  • These are some exercises that will help them build up to doing double tours.
While they may not do their first complete double tour while you're watching as it typically happens while they're practicing outside of class, these foundations will set them up for success.

Sometimes you forget the basics and the technics. It's always nice to come back to this video and relearn the technics. Thank you Mr. Du.

Thank you! Like many teachers, I learned in a female led ballet setting, with mostly other girls, and then taught mostly girls. This year I have three boys aged 12, 16, and 17 and I feel like totally inept teaching them. These videos are so helpful ❤️

Great process. But how specifically do you progress from single tour to the second tour? It is it spotting?
    More force?
What are the steps to go
    Beyond single?
    Thank you, Maestro.

Change the feet at the beginning of the jump or at the end? Elite dancers do it either way. What matters is getting up high, make a straight body & legs, pointe the feet, and get around 2x before the heel hits the ground. After analyzing hundreds of videos of professional male dancers, 99% of them do a quarter turn cheat with the feet at the beginning or they land a quarter-turn short. Most men do the pre jump cheat and a few do the post jump cheat. Almost no one manages to start front and land front because it requires too much of a jump and rotational speed.
I learned the text book way you're teaching it which is to change first, but that never worked well for me.

That's ballet right? Learn it the perfect way and on stage do it the way you can.

I love your pure and humble approach and just your aura☺️😍
You are answering my prayers on how to teach my husband how to start doing these showcase steps after all this graceful grueling barre practice. I am able to step up my teaching with your valuable knowledge and experience. Thank you!!💕💕☺️
