  • I have a lot of people ask me about the fishing rods that I use for Muskies so in this video I talk about the 4 main rods that I use for musky fishing and what baits I like to throw with each of them and pose the question, "Is there one rod that will do it all?"
    The four rods I use the most are as follows:
    Chaos Tackle Assault Stick 20/20 Surgical Strike 9 ft Split Grip
    Chaos Tackle Assault Stick 20/20 SWAT 9 ft 6 in Split Grip
    Chaos Tackle Assault Stick 20/20 Shock & Awe 9 ft Split Grip
    Chaos Tackle Assault Stick 20/20 MOAB 9 ft Full Grip

    Hey there, .. I mentioned in my last post about musky rods double as a surf rod… well, .. I just walked back from one of our local beaches with my new musky rod 10’6” Tackle Industries, .. I whipped this rod pretty hard and I got well over 125 yards which is way farther than you would ever need for casting to any musky...!
    I've heard guys fishing for small bluefin tuna with these rods... Nit just the brand Zi gave but I believe most musky rods are up for the task of many species of fish...!
    Awesome rod, .. I must say..!
    Tight lines to all...!

    Solid video! I think for most guys that fish shield lakes, think bigger lures most of the time, the Shock & Awe would be a perfect all around stick, in 9'.
    For me, the MOAB is my go-to rod, I pretty much do everything with it. I'm not a angler that needs a rod/reel specialty set up for certain lures, I love the grab one and go approach. More casting, less time swapping gear.

    Hey there, ... 2 years ago I purchased a Tackle Industries 9’ telescopic musky rod med heavy fast action 60 to 130 lbs. line rating paired with a Daiwa Lexa 400, ... Then recently I got another musky rod, .. Tackle Industries telescopic 10’6” xtra heavy fast action, ... Paired with a very nice Abu 7000c...
    I've seen and checked out many musky rods but I think the price of a Tackle Industries rod, ... I cannot complain about it..
    9’ tele was $275
    10’6” tele was around $300…
    Musky is not the only fish these rods are for… my 10’6” Is 6” shy of one of my surf rods... Which made me think, .. You do not need to spend a lot on musky rods... They're not much different than surf rods…. Think about it…?

    i really enjoy my assault stick shak&awe and know my father loves his 20/20 i got him for fathers day but if your on a budget the daiwa prorex rods at their price point cant be beat. i also have a few st croixs and love them but know alot of people cant justify spedning 350-500 on a rod. i mostly run abu and daiwa reels tho would like to try a tranx but that would require me getting more rods i can take having one or two spare reels but 4-5 feels like a waste. 7'6 is the perfect length rod for certain rivers near me that you have to run jon boat or kayak in but they have some monsters in but when i can break my big boat out i love the 9'6 perfect legnth and really just lets you get that bait out there and cover some water

    I have a surgical strike, 9 foot, its the only rod I use.
    A lot of youtubers recommend the Swat model for the all purpose muskie rod, but to me its just not necessary? The big heavy lures (4oz+) for me personally are too expensive and aren't necessary to catch big fish, and since I've caught plenty of fish on the smaller stuff. I typically throw single/double 8s, the largest I've thrown is a 6oz headbanger, or a double 9. I've raised plenty of sizeable fish on my mepps musky marabou spinner, as well as my micro angry dragon chatterbait.

      Eric Pennington I ran St Croix Legend Tournaments for many years, but I really don't like the fast action. The only rod I really liked was the 7'9" Lip Stick, and it was because of the Moderate/Fast Action. I still use St Croix for walleye, bass, panfish, I just don't care for the musky rods anymore. But it's all about what you're confident fishing! Thanks for the comment, dude!

      Dux I use the 9ft surgical strike for smaller glides and jerks. The Tactical in either the 8'6" or the 9' would be an excellent choice for them as well!

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  Рік тому

      Dave W I agree that you can catch a musky or pike on just about any rod from ultra light to XXXXH, the issue is mostly using a rod that will handle the weight and size of the baits that you want to use 😊

    I’ve got a original assault stick in shac an awe. And it’s a little older and the part where it is telescopic got a little water in it and it doesn’t move now no matter what i do. Also at the show in St. Charles I was told that I could trade it in and get a brand new one. Is that true?

    I am looking to get 2 rods to cover everything. I'm thinking 9' surgical strike for up to 4 oz, and 9' shock n awe for anything bigger. Would that be the best 2? Also, I am 6'1, would going to 9'6" on the rods be better? Thanks.

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  3 місяці тому

      @derickchristensen3219 You certainly could, especially larger, heavier ones. For most glides, though, I'd prefer either the Surgical Strike or Tactical Strike in either an 8'6" or 9'.

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  3 місяці тому

      @derickchristensen3219 It's really hard to come by one rod that does it all because you're almost always going to either have a rod too heavy for really small/light baits or one that can't quite handle the really big/heavy baits. The closest I would say you could get would be a 9'6" Shock and Awe
