I just flew back home yesterday after spending 10 days there. Each day I walked or jogged from the park by the bridge down to about Victoria House and back. I kept trying to figure out what that large new building with the crane was. That whole area is under massive construction - what else is going up by that new boat taxi location? I also had a bike accident up by Pur and ended up going in to the new Ambergris Hope hospital to get patched up on a Sunday night at 7pm. They got me right in and stitched up my nose. Really excellent service and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Went back a week later to get the stitches removed and had another excellent experience. In and out in less than 15 minutes. Very happy to have that new resource right in town by the fire and police departments! Now that I'm back in cold and dreary Michigan I'm already trying to figure out how to get back to AC as soon as possible. Definitely didn't want to leave!
The great awakening is happening guys. You will be able to live wherever you want. And Gesara will allow you financial freedom. I'm gonna check it out.
MY HEART RACES WITH EVERY NEW UPDATE WILL!!!!... ESPECIALLY WITH THE HOSPITAL OFFICIALLY GOING LIVE ALONG WITH THE NEW ROADS BEING PAVED! SIMPLY DIVINE! THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING TO HELP KEEP OUR FINGER ON THE PULSE!!!!! RESPECT & ONE LOVE
Great update, Will! I visited most all your updates when i was there in jan but didn't see the new water taxi location. 👍 I used a lot of those newly paved roads, that is a HUGE boost for residents and tourists.
Progress brings problems. There are too many vehicles in San Pedro; the air quality near the airport is horrible especially in the evenings. Public transportation or electric vehicles should be considered. Happy that there is a hospital. Would love to see less traffic in the downtown area.
Great video with great information!! Been to Belize eight times now over the past 7 years, there’s definitely nothing like it!! Keep up the good work!!
yes yes and yessssss, I was just there Will and have videos to prove it lol. So love the new roads omg, it was so easy getting to Sapphire Beach to see my friends from my trip last year. I was in your office on January 30th, I saw you but Ruben was afraid we might fall in love lol so he forgot to introduce me to you. hahaha. I cannot wait to return again, I am so in love with my soon to be home.
OK, I liked the Vid! Retired RN of 33 + yrs. At almost 70, I would need to finance my health-care 💯 to live full-time in Belize. I've been insulin dependent for several years now. Ideas on Rx purchases and ways to research cost. Tks

Great update. Just started to watch so maybe I missed this topic but I am interested in investment on the island but am concerned about rising sea levels and erosion and how Ambergris compares to other coastal areas? Thanks again for your updates.
you should do more videos on family things ie - school options for expats/family styled communities etc. people have kids and usually we want to be away of party party
San Pedro Scoop. She is from the USA and has been living there since about 2006 if I remember right. I lived there for about 10 years and I've met her a few times on the Island. I left due to medical care and this New Hospital would be a great improvement. If you have any serious medical problems I would think hard before retiring in Belize. Having said that I LOVED it there.
@@jblkburn How far would you go in terms of the idea of "serious medical problems" that cannot be treated easily with quality services in Belize? Are you referring to diabetes, blood pressure or cholesterol meds (or injectibles)? Are you referring to surgeries like knee replacements? How do the local people deal with "serious medical problems"?
I developed (GBS) Guillain-Barre syndrome which required White Blood cell infusions and a lot of specialized care which I received in one of the leading Boston Hospitals. This probably can not be done in Belize. At the time there were only 2 Neurologists in all of Belize. I probably got GBS from some vaccinations I received in the USA a month or so before. The smartest thing I ever did was had my wife book the first flight out. When I reached Boston they had to carry me off the plane. That was a dozen years or so ago and I still suffer some of the effects. Merida, Mexico is where most went for anything complicated. I would not do joint replacements in Belize. Belize is a country of 350k and there is no way that they can afford world class hospitals like we have in the USA. " diabetes, blood pressure or cholesterol meds (or injectibles)?" No problem. @@dovygoodguy1296
Anyone know if the road to Secret Beach has been improved. Was there about a year and a half ago. Needed an ATV instead of a golf cart to travel on it.
Some great updates will in San Pedro love the video question is this Hospital that you were showing on your video? Is that the brand new hospital you were talking about with foreign investors building a big hospital or is it something different? We are in the medical field and we just wondering once we start establishing ourselves as residence of Belizeto see if there’s an opportunity for jobs thanks let me know Ruben
Absolutely! Having access to 24/7 emergency care can make a huge difference in times of need. It's definitely a service that would benefit so many people.
Here is another interesting question: how would you compare life in San Pedro with life in another English-speaking country like Barbados?? I would also like to see some videos showing and interviewing older retirement age expats from the US, Canada, etc. besides ypu younger folks! Expand the viewing demographic!
I haven't been there in a while but the channel markers and such are almost non-existent. You really need local knowledge if your boat draws 6' of water or more. Inside the reef is OK for a small motorboat that only needs a few feet of water if you are cautious. If you make it through the reef you can anchor and clear customs in front of the town but that is about it. If you damage the reef, stand by for a big bill from the government, it happened a few times while I was there. Having said that it is a great Island and the people are very friendly and helpful.

I hear ya. I’m trying to figure out how to move there permanently.

Interesting report! How did you pay the hospital? Cash? CC? Expensive? Thanks!
@@onedirection3510 I paid with a credit card. Very affordable! I think the total bill was a little over $150USD
please do more frequent uploads. i think about san pedro literally every day. I want to go back so bad
We will do our absolute best! At least weekly updates always there. Glad to hear you're enjoying!

Leaving the island is always tough, but it just makes the next trip back even more exciting! Enjoy the anticipation!
Good morning from Tennessee USA

real progress nice to see stupid question is there a place to park a yacht on the island for servicing and a place to park when not in use
Tell us more about the big clearing south of the SB turn off that is supposed to be a private airstrip.
Nothing official on that location yet!
Nice video. But would love to know the prices of some of the dishes at the restaurant; and the coffees. Did you say gas is $6.30 per gallon?!
very good news. regards frm Germany
All great news than you for watching!
Vem visitar o Brasil, você vai gostar muito, estaremos esperando.
Brazil is definitely on my travel bucket list!
Are they getting rid of some of those speed bumps on the streets?
I doubt it but a guy can dream.. hahah
you should do more videos on family things ie - school options for expats/family styled communities etc. people have kids and usually we want to be away of party party
Hey Sean, we can definitely look into putting some content like that together.
Good information, Will a question, I live in Benque and I am going to go record videos in San Pedro, what places do you recommend?
I am so interested in San Pedro as a retired couple in our 60s, but no one produces videos about life for retirees in Belize. I'm still waiting!

I live in San Pedro!
Over 6 bucks a gallon of gas dam 😢😢😢😢. That not good to me
DRIVE THRU🎉
Big moves 🇧🇿🇧🇿🇧🇿🇧🇿
I lived there from 1999-2003. This makes me so sad. This island is not meant to be paved
Ya, I lived there about 2002-2012 up North and I really miss getting stuck in the mud on the 8' wide dirt road. NOT!
@coolbeans do they accept cash or credit card?
They accept both!
I'd be interested in what visiting sailors have to say...............hint, hint.

Let’s do a medical video
With all the great scenery I don't know why you put yourself in the scenes so much.. no reason whatsoever. Use voice overs and cutaways.
Good video, nice to that much work being done....
Its always a great sign!
