- Are you trying to update your Sena Bluetooth device to only plug it in and see an error "failed to recognize device"?

I have the original cable that came with the Sena 30k. Light is blue on the sena when connected. Still not recognizing.
I had the same issue. I used a different USB-C cable (not sena), and it worked.
Didn't make it past the 51 sec mark, didn't even think about the OEM cable, that worked.....it's like I always say "when all else fails, read the destructions" !!! THANKS

I have the same problem with original sena cable. But i tryed to use new cable from china and it works :) But the problem was "THE CABLE" :) so thank you
You have to make sure that it is a data cable and not just a charging cable for the older devices Micro-USB, for the newer USB-C. That was the problem for me.
doesn't fix the issue on Windows for me. The device manager keeps crashing while searching for the Sena device

@@VanKvn i installed the manager and connected the sena to it on another laptop and it immediately worked for me, i hope you can figure it out
Thanks for helping me out!!! I used a standard USB-data cable. No brand on it. Worked perfectly. So no need to get the "special" SENA cable. By the way, it is is stated in manual that the chargercable does not work with updating. I just did not read that far yet... How tho update via that cable is still a mistery to me.
Tried a different , thicker cord and it worked 💪🏼 appreciate you, cleared my frustration

Worked for me! Thanks for the video. I got the SRL 3, and the cable that came with it in the box wasn't working, but I had an old one from my last Sena which fixed the issue.
Original cable did not work. Swapped it for a 3 year old USB-C cable. Immidiately connected. Thank you!

Thanks for that, couldn't get the dam Mac to recognise the 50s, having enough dramas with having to upgrade the computer. Anyway, used a Go Pro session cable I had, and the Sena was recognised straight away. Good Work

My Outrush helmet never could connect to the software of SENA, It sends error USB [1][N]. I tried the original sena cable, the go-pro cable, the insta 360 cable, the samsung 10 phone cable, and another ten cables. I have tried USB C to USB A on a mini Mac with Monterey, tried a USB C y USB C in a MacBook Pro with Sonoma, tried a converter to USB A to C with the OEM USB cable. Also I change the privacy settings in both Mac to allow motoring Sena program. It reopen the program, also tried rebooting both MAC and reinstalling the software. I just Won't work, so I can't upgrade the firmware now. How ever I could set it up on Bluetooth for my Pan America and iPhone.

I have the Sena cable.. it still doesnt recognise because the software wont download the driver.. got nothing to do with the cable only...
I have a sena cable brand new and still get that message on my 10r dual. My Schuberth Sc1 Asvanced had no issue.

I've tried both original Sena cables on 3 different USB ports for our 2 units and no combination works to recognize either unit. :(

I know this is an older video but my update manager recognises my 20S fine it just won't connect to the update server
i got the same problem with the original cable.
You need to turn on the sena device first, then connect it.

i used a samsung charger that fit my sena 50R's hole and it recognised it in a second, not sure why it didnt work with the wifi adapter , but thanks for recommending to change cables.

Can confirm. 50s did not connect usong the usb cable they provide (which blows my mind wide open).
As others have said, try a usb 2.0 slot instead of 3.0, try one in the back if the computer.
For $300 sena should be ashamed if themselves

every time I try to update my sena with the device manager, it stops at 58% and says failed to update. ikve tried so many times, but to no avail. So unfortunately I cant do everything I need to do. My problem isn't the cable.
Mine says: Failed to update firmware. Cannot get status[6]... anyone have a fix for that? thank you
Use an 2.0 USB Port an try diffrent Cables!
Habe das Original Senakabel aus der Originalverpackung. Originaler geht es 🙁nicht. Und es funktioniert unter Windows 10 trotzdem nicht.

Mit dem originalen geht es oft nicht. Einen fremden Kabel nehmen, alle USBs durchprobieren. Bei mir ginge es mit dem "Nova9" Kabel...🤦♂

Super Easy Fix! As soon as the Device Manager freezes, unplug the USB cable in the Sena, wait a second, then plug it back in.
Boom, it finds the device!!
Also, using USB 2.0 seems to be a lot more reliable!
I uses my smartphone usb cable and what should I say... it works! Thanks Sena for ur fuc**** cable that is useless
Have 2 original cables, neither work. No help on 2 different sena units.
SENA 10S FAILURE TO RECOGNIZE
Unplug the USB cable (mine so happens to be the OEM)
Open the software
Click “Next”
Plug in device and LEAVE IT OFF!! (Important)
Simply hold the phone button until something happens.
I kept turning mine ON to get the lights blinking BUT that is WRONG no lights will pop up and LEAVE IT OFF.
Worked for me with the SENA 10S

Well at least something works for you. Mine just crashes withouth any error code. It doesnt find anything for how many minuets you wanna wait and if i click on it it crashed. Tryed everything from different cabels to different usb slots at my pc. Idk if its the windows 11 or what but what tf did sena programm
got the original and it doesn'T work... no surprise...
The problem is the USB cables, need to be USB 2.0 cables. Other cables don't work.
Waste of time. Only tried the original one and it does not work on win 11 or mac

That’s what I said in the video. If you’ve lost the original cable, or thrown it in a cupboard thinking all cables are the same then you probably need to buy another.

@@fallenphantomx7804 Ahhh... there is a work around... you can buy the wireless dock and us that, but if it's not working with the original cable then I think it could be a problem with the unit, and the wireless dock is £60 or more so an expensive punt.
