It has to be why he had such terrible luck with the deck, tone seems like a good blink target. Resetting the counters could be great in the right matchup.
Long time viewer, I started watching your channel during the golden age of Yorion. My favorite deck is probably still the standard (at the time) mono blue devotion deck with Corridor Monitor, Gaddwick, and Thassa's Oracle. It didn't play the best but once you got it going and cast Gaddwick for x=40 it felt AMAZING. We need more silly decks like that in todays standard, I miss the jank.
Still here CGB! Have watched almost every video you've made for the last 4ish years, don't plan on stopping midway through this one because the deck isn't great. Thanks for providing the hours of content!
This was an awful experience. I feel like they've changed something on the back end. In brawl i ended up with a 0 land hand and mulliganed to get a 1 lander.
Even if it has a hand smoothing enabled, as far as I know all the smoothing does is draw 3 random hands, and pick the one nearest your average lands in that hand. If those 3 hands are all 0 landers, you get a 0 lander. Unlucky yes, but not impossible.
Got half way through the video then went and spent the wild cards. Came back to listen to the video while working. Currently 4-1 in a Standard event, but I had to put down the game to go back to work.
7:20 they actually don't need to hold mana up to kill the archfiend. If you respond to the upkeep trigger and kill it, the game can't remove counters from a dead demon and will just use Last Known Information to determine whether you win or lose. The One Ring also works similarly - if you exile your opponent's ring in response to the ability, they'll draw one less card.
Really love watching your games and the genuine frustration with the shuffler (and monored of course ;)), but the continuous zooming from the editor are kind of spoiling the experience.
I just took out a red deck on ranked with this, got me to 1 life, then I locked him down and killed him with dorks. Then a Blue White control, who had nothing worth counterspelling and just died to weenies. CGB's draws followed the standard Mana flood, Mana screw, mana flood... odd but that is the draw pattern.
I lost 6 games in a row yesterday with Tier 1 and 2 decks. In 5 of them, didn’t feel like I was even playing or could’ve made any other choices. I was pretty close to uninstalling too. 😖
I've never seen more scripted games in my life. I 100% believe that arena stacks decks. As a primarily brawl player, I have never seen a more cheaty matchmaking/shuffling algorithm
The shuffler isnt random, bc we dont have the technology to do true rng. When it starts drawing similar over and over, its best just to take a 30 min or longer break or change decks
We do have the technology to do true RNG, and basically every computer from the past decade has one of those. And moreover, we've had the technology to do pretty damn good PRNG for decades. That's never been the problem. This is either a bug or a misdesigned feature, but it's not a technological deficit.
@@Bman6464 That's a lovely way to just assert that you're right without having to comment at all on it, isn't it? Try harder. (And by the way, I've done more than enough research on the topic. I know how PRNGs cycle, and your CPU does have a TRNG in it. You're welcome to turn your arrogant ignorance into knowledge if you're willing to put up with the heavy math that most of the relevant papers tend to have.)
@therealax6 I think he means we don't have the technology to do TRNG in a game like Arena. The performance of a TRNG in a game like Arena would be an awful experience 😂. If they could at least use a TRNG for the opening hands and then switch to a PRNG for the rest of the game maybe we could get better experience. Honestly, I think the main problem of these systems comes from the conflicting nature of the game. On one hand you have a puesdo random environment, but then on the other you have a manipulated environment. A mostly random environment after receiving a manipulated opponent and starting hand is always going feel alien if your roots is in paper Magic.
@TheFenixDown206 If he means we can't do a TRNG in Arena, he's just wrong. Your computer has one, and it's trivial to use it. But the point is that that's never been the problem in the first place. PRNGs are perfectly fine. Any reasonable PRNG, even the simplest ones, doesn't have this kind of "hot streak" he's talking about - and good PRNGs that are simply indistinguishable from TRNGs have been around for decades. There is no technological limitation here: if games for the freaking Game Boy Advance could use good randomness, I promise you, Arena definitely can. I suspect there are two problems at work here, neither of which is technological: one, humans are awful at understanding randomness, and so they expect things that aren't real (for instance, if you flip a coin some number of times, what do you think is more likely, to get all the same flip (e.g., all heads) or to get an alternating sequence of heads and tails (e.g., HTHTHTH)? The answer is that both are equally likely, but most people would think the alternating sequence is more likely), and two, in a bid to "fix" unplayable hands and other types of screws, the developers messed with the shuffler (making it not perfectly random) and accidentally created bad outcomes that way (as it often happens, because people don't understand randomness). Whatever the case is, there are no technological limitations at play here. Proper random shuffling of decks is something we've been doing for decades. Any claim about this being impossible or difficult to achieve is simply wrong.
I wish you would show off this deck again since the arena really screwed you this session, didnt have a moment to see the deck shine like its supposed to.
This is the most accurate MTG arena experience video so far from CGB, my GOD those draws!!
The absolute realistic experience band on video so far. All these ups and downs, I feel you man... 😂
No Mazemind Tome? 😱 What kind of scrub deck is this!!
It has to be why he had such terrible luck with the deck, tone seems like a good blink target. Resetting the counters could be great in the right matchup.
I have fallen asleep with CGB on in the background before. Unfortunately this was not one of those times. Would have been the best deck for it 😂
I have a hard time falling asleep when I'm blinking.
this video is pretty much my entire experience with arena, I always flood or mana screw or draw the wrong half of my deck. ah well, c'est la vie
This.
is.
... Sparta?..

Quote "I need, like, land and helpful hunter". Proceeds to draw exactly that lol.
used up the entire luck for the whole video right there.
Good to see the anger management techniques paying off lol
The painful games just makes me feel like I'm playing and yelling at the shuffler, knowing I'm not alone makes it easy to watch.
Still here CGB! Have watched almost every video you've made for the last 4ish years, don't plan on stopping midway through this one because the deck isn't great. Thanks for providing the hours of content!
@29:35 i'm still watching, and I'm SO GLA the shuffler stopped hosing you for a bit.
60 cards? Yoooooooorion would be ashamed 😂
Lol, those painful games were indeed painful.
This was an awful experience. I feel like they've changed something on the back end. In brawl i ended up with a 0 land hand and mulliganed to get a 1 lander.

@@Zaszz1how do you know?
They haven't changed anything, it's been broken since day 1.
Experiences like these really make you understand why your opponent concedes out of nowhere with an advantageous board state and 7 cards in hand.
I always hang out til the end. Doesn't matter how painful it may begin or end. I just love watching you play
4/5 Legendary Creature - Bird Serpent here. I remember.
Loved Yorion. Played my Yorion Commander deck yesterday. Its made with all the stuff I remember you playing back in "the day".
Suck compilation containing perfectly timed Ghost Vacuum plays when?
Always watch beginning to end....best arena content streamer hands down!
After the flood always comes the screw!!
The sanctifier heard you were looking for it so it showed up on the very last turn of the video xD
29:20 I'm still watching. 😊
I survived the painful games!
I watch because your attitude towards life motivates me to keep going. Complain and vent but still get up and keep going every day.
Of course I’m still watching. I always hold a special place in my heart for White weenie from back in the day.
More gameplay videos like this please. These are the types of videos I can identify with.
Always gotta watch to the end! I heard it's the best thing I can do for the channel.
glad to see we're all equal in the eyes of the unfair shuffler. here's 1/2 the lands in your deck after a game of no 3rd land for you.
Really fun deck, I would love to see it again, for real
if you use basic lands with multiple different art works (one of's) you will get land screwed less
@12:30 mono red game. Cmon man, you are stronger than this. You are the dojo master. Give it your best!
My first FDN azorius control deck included charming Prince as a taste of the glory days. It only reminded me of how much I miss yorion
"thx God I win a game
with this pile!!!!! “, my feeling every draft I play
When frontier seeker had no land that killed me 😂😂😂
12:59 cgb almost let it loose
Got half way through the video then went and spent the wild cards.
Came back to listen to the video while working. Currently 4-1 in a Standard event, but I had to put down the game to go back to work.
I tried to make Delney work when it came out, looks like Foundation finally gave us a critical mass of cards that work with it.
The absolute irony of NOFEAR running a main deck Ghost Vaccuum.
29:00 Fear looks like not being able to block something unless you have a black or artifact creature. :P
Still watching. I’m enjoying this one.
The first video i watched was you Teferi master of time/ECD deck...would love you to play that in explorer tbh

The One Ring also works similarly - if you exile your opponent's ring in response to the ability, they'll draw one less card.
But that was mana efficient, otherwise you start your turn mana already tapped.
That very last land draw 😂😂😂
44:50 Was there an infinite loop there if you blinked the prince? I think so
29:27 still here 😂
1. Yoooooorion! Peperidge farm remembers!
2. Course I’m still here
I remember the Yorion times. God, I'm getting old.
Suicune is a Pokemon. The blue one from the 4th movie that cleans water
came for the deck...stayed for CGB barking like a dog at the end
CGB, you need to revisit Nahiri's Resolve.
Really love watching your games and the genuine frustration with the shuffler (and monored of course ;)), but the continuous zooming from the editor are kind of spoiling the experience.

"thank god we won a game with this...pile!" hahaha
Just here to support your videos. Is all.
I’m still watching, liking this new deck
I am indeed still watching CGB
All hail the mighty sky noodle YOOOOOORION!!!!!
My cat Henry looks just like the Helpful Hunter. So, if you want to start calling that card Helpful Henry, he'd like that 😊
My god. How did you flood so much?! That was CRAZY.
I lost 6 games in a row yesterday with Tier 1 and 2 decks. In 5 of them, didn’t feel like I was even playing or could’ve made any other choices.
I was pretty close to uninstalling too. 😖
Play this exact same deck tomorrow except adjusted for 27 lands and watch yourself never get to four lands.
Definitely feels good to ve taking a break from the mana screw flood game this has become, happens way too often.
It doesn't synergize with the whole deck, but I've used Guardian of Ghirapur to good effect in builds like this before.
kudos to the editor for the zoom in on the witch cackle at about 28:30. XD
since your on a bit of a white weenie kick might i suggest an arabella boros deck
I always watch to the end money for mr Daniel wags
I've never seen more scripted games in my life. I 100% believe that arena stacks decks. As a primarily brawl player, I have never seen a more cheaty matchmaking/shuffling algorithm
There isn’t a doubt in my mind.
The shuffle and matchmaker behavior in Brawl is straight up disgusting!
Glad this is finally accepted by most players
This is pure entertainment 😀
Actually searched 'suck compilation' on UA-cam afterward . . . wasn't too bad, in fact
I think the deck deserve a redo. Another vid pls. The deck got so much potential
I have a blue deck with 2 March of Swirling Mist. Almost every game I draw both of them.
YOOOOOOOOOOORIOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in fact still watching unlike all those fair weather fans.
I remember the Yorion days 🤍💙
I was told to comment by the best of one. I can’t let the dojo down.
Remember when CGB played Blue cards?
I'm here! Still watching :)
Bro really played mono-white twice before he played mono-blue
Man... This almost hurts to watch. You look so exhausted towards the end of the video. Don't do this to yourself man 🤣😂

Working on an azorius control list at all?
I had to take a break from Arena because I was having TOO many days like this. Seems like it hasn't gotten better lol.
Hey CGB I feel that pain. I’m curious though. Did you think of trying to take advantage of Kykar? I’m guessing you did. Curious how it went
suicune - Pokemon legendary cat
HEY! that's not blue! it's orange!
I see Yorion in the title, I click.
I wish you would show off this deck again since the arena really screwed you this session, didnt have a moment to see the deck shine like its supposed to.
That happens because you don't shuffle your deck correctly.... wait
Yes, you always have to go to school son!
I am still watching!
Still watching with The Helpful Hunter
This deck is amazing despite the MTGA experience. MORE
You know how the game is to the rest of us. I think arena mite be taking away your youtuber privilege
This deck deserves another chance. Drawing 10 lands in top 20 with 18 in deck is some real BS.
Still watching!!
still watching like a true Yorion simp
shew lord hard day at the office today lol
I survived the painful game
Hey CGB, nice hair man :)
No fairweather fans allowed mesa falcons!
If someone wants to get into Arena, this is the video to show them how the shuffler works.
