid energy, great stuff man.
Thanks for making this happen.
This was an AWESOME interview. I didn't know bro had a youtube channel of his own. Subscribed!
This was so good, at the start telling people what they'll getting from the pod even, BADASS Mark!
Love this, found you by accident and Glad I did, I'm intrigued by the studio space, is it a yurt?
Amazing questions Mark, you could see the happiness and proudness in Casey’s face is palpable. Amazing job mark, you’re just starting out but I have the utmost faith in for the future of podcasting/interviewing. KEEP IT UP DON’T STOP CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE!!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Camp babyyyy, forgot to be one of the first when I started watching around upload time but it's okaaaay
Great interview. I'd love to see someone with Casey's stature do a video on the many problems NYC is facing right now. He mentioned them in this video, but I've never seen him do a video on it. So many people don't watch the news anymore and his audience needs to see what is really going on.
This could be good - what I’ve gathered from him any time his message revolves around NYC, it seems he prefers to shed a positive light on the city despite the past/present issues. Even alluding a bit to it here in this interview - despite the grime that is NYC - it is still a beautiful place filled with beautiful people and experiences.
@@pinkyandthebrain99Cash Jordan has been doing a really good job of showing what is going on in the city.
@@AllenRReid I’ll check those out, I’ve never watched his videos.
@@pinkyandthebrain99 He used to focus on showing apartments as a primarily real estate type channel, but has branched out to show what's going on in NYC. Does a great job of storytelling.
Our phones are like that scene from The Fifth Element movie where Leeloo searches “war” on the computer. Only we don’t have to search…it is spoon fed to us. Excellent interview/podcast. I truly enjoyed it. Thank You!
Oh let’s go!! We ready for Camp! 💯
Mark you're onto something here! Great work once again.
didn't expect this collab and it didn't disappoint! it's one of the best interviews casey has given in years!!
winter park! good times...did you go to full sail, too?
LOL when it cut to Morgan and Morgan sponsor section I can remember being in high school at Colonial High School in the late 80s and living in Park Manor / Union Park having them everywhere even back then.
It’s been 3 months since I’ve actually been excited to listen to a podcast, thank bro
Way back in the day, before the fame of UA-cam, when he had the Neistat Brothers on HBO, I sent an email to them telling them I loved the show. Soon after that I received a DVD of the show from them (could of been a bootleg made by them), one of those pens that has four colors of ink and Casey's name on it and a couple of other things. Unfortuneatly I lost the pen a few years ago.
Your gonna make me buy UA-cam premium with all these ads😂 fire pod though and I'm only 35 min in
Best subscription service I’ve ever bought. One- you don’t see the Google ads anymore and two- your premium view actually means more than a regular non premium view. 😎👍
@@KING_PHILLIP oh shit I didn't even realize that. Yeah I've been thinking about it for a minute now bc I spend like 10 hours a week on UA-cam 😂
Thank you non premium user for saying this that's a shame he puts a lot of ads I remember before premium I would stop watching channels that would put too many ads

Markito moving crazyy! Glad to be watching CAMP since the FIFA streams
This us a great podcast! Good stuff
Damn this interview feels so chill and authentic
Great channel - so happy Casey is doing a bunch of pods ☺️☺️
Why is this dude still on the Flagrant podcast. It feels like he’s underselling himself by staying on there.
Great thumbnail and title, had stuff to do but had to click and watch
Watched every minute of this, thank you sir, great interview
Loving it so far - but tell Casey we’re still waiting on that DD doc he’s holding onto.
Will you ever put video on Spotify?
i will be honest, never watched such a long video, you both are great guys, i wish you all the best in your life, so much stuff that i can stick to my heart.
Casey's outlook on life is so inspirational. I've started and quit UA-cam many times for both right and wrong reasons. I've finally started my podcast and I'm enjoying it more than ever, despite getting next to no views!
Expression of art, by any means, where a person consuming what the artist makes at a given moment is called the “aesthetic contract”. Peak meaning is in the moment where the viewer just is immersed in and gets it.
Wow keep it up great conversation luv this shit 😊
great pod
@ 1:19:28: I’ve never related more to a YT video. Casey nails exactly what I’ve been struggling with. So much so that I stopped uploading at the height of my popularity and removed the majority of the videos from my channel.
Best podcast Casey has ever been on, Mark is a great host.
Awesome inspiration to life! "Cultivating kindness one seed at a time" 🌼🌼🙏🙏🌼🌼
48:33 I’m so getting a flip 😂
Can you interview Charles Trippy fam? that would be dope
Man this should have more views love seeing Casey in long form content truly an inspiration
thanks for bringing this up again... being broke is the worst thing can happen and money is all you can think about
Caseys You Tube dailys kept me sane when i was going through the loss of my husband, im forever grateful
great guest man. casey is always inspirational :)
From the Napoleon Dynamite ball-pit to having the YT king on as a guest! You love to see it! 🎉
Even the intro alone is straight fire
Happy you got Casey on!
1:06:41 there is no 72nd and 7th lmao that corner would actually be underwater in the park
I still miss Casey's daily vlogs ... even if they're about nothing serious in particular ... like a Seinfeld episode! And we all love Seinfeld! Hoping Casey will get back to vlogging some day.
When mark asked Casey which filmmaker would be great on UA-cam. I instantly said Spike Jonze and then Casey said it. Spike Jonze would be amazing! He would def be a UA-cam today if he had to start now.
This is a Crazy podcast episode!
Would love to connect and have you on our show...
Love that this video is 2 hours 55. Close to Casey’s dream marathon time.
Bro I'm 90 days off cigs and nicotine that segment has me wishing for world War 3 lmao
woah mark has smart takes and is actually a good interviewer.
GREAT episode
first caught Casey on flagrant, then checked his channel and more out, fantastic guy!
shortest 3 hours of my life
Love Casey’s creative, imaginative, colorful description of everything he articulates.
Fantastic episode. Casey is one of the most important people in the world. He’s unintentionally changed the way millions of people create, including me.
I like what he said about ai. Being fanciful becomes the thing to do over stylizing what was a genuinely good artistic idea at the start.
And what else comes with it is the craft is taken out so ease of access becomes greater. So everybody is able to do something that once required improving a skill. Which leads to the end product suffering.
And then the people who join in with the proliferation of the lack of needing the skill become more self aggrandizing about things that take no skill at all to do. And get very angry if you point that out.
Like what has happened with autofocus cameras for photographs and video. Cameras are tracking eyes and shooting over 20 frames a second with photographs and able to autofocus for video.
And people are saying "look how good I am" when their skill amounts to pointing in the right direction and keeping a button pressed down.
I graduated high school with Casey, knew him since we were kids. I admire the hell out of the life he made for himself, but anyone that thinks it came easy to him is delusional. You work HARD to get to his place in life, don't get it twisted.
I still watch him run into things in the bike lane. I must confess to ', accidentally ' running into cars parked in the bike lane a few times .
.
This pod is so much better than flagrant.
The greatest Camp ever! You can even get diddled here too! Thanks Camp Master Mark!
This guy influenced so many people to start a UA-cam channel without even knowing it
Interesting Casey was keen to give this guy almost 3hour podcast .. pretty sure this is a first for Casey ?!!! I wanna see more of recent Casey shorts on his channel - thanks Casey, we all miss you.
Long time student of Casey so I’ve heard many interviews from him, and this was one of the better ones. Such an interesting mind and creative.
I’ve seen you co-host many times on Flagrant, but this was first time watching your solo interviewing skills and it’s great to see you crush it alone too! Keep it up brother 💪🏻
what a great conversation
Dammn, mark really got Casey to do a 3 hour pod, good fucking job man
This was sooo good!!
He REALLY went there and thought Casey said "wiggers" are one of the biggest problems in the world... Carry was like "What did you THINK I said?" he was like of, I misunderstood your, "yeah, CLEARLY" 😆😆😆 wow, that took a turn.
I WILL TOTALLY SUBSCRIBE, Only if you share what hair products you use on your curls!
Awesome Vlog/Podcast🫶🏽🙏🏽✝️
Time Stamp guy what was the comment that made him quit UA-cam?
i noticed that the like button highlights at this time lol weird 20:45
Came for Cassey, got 100 random promotions even with youtube premium
Best Casey interview
"phones are dirty cheap"
man I wish
How didn't Rogan interview him yet?
He needs to scratch out his "Do More" tattoo and put "Do Nothing".
Hey bud, I strongly urge ya to change the title. I think there's no way this video shouldn't have more views. I mean it's a great interview with Casey Neistat. Think the title might not communicate the fact that it's convo with casey well enough. Just my thoughts man, love camp.
Agreed! The vid might pick up legs in the coming days. It’s definitely one of the better Casey interviews and I’m only half way through!
Any suggestions?
@@markgagnon I like the one you have but maybe “The comment that made him quit UA-cam” and could add the “and more stories” which has worked well on some of your videos.
@@markgagnon Casey Neistat: “I was finished” , Casey Neistat speaks on UA-cam comments, Casey Neistat on WHO made him quit UA-cam, Casey says THIS comment made him quit! Casey Neistat tells us WHY he has to quit. These might all be dog shit but just some word that communicates it’s an interview/conversation with Casey right away I think could help a lot. Hope this is helpful brotha
@@dylansavoie7614 it’s an awesome interview! Mark does really well talking to someone who we all already know in a new way.
