And at that very moment, Vi's "Q" was still happening (as her fist-lunge will go as far as it has charged, straight-line + no-target), thus her Q hitbox bumped into maokai, right when you "got up".
It would happen similarly against galio's or jarvan's dash hitbox, or a large hitbox projectile like nami's wave, maokai's ult roots.

You and Lux at the end made a good team honestly. She would keep 2 of them rooted sometimes as well as ult them for like 1/3 of their health and shielded you a few times.
It should be studied why is it that 80% percent of mental breakdowns are from bot and jg, it cant be a coincidence
I get that they are 3/5 players but that is still 60%, what is worse, they mental boom in like the first 5 mins, I've seen plenty top and mids mental boom but never before 10-12 mins, botlaners even rage when we are winning by far

They're more exposed to other teammates and interact in a way that any mistake or misjudgment by a teammate can lead to losing a fight. So this exposure is hard to work with and hard to make work smoothly

Man, I only play ARAM because I hate the toxicity of soloq, but i recently fell in love with playing Maokai when I get him. For some reason I feel like he scales so drastically after getting Heartsteel and Fimbulwinter. Then you can just smack unending or spirit visage for mega heals depending on their comp. Its crazy how insanely powerful he gets and lots of people forget how terrifying a good Maokai can be in a team fight. Amazing champ, love my tree man
I wonder if ivern and maokai bot "the trees", would make an unstoppable team :)
3:13 Vi's q throws her at her target, making her entire body a hit box for the sake of the ability. Because Maokai's dash makes him land on top of her it causes him to get hit by her no matter what. It's something I've often encountered whenever I play top Vi vs Maokai.
There were so many times these games that i wanted him to w q into his E in the bush once to do more damage in trades 😅

i love your videos. they always make the game look fun and takes me back to the days where i use to actually have fun playing. but i also hate them because after a month of 2 of watching your videos i think to try playing again get 3 games in. After doing heartsteel on Maokai at least ten times; it hasn’t felt very good ngl . It’s good for buffing your health pool but bc of his funky auto animation feels awkward in trades. Felt better getting to thornmail or unending despair faster

played maokai for the first time yesterday thinking i was support but was top lane nd i SUCK at top mostly cuz im new to league yk so i just knew i was finna sell hard ash but i had shitted on the enemy team so hard. for once i finally felt like i was doing SOMETHING. i was dumb tanky and was doing decent damage. 7/1/12 only died once cuz i over extended and got jumped by the whole team lol.

It's not that you're not untargetable with W against Vi Q. It's just a really weird interaction to where you guys are meeting during her q and when you come out of W you root her but also get hit by the her Q 😂
