This camera is a BEAST, wish this came out when I was first getting into video/photo, you guys are so lucky and spoiled nowadays 😂
Its Never To Late To Start ... I Started Making Really Bad Videos About 3-4 Years Ago lol And I Mean BAD... But I Am Trying :)
Most of us are already spoiled by smartphones, and that's why camera cameras have to step up their games to make us buy their cameras.
hello your hair is fluffy and amazing
More cinematic videos for this camera pls
Any overheating in 4k 60 or 120?
I'll never get sick of seeing the s-log to color graded footage, it looks so good bro
I own a Sony a6500. The features that I miss in the camera are the support for 10-bit footage and better stabilization. Else I love the Sony a6500. With a6700, they now have added 10-bit support, auto-focus improvements, and improved stabilization. It is seriously a game-changer for such a price point. I bet you guys, this will surely be a killer of even full-frame cameras.
This was the best review of this camera I have watched. You touched on everything I was curious about. 👍🏼
This is the reason why I love watching your videos reviews, passion shows and not just for views.
interestingly, nobody as making noticed, that this camera also records gyro data. huge upgrade compared to the old apsc cameras.
using that for stabilise footage in post production is huge
It would be nice if Sony included 10bit output in the free Catalyst Browse. I can't justify $15 US a month just to stabilize footage. Gyroflow is an option at least.
Are you sure?
Have you tried stabilizing using catalyst? Huge PITA.
@@ghostdogzx-1474agreed, it's so clunky. I cant even stabilise clips differently using catalyst prepare which is r** unless i did something wrong
Always stunning shots ❤
Glad to see your back on touruv
how is it in 4k 60 compared to full frame? does it crop in? in the ff shot wider?
One of the best video on a6700. The explanation is easy to digest for someone who has just started his UA-cam. Appreciate it man 🙏🏼✨
Love thus review and time stamps.... thanks for the low light captures 😮
I always see UA-camrs do “low light-tests” at places with a lot of light: city with neon lights, or carnaval festival. That is not low light. Great video, though ❤
hi,henbu, can you do me a favor, it import to me to use a external monitor when shooting video, can you test will the fcous lag when use external hdmi monitor shooting video. thanks a lot
What lens were you using for those fairground shots?
Hi,
Thanks for the awesome review. Which lenses would you recommend for this camera? And what stabilizer do you use or would you recommend for this camera?
I'd recommend 10-20 f4! Compact and love the weight!
Does it have anti-dust shutter?
Henbu's BACK!
love you bro !❤
What do you think of the noise in this camera? Is it manageable with some noise reduction software? I'm between this camera and the zve1, which one would you choose without thinking about the price?
did you use any noise reducer for these images with the a6700?
Sony’s APS-C crop is 1.5x for normal shooting now with Active Stabilisation ON what is the effective crop factor? Does the crop factor vary by resolution setting?
1.1x as far as I've heard
a7iii or a6700? I'm trying to see which one is betterfor the money i found a a7iii for 1135 and the a6700 is 1300 to 1500 which should I get
Does anyone know if the A6700 is compatible with Sigma lenses? Many reports says it freezes up with the 30mm & 50mm among others.
Hi,great video!💪🏼
I have the a6700 and I can't record in 4K 100p. The camera gives me a message saying that to record at these speeds I need cards higher than v60. I have Sony Tough v90 300mb/s cards.
Any help with this?
2 microphone jacks?
OMG THOSE SHOTS IN THE BEGINNING ARE BEAUTIFUL
I'm interested on your LUTs package, does it work to embed to the Slog on my A6700? I do live stream with Ecamm, so I do use the LUT on camera.
Can you share your export settings ?
Hello @hembu, wich lens for video and photos? Thank you
It shoots 1080p 240fps?
Literally this video convinced me to buy this. Thanks Henbu!
Amazing, my next APSC camera!
is your camera's horizon/balance is off or the room's architecture is ?
I am having a major OCD watching the video :D , but great work !
What prime lens you recommend to use with it new Beast A6700?
Great vid thanks! Subbed.
fraction of the price of what?
now that you've got this one, for someone thinking ab picking up an a7iv, is the a7iv still the go to, or is this beating it out?
I have this same question, I was just looking at the a7iv too
Also got this question. Sony have a student discount plus cashback going on right now (in the UK, may not be for all regions) - so you can get the A7 IV for £1861 (was £2399) or the A6700 for £1304 (was £1445). So that's a £550 difference, which makes the jump to full frame worth questioning.
Same here, let me know if you know, also struggling between the a7IV or this one.. if I can get almost the same quality for that huge price difference I think I’ll get this one (?
Same here. leaning more towards an a7iv but not sure
First ask yourself, why do you want a full frame camera? Like for real, try finding an advantage of a full frame camera that cannot be solved by software or using a speedbooster!
What I missed on the A6---- serie is focus stacking, is that feature present on the 6700?
Yes, it is present!
What was the HUGE Mistake?
I have a question, I own a sony a6700, and apparently it only accepts luts 33 points and not 65 points. Are your luts from the web page selly a 33 or 65 points kinda lut ?
I think this camera is for professionals that realized full frame don't represent any advantage anymore and don't need to record in 6k or for more than 30 minutes continuously.
This is why I think a full frame camera is now on the loss thanks to this setup:
- Full frame was better at noise handling in low light, but now with software like Topaz Denoise or Lightroom this is just not relevant anymore.
- You can use a speedbooster to basically transform your APSC camera into full frame and use your full frame lenses with 100% field of view, bokeh and light.
- The weight is a huge advantage when you need to go hiking, to weddings, or traveling in general due the size and weight limitations of luggage, so small is always better
- You get a higher range with your lenses for telephoto shots and also for Macro, so instead of 600mm telephoto you get 840mm, and macro it helps you magnify even more.
- It is more discreet when doing street photography, due the small size.
- Has higher pixel density, meaning 26mp in APSC has the same pixel density than a 40mp full frame camera, so you get THAT MUCH MORE DETAIL than a A7s3 or even A7IV for example.
- If you need a bigger image, software like Topaz Gigapixel can make your photo 1.5x or 2x, meaning instead of 26mp to be 104mp effortlessly.
- Finally, it looks less "pro" so you draw less attention, making you less targetable for stealing your gear.
I really can't see a single advantage of a full frame camera anymore!
A6400 = 403 gm
A6700 = 493 gms
Combined with weight of good apsc lenses the weight advantage seems to be hardly there with the A6700.
Nah speedbooster can't help you to get that "fullframe" bokeh, it just make the focal length wider
What do you have? Are you getting this ?
No professional gonna swap ff fx3/fx6 for cropshit :D There's no magic like speedbooster giving you more light and bokeh, sorry! Oversharpening due to downscaling from 27mp (a6700) to 8mp (4k) is too much compared to 12mp (a7s3/fx3/fx6) downscaled to 8mp (4k). The moment you crop up to 150+ % you will start realising how artificial the sharpness is on cropped sensors.. Also Topaz is eating your time, professionals are trying to close as much clients as they can per month, not sitting hours and waiting to denoise their footage :)
Many Pros using lenses like 14/20mm f/1.8 on FF which brings you bokeh even in super wide shots... on APS-C you will need 9/13mm f/1.1 which is hard to make in near 15 years for such small cameras. 24mm F1.4, 35mm F1.4, 50mm F1.2... To get these on APS-C you will need F/0.9 = F/1.4 on FF, APS-C F/0.75 = F/1.2 on FF. Impossible. So you are not right.. In crop sensors there are so much physical limitations... We can continue with rolling shutter throwing away your sport footage into the recycle bin... Dynamic range.. etc.
@@flann5802 as someone that has a Sony a6500 and a speed booster I’m telling you yes, it widens the field of view, gives you 1 more full stop of light and increases the bokeh. Check some videos online!
how about the body heat?
12:14 boss move right there 😅 great video sir!
Henbu this Sony A67000 seems to be a great camera. But i must admit I am looking forward to purchasing the Sony A74 or the future Sony A75
So this has a newer sensor compared to a6600 / a6000 ?
yes, same sensor from fx30
At this point do I switch to aps-c I have a Sony a7c but need At least 4k 60 for projects and shoots
just wait for model 2 of the A7C, it may arrive in some months according to rumors
Does it overheat?
Yo, Great to see you are still making content. I might want to get this camera a b cam for fx3.
Don't think the rolling shutter is "bad", the readout speed is about 15ms at 4K24~60p (o/s from 6K), which is decent compared to GH6's ~14ms, I'd say it's usable for all staff but fastest movements.
Not worst than ZV-E10
a used a9 ver 1 is the same price blows this away in all the specs and no rolling shutter.. better off with a ver 1 A9
@@DAVE_WHITE You said it's a "used one", and a9 ver 1 does not have S-Log3, HLG, S-Cinetone, even 4K@60fps is absent on a9 ver 1. I'd say it's a better camera for sports, but not good for video shooters at all.
@@jackwatson8323 I shoot Zero video sports mostly :)
What's the mic called? ECM-M1?
Hey Henbu, been meaning to buy my first beginner camera. Actually trying to weigh pros and cons between a6700 and fuji's xs-20, The reason as well that I came across to your channel (some research). My main purpose is to shoot some good b-rolls, cinematic vids and a little photography sessions. Which one of these options do you recommend? Thanks in advance for your reply! :) cheers!
great B cam to my fx3 and also use it for photos
Hey man,
In my country, this camera and the a7iv are the same price if I buy two lenses with each (the 1.8 Sony for the a7iv and the sigmas 1.4 for the 6700).
They both would cost $2400, because the Sony lenses are cheaper than Sigmas ($200 vs $400).
Which camera should I get for 60/40% video/photo?
Hmm the rolling shutter is actually very good 😅
I wanted to buy a used 7iii this week...should i just go for this instead?
@@chump3888 I have budget but I don't want to sell my kidney ahah I was gonna buy an A7iii with a 55mm 1.8 Zeiss Lens with a great offer of 1.600, completely new (90 Shots taken) € in Germany btw.
@@jonos9467 I’ve seen a bit more about the a6700 and ngl if ur a hobbyist go for the a6700 if ur professional go for full frame
I see improvement only in side slot for SD card, because when you filming from gimbal and out of memory you can easily access card slot. Like in A7C
right now I cannot afford a more professional option like the a7iv or a7rv. I am thinking of this as my first Sony body and first step into the Sony ecosystem. if full frame lenses like Sony FE 50mm 1.8 work then that's great because I don't want to have to buy aps-c lenses the FE mount all over again when i upgrade.
I'm used to filming on various canon cameras, Sony more camcorder models. filmed once with a friend a7iv and love it color science. however my gear is just a canon 70D, this will be a huge upgrade for me for social media marketing videos, and a great camera for traveling when i need to.
there is just one thing that's holding me back, when you talking about the I/O's, I think you said microphone jack twice. one on the top over the micro HDMI and one under the usb C port. or is it the same one? just curious because if this camera doesn't have a headphone jack out to monitor your sound, then its a huge deal breaker for me.
The upper jack is microphone, the lower jack is headphone.
@@careylymanjones thanks
the 50mm will work on the APS-C sensor cameras like the a6700. But they'll behave like a 75mm lens, because of the 1.5x crop factor. That's both a plus (outdoors where you have room to work), and a minus (where you're indoors, with limited space)...
man.. I can't even get footage like this on my ZV-E1 :( great video man!
Is the APS-C sensor going to reduce the background blur?
Yes, but you can easily solve this with a 150 USD speedbooster, so the images will be identical to a full frame.
@@IvanVazquezSwhat is it?
would you change a PANASONIC GH5 (first model) for this camera?
Great vid! Do you think its worth the upgrade from the a6500?
Yes Sure, a6500 gen 1, a6600 gen 2 and a6700 gen 3
@@Channel-xx8qthehe 6700 gen1, 6800 gen2, 6900 gen3 🥰
I don’t think it’s worth to upgrade from a APSC to another APSC Camera. It’s better to save more money end go to a full frame one
Fx 30 vs 6700 comparison please specially video
This biggest frustration I have on the a6700 is that no gimbal or follow focus device is fully compatible with it. I've tried Hohem, DJI, Tilta Nucleus NanoII. They can only do video start/stop via USB or Bluetooth (if that). No control of ISO/Shutter/Aperture/Focus/zoom at all, whereas a6500 and down all have compatibility on common gimbals/FIZ. This is a huge miss. I've given up using this for video on gimbal or stabilizing rigs. I'd rather use a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. For photos though, a6700 is perfect. My Canon 6D+glass is so heavy that I don't bring it anywhere. But a6700 + you can get such light APSC and even full frame lenses that I've started bringing it with me.
Thank you so much😊❤
My man! Great review! Does this mean you’re selling your A6400?!?!!!
Thank you homie!!! haha maybe !!!
Sell me your a6400 but just make sure you autograph the lcd screen with a sharpie 😂😂😂.
I am selling mine :)
Can you do flash photography with this camera ?
it has no built in flash, but you can attach a flash on it.
Maaaan this is a bad ass APSC camera
I really hate how much artificial segmentation Sony has created with 3 different lines that operate independently. I love my FX and A7 cameras but their existence is the biggest reason the A6xx line will always play second fiddle and regurgitating parts off the shelf.
Nothing wrong with that.
Just buy the camera that fits your needs. If you shoot professional videos, the FX line is for you. If you vlog most of the time, the ZV line is for you. And...if you primarily shoot stills, and still want to make videos, the A7 and a6000 line is for you. Easy.
nice!
I am so going to buy this camera. Shot for the awesome review.
the a9 ver 1 is used for about 1500$ if you don't need fancy video it is way better in all aspects as well as NO ROLLING SHUTTER
How about overheating? I've seen other creators complain about it.
Great Vid man 💪🏽
It has not improved much. And they cannot improve every aspect honestly as it will kill their other line of products, especially the full-frame ones.
@@kumaravnish3078 The bigger the sensor, the better the image. Or do you think Ansel Adams schlepped that big 8x10 camera of his around because he wanted the exercise? APS-C will never equal full-frame, as long as the sensors, processors, lenses, etc. are equal. APS-C can capture good images, and sometimes, you don't want the weight and bulk associated with a full-frame rig.
There will always be photographers willing to make the effort to carry and shoot full-frame. There are use cases where choosing APS-C over full-frame is silly. Astrophotography, comes immediately to mind. There are use cases where APS-C is the obvious choice, and full-frame is doing it the hard way. Trying to get candid street shots with a big full-frame rig vs a little APS-C rig that looks like a tourist's point-and-shoot, is a good example.
@@careylymanjones I never questioned if professionals would even consider APS-C, professionals will surely go for full frame. But Sony's full-frame sales would be eaten up by APS-C as it provides more value for each buck, especially for beginners and semi-professionals.
Wondering if overheating has nothing to do with Sony. I've recently been looking at reviews of Canons R8...and some people are saying there is overheating issues.
Both A6700 and R8 are cameras that aim towards more compactness.
Perhaps any overheating is just inherent when one starts to get compact without some new tech not yet available or cost feasable yet to help diffuse the heat.
Thanks for your response. However, I'm certain that you already know that Sony does make a camera which uses the aspc sized sensor as I stated in my note: The FX30 which does in fact have two card, express slots. Also does not have overheating problems because they used the same body as the FX3 which has cooling fans. So, I'm sorry to counter your case, I do in fact feel strongly that Sony could well afford to make a much better product than the a6700. By the way, Sony has made tons of money with their PlayStation Enterprise, so don't u think that they could be a little more generous to those who are into the apsc format? I do have the Sony a6000 camera. It is an overheating MONSTEER! :) 😎😎
They need to save something for future a7xxx series. They can't put out everything possible in every model coming out. Otherwise, how would they be able to release so many cameras :D
@@allthebestmoves Well, let's look at this problem another way. Let's say u just bought a brand new Ford Mustang (knowing that it does have one serious flaw. at the dealership when they sold it to u, they mentioned that this particular car, the yellow one-right in front of your eyes is a lemon. it loses oil like crazy, a quart every ten miles. u say to yourself, "so what, they can't afford to put everything possible into this new 2024 model." U buy it & low and behold, you drive out the door and get on the Los Angeles Freeway Fastlane, only to have it go into OVERHEATING & SHUTDOWN, Hundreds of cars slam into you. You are in the Next World. You smile & say, "Look at all those suckers out there with their cars that don't loose oil." Heaven Can Wait is Now Heaven is Here, LOL 😎😎
Dude, nice review and all, but am I missing something as regards the title of this review, 'Sony made a HUGE MISTAKE w/this camera?... Want to buy this camera and watched because of title, did I miss it, where you being ironic???.... Thanks man.
"A huge mistake"? What was the mistake?? The only down-side I saw mentioned in the video was the rolling shutter... Either way, thanks for the good info! I'm considering picking up an A6700 soon - just trying to decide what glass to pair it with at this point...
It called click baiting
Thanks for the comprehensive review. I’m planning on purchasing the A6700 primarily for travel (landscapes) and portraits along with some video. Would you recommend one of the kit lenses (16-50 or 18-135) or a different lens? I’d like to only purchase one lens if possible, and no more than two. Thanks.
Is it good for entry lvl filmmaking
Excellent little camera. The internal viewfinder I understand needs improvement. It would be nice if Sony would come out with a very high quality external viewfinder.
Just got this with 16-55 2.8 and 4 more lenses. I have 2 A1’s and reach for this for video.
Great video. Looks like a very solid camera with great specs.
So the course is not coming 😅 😭!?
A7C or A6700?
Or, the best of the two worlds (tiny Fullframe camera paired with 10-bit 4k60): just wait for model 2 of the A7C, it may arrive in some months according to rumors. I'm doing this as I don't really want to buy into an APS-C system when the A7C model 1 was just the right (compact) size for me. So, no size advantage for APS-C if you use pancakes on the fullframe body.
Hey comment section 👋🏼
My budget is $2k and I’m looking for a camera to mostly capture video of the city for B-roll and the occasional snapshot of sunsets and landscapes etc…
I’m new to this so I’m curious if there’s like a Swiss Army knife type of camera that can do it all for my current budget!
Thanks in advance.
How much Sony paid you ?
Sony A6700 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
hello everyone! i currently have a Lumix G7. ive had this camera for manyyyyyyy years now. Im looking to upgrade to a new camera. Mainly for Music videos, cinematography, short films. But i also want that super crisp photography side as well. I was looking at the sony A 7RV but that has a pretty penny on it. then i discovered the A6700. Now im torn.
Don't buy this camera! I bought it during the release because of all the hype and all these UA-cam "reviewers". The deal breaker is that it overheats VERY fast. I returned it and bought the FX30. MUCH MUCH better. The FX30 is the way to go....and if you can stomach the FX3....buy the FX3. But, FX30 does MORE than enough for us normal folk. No brainer.
I swear this is the smooth review I have seen

I shoot longer videos never really a photo, I'm thinking I should lean towards FX30, but all these A6700 reviews and specs are making me debate between A6700 vs FX30... cant decide.. =(
The 6700 will overheat after about 40mins shooting 4k60 so FX30 is the better choice
Now I can’t choose between the FX30 or the A6700..
A6700 has mechanical shutter the fx30 is not and a6700 will overheat the fx30 not
You have 26mp sensor in a6700 btw
If your hybrid user, easy choice. If video only easy choice too.
Easy a6700 and save $400, and you can actually take pictures. Fx30 is a waste. I had it and sold it.
@@yusufboz164 Be careful about the overhead claim. It is only shooting at the fastest fps at 4k. No problem at the slower speeds. This is how incorrect news get out when people give questionable to false information.
Not impressed with the quality of sound from the Mic.

too good that it overheats indoors
damn i remembered seeing and saved that video on tiktok!
Awesome camera but video overheat times were under 15min at 4k 60 and 120 from Manny Ortiz. Unacceptable
depending on codec. who record more than 15 min 4k 120 fps or more than 20 min 4k 60 fps? not me as wedding photovideo shooter, not a video logger who don't need such fast framerates, not a traveler, not a naturalist, so why should be unaccepatable for anyone?
