For those wanting it even slower, remember you can use the custom playback speeds in the UA-cam settings. I often forget to use that feature but it can compound the slow-mo when needed. Great vid. Thanks for posting
I’ve been bowling 20 years, I’ve never, seen any one hander, two hander, anyone, throw a ball like that. From that huge backswing, 95 degree wrist, there’s nobody on the planet that cranks more revs than this dude. That’s an 800 rpm ball, thrown out of a machine. The ball never hits the pins, the revs create a gravitational pull that sucks those pins into a small universe that is created by this bowling God.
Everyone is so bent out of shape over you planting your foot. I hope they know there is more than one way to bowl. He's been doing this for 20 years now. If something was gonna give it would have already. Your release is amazing.
Watching this video is like a flash back to the short oil walls of the 90's. Your footwork is classic Cranker, plant that heel, late timing and crush it at the bottom of the swing. That style ruled the short oil madness. I dabbled in that kind of plant and turn release in the early 90s, but my wrist checked out. I'm sure my knees would disapprove today...lol.. Nice seeing how you are able to keep the timing on point and execute the shots pretty consistently. You game looks like a modernized version of the classic Cranker, the likes of Mark Roth. Thanks for the video.
Looks like you’re literally uppercutting the air with a bowling ball. Excellent release man, I’m going to try and recreate this release if you don’t mind. Great video man!!! You’ve earned a sub
wow seeing this in slow mo it’s amazing! so to hook the ball you shoot at the 10 pin but pull the ball up in a sliding motion with the wrist and finger up to the other side? and the ball travels to the 10 pin but rotates towards the pocket ? i’m new to bowling but i thought to hook the ball the hand had to make a handshake movement not just sliding it up…
I'm starting my first league here and just need some tips about thumb position. I always squeeze my thumb inside when I try to snap my wrist while releasing the ball. Because of that my thumb knuckle is hurt everytime. Should I enlarge the thumb hole so that I can bend my thumb inside more comfortably or try to keep my thumb straight at all times? Thanks in advance
good video i only have 1 question when you start does your ball go up with your backswing when it goes down again bend your arm (I do that too) do you have a tip for me how to stretch my arm when i hit the let go of the ball. because I keep my arm bent
My arm stays straight until its coming down. Practice releasing the ball sooner, it'll make you straighten that arm out in the right position. Where are out from? Thanks for watching!
I have a question for you do you find yourself falling off balance more since you are starting to get up there in age I noticed when I was younger my balance at the foul line was almost perfect as I got older it feel like my balance wasn't there as much and I felt like I was coming up and off to the left a lot just figured I would ask that question really enjoy your videos even though I don't Bowl anymore I feel like I have a lot of knowledge that I could pass on to the younger generation
You almost have a little skip step in there like a 2 hander. Getting tons of speed off that backswing and that skip step. Tons of lift on that ball too. You have a really good approach. I have to slide into my release though. When the lanes are tacky and I have to step it kills my knee and hip.
I am just getting into bowling and I am working to improve. I just took a bowling lesson about a month ago. We went through my approach. One thing the coach suggested was working on sliding instead of stepping. I just noticed that you aren't sliding before you release the ball. Do you think it is better to slide or step before you release the ball?
I’m a really low rev bowler (avg. 300 rpm’s) but I’ve only been bowling for 3 years. I’d love to get into an average of 450 or above to have a power game but watching videos only helps me so much, any tips?
I finally got the shape of my ball looking very close to yours. Like you said, elbow/wrist/finger. Only problem is that I’m throwing it at 11mph. Soooooo it’s going almost gutter to gutter 😔 I need to get my speed way up but idk how.
You're probably putting too much muscle into the ball and don't have a free armswing. It's not easy to hit the ball like this and maintain a free swing. It also takes time to get used to the timing of this motion so you're able to do it quicker and easier, which gets you that ball speed
This is the "if you can't do the yo-yo power release" method. Just pull like you start the engine of a boat ! So fun to watch ! Except the planting foot which tilts badly to the left stressing the ankle joint. Ouch. I think it will cause issues later on. I hope not.
Seems like your thumb comes out of the ball really easy i have a weird pitch or something because my thumb locks my fingers in the ball at times like if I decide to put my ball down sometimes I have to use my left hand to pull my fingers out.
There is no rule that says you can't wear sneakers. Just that they should be non marking and used only for bowling to avoid messing up the approach. I use bowling shoes but I'm a planter also. If I can't learn to slide, I'm just going to use sneakers.

Just insane revs and speed.

Awesome video! Unique for sure 🔥. How do you get your wrist strong enough to cup the ball on the back swing??? I must know🤔🤔
Love this action. Keep it coming my brother
Thanks.
Hell of a release, big dude like you has all the power. I’d work on a slide if I were you that left knee can only take so much.
Thanks. I've been bowling 33 years and planting for 20 years. There's a technique to it.
Bro.....your whip is insane. You crank the hell put of that ball

It's like throwing a football spiral underhand. The quicker you can do it the more revs you get.
Wow dude, what a work of art. What ball speed is typically produced with your swing?
Thanks. Around 19-20. Im old now...🤣
Great Video!!! your slo mos are perfect
Thanks
Rippin' the cover off as always. Great angles my dude it really shows where your hand is at release.
Thanks. Hope it can help people.
So impressed at that whip! Had to slow down the video to grasp what I was seeing!

Always keep the thumb straight. Squeezing doesnt allow for a clean release. You need a new grip.
Love this video, i just ordered a custom jersey to rock at my championship and majors. Pumped
Appreciate it!!! Look out for that jersey mock up.
That was awesome thank you.
Thank for watching!
Wow! You don't slide at all. That's probably how you generate some of your power.
Hate sliding.
Jason you're awesome man....what exactly is your rev rate?? 💪
It's been a minute since I got it checked, I'd say 580 on avg.
@@hihbowling like a BOSS!!!

Yo iunno if you will read this or not but are you getting your thumb out on the down swing or up this is what confuses me lol

For my game I hate sliding. I wouldn't recommend it off rip. Learn to slide and if you dont like it try planting. Go slow so you dont hurt yourself.
Lovely release bro I want to send you a video of my release for you to see what I'm doing wrong.
Send it. Tag me on any social.

what an art ...
Thanks
I love video, oh wish I could grow my ball that
Just takes a little time. You got this!
Is good real what size bowl you throw 15 or 16 You do that ball like a tornado🌪
Mainly 15. I throw 16 sometimes.
Ok
Having the technique for revs is a must but being built like a linebacker along with it probably helps just a bit🤔
🤣🤣🤣. Technique, look at EJ.
Not knocking your technique I've watched your video on your progress awesome but your 3 ej's look at Robert Smith a bigger stronger ej or am I wrong
Just like I throw it, like throwing a yoyo
I'm at a 182 average now. But since I've been practicing this the past 2 weeks, my league night average is 203.
Nice. Keep going!
Literally no slide that’s wild
Yea I need to stop on a dime...lol
Whats the weight of the ball?
15

Yep, pair of Reeboks just for bowling.

I’d argue that this is the mother of yo-yo power release. Bent elbow and wrist right up until that snap. Yo-yo
