    Yvan,
    Could you send me some IP addresses to figure and I will submit the answers to you to ensure I have this?

    09:45 How can 01111111 be 127 ? I think it should be 123 (64+32+16+8+2+1)

    • @YvanFPerron
      @YvanFPerron  8 років тому +2

      +Pavol Trisc Hello Pavol, It is indeed 127. 4 is missing for bit 2.
      (64+32+16+8+4+2+1)

    At 3mins 5secs you begin working out the number of hosts. You say we have 16 network bits but you write 32-16. Where does the figure of 32 come from?

    • @YvanFPerron
      @YvanFPerron  9 років тому

      Simply trying to show that if we have 16 network bits, then number of host bits is (32 - # of network bits) as the sum of network + host bits must always equal 32.
      Hope this helps,
      Yvan

    • @matrix26uk
      @matrix26uk 9 років тому

      So the 32 comes from the fact all addresses are 32bit?

    • @YvanFPerron
      @YvanFPerron  9 років тому

      matrix26uk That is correct. IPv4 addresses are always 32 bits.
