Thank you! My husband of 2 hours short of 61 years passed away in September after I was his full time caretaker for 2 years. I felt and still that I have cried very little for him and it makes me feel almost guilty. He was so sick I couldn’t wish him back. My pastor said I had already grieved as I lost him, day by day, inch by inch. It is just recently I don’t wake up in the morning asking God why I am still here. I never thought about being beyond broken.

Grieving looks different for everybody. Some people shut down completely and need weeks to recover or even months. Some people take the grief by the reins, dig their heels in and get done what needs to be done. Throw themselves into work, kids, activities, whatever occupies the mind. I do know the gaping hole that's left after your spouse dies. Mine died suddenly 5 yrs ago. You are upright, killing it and take the time to grieve.
