YAYYYY SO GLAD YOU FINALLY DID IT! I asked for a while and I got so much hate from your followers for asking. But there's really very little resources for male dancers out there and it's great to get some recognition from such a big channel as yours! Next time you do a boy video please please please do tips on tours a la seconde!
AHHHHH!!!! Something for us guys!!! Thank you so much!! There's so much female/pointe content out there and not much for us (which is totally understandable). I even did pointe to learn more about female technique :P
Great video! As someone who studied ballet in a small town with few male dancers I would love to see more videos like this so that I can understand more male technique. Also I don't know if you have any videos on this already but I would love some partnering tip videos! ❤
I'd been digging around for months looking for good tour en l'air advice, I don't know how I missed this among your videos, but circling back: perfect. Best tip for me #2: shoulders and hips aligned, not twisting.
Omg, first of all the little Harry is the cutest thing ever!! And second thank you sooo much for making a male video!!! This one jump just didn't make any sense to me before but now I can't wait to try out your great tips!!! Especially the first one is exactly what I needed!
-and I thought pirouettes were difficult! Fair play to Harry, he had a LOT to think about. One question... Where is the best place to imagine the turn coming from? Or is it really just pure strength?
Hi Claudia, thank you for making this channel! I started learning ballet 2 years ago when I was 26 and it changed my life! And your channel and your positivity has helped me a lot. Wonder if you would make a tutorial on pique turn and another one on how to spot in turns (spotting is what me and my adult classmates found most difficult). Love you!
Claudia, as cute, joyful and fun as this segment appears, you really haven’t adequately addressed the all-necessary origin and proper generation of the torque (turning force). This is so fundamental and yet it isn’t really explained. (No mention of spotting.) The lad’s landings in demi plié are not clean; it might be better to first master 1/4, then 1/2, then 2/3, then 3/4 tours all with clean landings, leading up to full, 1.5 and double tours. That would make for a sound learning progression: preparation, torqued changement with correct torso placement, correct solid landing, finish (port de bras and gaze). So what tip would you give for generating torque?
Now that you've started doing videos for male dancers what about doing videos about like "unisex steps" with both a male and a female dancer? And also partenaire! I'd love to see that. Love from Argentina
I am sorry this is not related to this video, I just tried to find the most recent video I could. I really need some help figuring out how to not grip/over engage in the quads for extensions/developpes. I have watched some of your videos where you talk about which muscles to utilize. I have known for a few years now that quad gripping is a no no, I just have such a hard time activating the proper muscles. Any tips? thank you
This video rised my curiosity, clauda, what would it be your attitude/answer if a pre-transition mtf transgender comes to you and ask for taking classes like a regular women student?
OMG ich hab vergessen, wie süß wir als Kinder - beim Tanzen - sind 🥹… wenn wir älter werden, bekommen wir so nen kritischen Blick 😅 (ich meine wir Tänzer)
Also could you possibly do a video on port de bras? How to find the proper positioning of the arms (especially in second) in regards to the shoulder placement and which muscles are being utilized. I am a dance teacher and I have been looking for better ways to explain alignment/port de bras to my students.
when you yell as the dancer is leaping , does that act as a way to imprint the new mental idea onto the persons mind...? so like for the next time they try it alone , it will come back? the sudden yell on leaping or landing would cause many people to lose balance...so, i guess it could deliberately be distracting the dancer in order for them to learn to overcome that sudden distraction...and learn to have a deep intense focus? i just noticed the yells as very sudden and shattering to the movement..or to the flow..i suppose it is intentionally disrupting a badly learned movement, in order to correct it...wow!
Its to remind them of the correction, its usually timed around the moment the correction needs to be in the dancers mind. For example she may say change feet. In this move she would say it immediately uppon jumping. In another move, the change might be ever so sligjtly later. So shed delay the jump. And that helps the dancer understand the timing in certain cases. Ive never heard anyone be distracted by the yell of an instructor. It's part of every day life for a dancer that the instructor yells correction during the exercises.
