My partner on this trip is a bit of a character. I wasn't censoring only our callsign out of the audio. 😆

Very nice! Which model of Citation are you going to school on?

All the best to you. Citation is really the best jet from pilots perspective. I like its cabin layout more than Challenger 😀

@@citationpro I'm actually unsure! It's a UC-35, but I'm not sure which one I'll learn on and subsequently end up in.

Ah, Marine Corp! They operate mostly UC-35D which are the same as the civilian Encore. In fact I believe they do training at FlightSafety in Wichita where I've done a couple of Encore recurrents. The Encore is my favorite model out of the 500 series. Very capable airplane. None of the 500 series cruise very fast, but the Encore is unique in that it can initially climb out at 5000+ fpm and go straight to FL450 even at max gross weight. Really a fun plane to fly. Enjoy it.

Video can't do the scenery justice! It was incredible. It's not often we get to fly an entire leg down low, in the mountains, on a clear VFR day. We both really enjoyed it.

Many thanks for your job Sir !!! Really beautiful nature and very usefull for low time pilot like me. Just One Question: Is 560 XL compatible with RNAV RNP type of approach or RNAV GPS used usually on this plane ? I suppose that RNP is available on new planes like M2, Latitude with new Garmin 3000-5000. Is it correct, or old planes also additionally equipped for more precision approaches ?

Great question! In our operation we are limited to RNAV GPS. I've never heard of an RNP-capable Excel, but maybe there is an upgrade possible, I don't know. On a related note, our planes are WAAS capable, meaning we can fly to LPV minimums, so the benefits of true RNP approaches would be limited. It's a narrow set of circumstances where we can't get in using a basic GPS/LPV approach but could using RNP. So honestly, we don't really think about or wish we had RNP very often.
