Nightwish never disappoints. In this tour, the band was on fire. Particularly, this footage captures the essence of this song, and have some awesome elements/filming choices: the way that Tuomas/keyboard was filmed, in the beggining; Kai and Emppu singing the song; the lateral angles showing all the members of the band, and the light effects. Also, as someone who's always watch live footages of the band, I think that I must say that this video is one of the best in terms of audio mixing. Amazing work! Hope to see the band, next year, on stage.

I noticed too that this video has very unusual angles, it gave me such an intimate impression when compared to other live recording. I really appreciated it.
emmpu is the most important member of nightwish as far as instruments and vocals, imagine nightwish without the electric guitar? its impossible. But of course Tuomas is the founder and the song writer so he is the most important member in that aspect.

Tarja as good as she is never sang this song in the final choruses this high, thats why Marco complimented her with harmonies, but Floor take it to higher vocal register maybe Marco realised that his harmonies were no longer needed, in the wacken version she sang it even higher. Best female vocalist in business no doubt about that.
@@jesusguerra1093 actually I never realized that Tarja indeed sang some parts lower than Floor does here. But I still like how the Marco and Tarja's voices fit together and so do him and Floor's as well so I just would've liked hearing that. Because with Anette they both sang a very different melody and harmony, which isn't a bad thing but Now that Floor sing the almost original melody Marco would've just added to that.

The precision and near perfection of Kai's drumming is kind of freighting - man or machine? Also love that for the first time - @5:00 we can hear those sweet china cymbal accents that Jukka always played but we could never hear them live, now we can hear what Jukka's drum parts were supposed to sound like live.
Floor is by far the most wonderful singer and performer i have ever seen she moves me to tears of pure emotion ! I hope i live to see nightwish here in the uk !
Attended this tour in another Canadian city with my wife and daughter and actually represented the audience demographics pretty well, with ages raging from teens to seniors. I have seen quite a few concerts and Nightwish was as tight, polished and professional as any act I have witnessed. They had the crowd on their feet pretty much the whole show.
Probably the biggest thing I didn't like when I saw this tour was that with all the backing tracks, I had no idea what he was actually playing. Aside from some obvious parts like the piano in Nemo, he could've just sat out the whole show. But your comment also reminds me of how my last band had a song where our singer knew exactly how many seconds he had to go take a bathroom break or whatever in the middle.
@@cconley3315 I think if you watch something like "The Greatest Show On Earth" (live) it shows he likes to keep himself busy with the keys. In the early days of NW's career they used to be questioned about the backing tracks, at least the Finnish music media seemed to worry how "real" they were as a band. (I've no idea how much this has been on the table elsewhere.) Anyhoo, they explained the backing tracks are being used because Tuomas felt the songs needed to be performed as he had written them; not as (in his view) incomplete live-band-only versions. Other options were: not playing live at all; and touring with orchestra & choir wasn't viable option for € £ $ reasons.. 🇫🇮Media seemed to be OK with this answer. The fans are OK with it, and I don't think it's a form of kayfabe. 🙂 Personally I'm fine with the 'symphonic stuff' backing tracked, but I wish they'd drop the backing vocal BTs. Maybe using vocal effects processors live isn't good enough option for them, for that purpose. I once was at a gig where the drummer had a mid-gig bathroom break, leaving the rest of the band waiting on stage.. 😆
@@hannukoo I could definitely see that he was playing SOMETHING the whole time, but it would've been nice to figure out which parts. After spending time as the key player for a band that tried to be like them (we were even named Everdream), I was interested in seeing how he managed to pull everything off, hoping it wasn't so many backing tracks. My old band tried to get me to program backing tracks for some songs, but we would always get off-time from them, and guess who appears to be to blame...
@@cconley3315 Did you guys have a click track? E.g. backing tracks in sync w. click > click to drummers in-ear-monitors: plays along w. it > band follows the drums. (Or the click is audible to some/all players, due to keys/guitar intros etc.) That can fail too, of course... 🙂 Kai from NW mentioned an incident when he had problems w. his in-ears: 1st couldn't hear the click: when could, realized they were seriously behind the click (AND the backing tracks): made a quick calculation: he needed to play a 5/8 bar (oslt), to get back on track w. 4/4 (or whatever they were doing). He did that, hoping the rest would follow his drum fill, and they did...!
@@hannukoo None of us had in-ear, so no click track, and the monitor situation at our typical bar shows was so bad we couldn't hear what we wanted that way either. We were hopelessly underequiped, and shouldn't have even tried backing tracks. I got in-ear for myself for my next band, and it drastically improved my own playing. That's a good story, and proof of why they're professionals.
Thank you so much! The camerawork is very good and so is the quality of sound. One of the things I really like is Marko's bass during the great guitar solo and the fact we can hear it so clearly. There's so many things to like here. Floor looks and sounds great like the rest of the band. Kai's added China cymbal hits at the end of the song was interesting and a refreshing take on the song. There are some other small bits here and there that he adds to the song and I like it. It's always great to see and hear a band who enjoys what they're doing and I love to hear all these differences. Music needs to keep moving and it needs to be alive. Every show is different and I'm so glad we get to see these videos.

Wonderful. When the Covid crap finally gets whipped, please return to North America . More of us need to see you live. Nightwish is a refreshing change from the vocoder crap we're all immersed in over here....
Always kinda interesting to see Nightwish perform in such small venues, when, as a European, you're used to see them in concerthalls or arenas with 10.000 visitors upwards. Cool. 🖤
Tell me about it. I’ve seen top quality bands in Vancouver in these theatres and get the best sound, closeness, and after their set lists, some bands just mingle in the lobby with fans. Super chill and even better than big shows.
@@comicozy8786 I like both ways. In smaller venues you're definitely much closer to the bands, it's more familiar, just like you mentioned. But here it's not possible anymore, even with "smaller" bands like Epica or Within Temptation or others, because this music style is so big over here, that even they are able to fill halls with 5000+ people. And it's also quite breathtaking to see and hear these bands with their whole production behind. I hopefully gonna see them in Amsterdam and Frankfurt next year, both big venues with 17.000 and 12.000 people. And most of all, the feeling of have been a part of an event like Wacken 2013 still gives me chills every time I watch a song from that day.
Yeah, in the back of my mind I’ve always wanted to get a full Nightwish production with thousands of people, so hopefully they’ll get billed with a really big act so I can see it.

Thinking they’d come back in a few years
And here I still wait ... 😢
One of my favourite songs! Especially the new approach by Floor, it's so refreshing ! 🖤 I miss you guys soooo muchhhh 🖤🖤🖤
Floor is by far the most wonderful singer and performer i have ever seen she moves me to tears of pure emotion ! I hope i live to see nightwish here in the uk !
a qualidade do som está impecável !!! deveria colocar esse show completo
They are all great musicians, but the drummer in this song ..... he is a beast
Great gig
The band is amazing and Floor is a Godess.
2:40 As a down-to-earth fella Tuomas only ever considers himself a genius when remembers he composed himself a mid-song wine break... 🙂
(I've no idea how much this has been on the table elsewhere.)
Anyhoo, they explained the backing tracks are being used because Tuomas felt the songs needed to be performed as he had written them; not as (in his view) incomplete live-band-only versions.
Other options were: not playing live at all; and touring with orchestra & choir wasn't viable option for € £ $ reasons..
🇫🇮Media seemed to be OK with this answer.
The fans are OK with it, and I don't think it's a form of kayfabe. 🙂
Personally I'm fine with the 'symphonic stuff' backing tracked, but I wish they'd drop the backing vocal BTs.
(Or the click is audible to some/all players, due to keys/guitar intros etc.)
That can fail too, of course... 🙂
Kai from NW mentioned an incident when he had problems w. his in-ears: 1st couldn't hear the click: when could, realized they were seriously behind the click (AND the backing tracks): made a quick calculation: he needed to play a 5/8 bar (oslt), to get back on track w.
My most favorite Nightwish song!
Отлично!!! Как всегда- молодцы!!!
Like fine wine....they get better with age!❤️
I remember seeing them this tour and damn was the band tight. The sound mixing and production quality was excellent!
It really sounds grand. I am impressed.
Best live band! Great musicians
Best band on Earth. Love from Sweden.
What a amazing performance!!!!
Thank you very much for sharing this video, you are UNIQUE, THE BEST ONES !!!!

Nightwish, is the best heavy metal band in the world!

So Beautiful!
Wonderful.
When the Covid crap finally gets whipped, please return to North America .
More of us need to see you live.
Nightwish is a refreshing change from the vocoder crap we're all immersed in over here....

They have a few dates announced for 2021 in NA.
@@mepatrik1 They keep cancelling them. They'll cancel those as well. Just watch...
Amen to that! And I'm not even a particularly religious person.
Getting to know this song in this "different" 2020 has been a breath of fresh air. Favorite song 💙
