you guys are really great! I truly enjoyed our conversation. Your questions unlocked so many forgotten memories haha, most notably my days of being a Jam salesmen! Honoured to have been a guest. ❤
Dan your story IS a film in and of itself! I found so many parallels to relate to within your creative thought process to making films. I take a lot of inspiration from your work and deeply respect how incredibly focused and relentless you’ve kept throughout many of your shortcomings. Thank you for sharing this with us BRU’s!
So much love from Cape Town. YOU ARE AWESOME BRU!!!! Been watching you since your Thailand video back in, what - 2016? Props my bru!!! Been an honor! Love and light to you and yours Dan xo
There are few people in the world that can tell a story the way that Dan can. He has a unique ability to build strong empathy in the audience by telling the story from a human perspective in a way that inspires those watching to be part of the solution. Dan’s contribution to our mission to build a kinder and more empathetic world using the power of social media can not be understated.
This was the best interview I've watched in years. Dan is incredibly well-spoken and you two asked insightful questions and kept the conversation flowing in such a great way. This episode coming out after the Emma interview is amazing. The quality of this channel is somehow always getting better.
Last year Dan popped into 368 and took the time to watch a film I was working on - not only once, but twice! He was so focused and it was f*cking terrifying. I’ll never forget him giving me his time & the notes he gave me. Always a Dan Mace fan. 🎉
So GLAD Colin & Samir changed the title!! This is the most emotional, touching, and inspirational video interview from Colin and Samir. The video and messages within video definitely lifted me up. It was frustrating trying to find out the gentleman's name yesterday when watching the video. Dan Mace deserves his name in the title. I am glad people felt the same!
I remember seeing these guys years ago putting in tons of effort and feeling bad that they barely had subs. They pop up in my algorithm from time to time and I am happy to see the hard work pay off
Hey Dan Mace, you have ridden on the wild stallion of emotional turmoil, tamed it, and made a choice for genuine meaning over fame and ego. Proud of you for your honesty, vulnerability, and courage to share your heart - not many artists know that road. You do. And you will find that goodness and inner peace is never far behind.
This was one of the best podcasts I’ve ever watched. So much context, so much inspiration, so much insight especially for someone who plays between the realm of traditional and digital media 🙏🏾🙏🏾🔥
It’s one thing to work with a guy who you consider a genius and a visionary, but it’s even better when you consider him as close as a brother too. Love you bru
Dan I just want you to know that your honesty on this pod has been SUPER helpful for me. I’ve been making videos for two years and I’m pumped with loads of ideas and a new direction for 2024 but your point about making videos when you don’t feel motivated but need to keep recording really hit home for me! Parts of 2023 were a real drag but it’s all part of the journey. Good job 👍🏻 Colin and Samir, I’m binging all your videos this Xmas period, which, as I’ve learned (from your videos), is going to be boosting you to new audiences. Meta. Kudos.
Dan is such a legend - I’ve been following his work for a long time. His perspective and his creativity is truly something else. Big ups for him bring brave and talking about his struggles - it was super duper touching and moving. Hope you’re living happy Dan 💛
Omg, I have watched this channel for probably a year - tuning into different videos at least every 2 weeks whenever they come into my recommended and I just realized I wasn't subscribed! I feel guilty like I should have been way sooner. The effort put into this channel and each video shows, hope to see your guy's channel grow more and more.
I love this interview! Took me 5 days to finish it! I’m a fan of Dan since Nespresso days and Dan is like a friend to all. Never expected this interview. Thank you for doing your research well, Colin and Samir!
Excellent interview. I started following Dan when he joined Casey and it is great to hear his journey. My hope is it will be inspiring to others, not just filmmakers but those who are dealing with the ups and downs in life.
I've followed Dan since the days he was with Casey. I think he's someone with the creative mindset and drive to push things to a very different level. The industry and the creator ecosystem is better for having him.
Fun tip, you can transcribe your audio in Davinvi Resolve (probably premiere now too) and then search for the filler words ("and", "or", "why") and copy them into the interviews without having to scrub through the entire interview again. Also, great insight Dan, this interview really inspired me!
I've never been more inspired to be creative than this interview. Thank you guys! Really nice to have some episodes focused on more grounded, emotional subjects than the macro creator economy topics that most of us don't engage with. (ofc I really enjoy those too!)
My favorite interview on this channel so far, even more than the Jimmy interviews! As someone with a design degree who ended up starting a marketing business, it was inspiring to hear Dan's career path as a creative. I am at that early stage with this OwlzzZ channel, where I feel like I have the talent to make better videos, but I still need to pay bills somehow!
Hands down one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to. I will always be impressed by the level of profound questions you guys bring to the table, and what conversations arise from it.
My Kiffffest Bruuuuuu! Yasis This was such a kiff interview/ podcast episode. I was fixed in - there are soo many key points to this. I’ve shared it to many of my film maker friends that’s I’m trying to get them onto UA-cam and show them open up your opportunity don’t always go down the traditional route. And this conversation really solidifies it. Thank you all! And yoh Dan you are the man, your videos are always mega kiff and you can see how excellent you are. 🎉 so happy for your current mission
Remember Dan when he used to appear in Ben Brown's videos way before working with Casey. Always seemed like such a happy dude, super interesting to get a long form convo with him
The best BRU interview i have ever watched and listened to. I got to really understand bits and pieces of his years long journey of growing in the Casey era and all the opportunities that followed after. Dan is a interesting character.
This episode really made me emotional. What hit me was knowing when you made it. As a creative, we don't know when or realize what we are supposed to stay with to be content.
Absolutely every single Dan's video makes us creators just want to jump up and begin shooting something new and exciting. You're impacting wayyyyy more than you think Dan ! Great interview guys !!
This is amazing! Super inspiring literally can't stop listening, thank you guys for getting Dan on here, literally one of the greatest storytellers out there🙏
I've been a fan of Dan's since I found him through Jeremy Loops back in the day. Such a cool thing to be able to follow someone's progression over the years.
Man i was so damn stoked when Dan finally got going again this time with another creator i love and with a mission he could easily bloom threw it and i cried so many times watching philanthropy videos since than and now i know what went on and iam so glad you found your way i love every peace u make ❤️
Never thought would watch a part like a movie or a game that l like constantly being happy and satisfied by watching and just continue it its my 4 time coming back to finish the whole interview and is it was beautiful 😊❤️
Hey guys. I just wanted to say congratulations on the Lighthouse. I read the story in Fast Company. I have been watching your videos for years starting with the skateboarding company and have been following your journey as you found your voice and ultimately your audience. Congratulations on your well earned success. Keep up the good work and would love to see another road trip with Jack Coyne!
I’ve been a fan of Dan since his smile video way back in the day, and recently had the chance to meet him at Vidsummit and talk to him about being a dad. It was great having a conversation with someone I’ve admired for years. This feels like continuing that conversation
Watching Dan’s channel is like watching a Marvel movie and wanting to be Spider-Man when you walk out the cinema. Just instead of doing somersaults you want to be creative.
This is fantastic. This started autoplaying after a video, and i was just assuming it was a top colin & Samir video that the algorithm is feeding me. To my excitement, its only 1 hour old! Thanks UA-cam!!
I love Dan, especially cause we share the same name. But he's definitely one of the best filmmakers I've seen and I'm so glad he was introduced on Casey's channel because I've been supporting him ever since.
Man as a fan of Dan yall should change that clickbaity title. It’s really not a big issue but bro is more than just a mr beast employee it’s obvious it’s for the click. In my opinion plaster his name as the title like everyone else and whoever clicks was meant to be. But great interview as always yall killed it.
I love this video! Really deep and interesting point of views from an experienced and incredibly talented young filmmaker / content creator with a genius mind! I also felt the same way some times. You feel kind of "talent-less" (when you really got experience), or the two job possibilities dilemma. I watched from A to Z, probably listening to this some time again this week!
Suggestion: Why don't you find top creators in each niche & interview them? Love you guys, but It's same old same old. Example of other niches: ASMR, filmmaking, gardening, comedy sketches, painting, etc. Other countries other than USA would be more interesting too.
Mrbeast's superpower is IDENTIFYING, HIRING, and KEEPING the right people in his team. From finding potential in Chandler (Ex-janitor) to calling Dan out of nowhere. It's insane. I'm glad Dan is now living his best life as a creative. All the best and more power to you Dan! Thanks for another wonderful interview Colin and Samir
Dan is so humble, I wish he had a bit more pride for his work. I feel like he doesn't really understand what his art does for the person watching the screen. Dan if you're reading this, you are the man dude. You have been killing it for so long, you're an OG. Take charge of the beautiful work you've done and pat yourself on the back.
This is the first i found out about Dan being part of the Beast Philanthrophy creative team and gotta say it is such aa huge relief! I remember first watching their first videos and being put off by the video style since it just imitated main channel style but lacked the depth and sensibility for subject matter. I was actually taken in by the orphanage building video thinking that MrBeast team finally decided to be more invested in the personal stories. Hope to see more from the team dedicated to the cause.
Yep, would love to hear a long form interview with Ben Brown. Such a talented guy, a shame where things have gone for him the last few years but his talent has never left him.
What a great video! Watched it from beginning to end. Dan is such a interesting and inspiring person. Thank you Colin and Samir for another amazing video🙏
I love Dan Mace channel and just miss his videos so badly. Happy to see him in a interview and get to know him even better ❤️ My only gripe is that when he is introduced in this video it seems like he is just a creative who works for “big names” and there were no highlights on his amazing channel what would be cool since the whole interview he discussed the feeling of having the spotlight away from his own name. In the other hand, I understand is important for views and retention, but that was just sad
I’ve watched a good amount of Dan Mace videos over the years and they’re always great, but seem to pop up at random. Always wondered what the deal was. Happy to hear the tale from the source himself!
Thank you so much for this video. I am pretty burned out at the moment, and although I am a way smaller creator/artist than Dan I recognized so much in his story. The pressure, the sickness in the (for me not the advertising but media) industry… This video gives me the motivation to start making more videos/stories I really want to make, instead of HAVE to make. And to keep going. Haha and I loved the jokes about the VPN’s ;). Can I order those coffee-chocolate-nuts bars from The Netherlands?
I fill like I did all wrong, I discovered Dan`s channel when he uploaded - camera truck video. Than I watched most of his videos but the fact that he said that after 12 videos it is the end of his youtube journey made me sad, and also exited to wait and see the rest 11. Colin and Samir and your team thank you guys for this interview. I enjoyed this so much, there is so many things to learn from Dan, and the product placement was just great, the plug was the whole comedic bit.
Not a creator, but I really really enjoy these UA-cam Meta discussions, it's o interesting. What I really like with this episode is the introduction to a person that I've never heard of before, that's something I would like to see more of. Like pitch more why should I value this persons opinions if I don't know their background/story.
Loved seeing an inside look on Dan's perspective of content creation. Currently going through situations he's talked about and hearing his point of view reminds me not want to give up. Great video guys
you guys are really great! I truly enjoyed our conversation. Your questions unlocked so many forgotten memories haha, most notably my days of being a Jam salesmen! Honoured to have been a guest. ❤
Legend of a man and an inspiration to all South African creatives
The bru bar - comedic bit through episode was just a bless of fun!

Alexandra, you are f'n awesome girl. Your videos are contageos. I cannot stop watching them! Really!
368 is still a thing? I never see Casey talk about it anymore.
Dan is one of the greatest and most creative minds out there! I take a lot of inspiration from him!
If he was so creative he wouldn't be so broke.
nah he just leeched and copied neistat
I agree! He is one of the most unique channels out there
He'd actually won 3 Cannes awards prior to meeting Casey? Your comment is irrelevant@@azoique
what makes you say he is broke? @@vividist

The way Dan delivered the Life of a Jam Salesman story was brilliant 😂
this video is Dan so well!

This episode really made me emotional.

I appreciate the authenticity in this conversation. Genuine curiosity met by authenticity in response (from both sides.) Great discussion.
Thank you appreciate that. Loved having Dan in the studio.
Absolutely every single Dan's video makes us creators just want to jump up and begin shooting something new and exciting. You're impacting wayyyyy more than you think Dan ! Great interview guys !!
Such an amazing deep dive into the world of Dan as a creator/filmmakers struggle through the industry.
This is amazing! Super inspiring literally can't stop listening, thank you guys for getting Dan on here, literally one of the greatest storytellers out there🙏
The way Dan speaks blows my mind. So intellectual and meaningful. I aspire to speak like that one day.
Go Dan! 🎉
Dann !! You guys got Dan !! His videos are amazing and so creative … i love it 🔥
Samir. Your hair is almost back to where it was before the "accident." The world is healing.

I love Dans videos, they are tso beautifully edited and shot. So glad they interviewed him!
This is amazing! Thank you for continually having great conversations we wish we could have, and helping us learn!
This is/was pure gold! Thank you for your work to empower creatives.
Watching Dan’s channel is like watching a Marvel movie and wanting to be Spider-Man when you walk out the cinema. Just instead of doing somersaults you want to be creative.

This is one of the best youtube videos I have watched in a long time. I appreciate you guys. Keep doing what you do!

elite conversation. all parties involved.
3 of my favs in the same conversation = dropping everything I'm watching
This entire channel is a master class on becoming a UA-camr with knowledge from the best of the best in one place.
Best interview of one of my favourite series.

I'm glad Dan is now living his best life as a creative. All the best and more power to you Dan! Thanks for another wonderful interview Colin and Samir
I was lucky enough to briefly meet Dan in person, he was chill enough to let me get a quick picture with him, awesome guy
