Thank you so much for the detailed explanation of both the issue with the default sub octave 2 AND the fix for it. This made all the difference in the world with the sound. I have shared your tip with other musicians engineers and sales reps.

I have a question, if you are only using the SUB out which pickup position sounds most like bass guitar and/or has the best note definition when playing chords? And which kind of pickups sound the best when trying to get close to a bass sound HB, single coils, p90s, mini hums? any suggestions would be much appreciated

I have only tried it with my guitar, which is an HSS Strat. I liked my bass guitar sound most on the bridge, with the coil split active.
As for the pickup types, I think there is a lot of range between the tones of different models of pickups of the same type. Think about the difference between a single coil bridge pickup on a Stratocaster and a single coil pickup on a Telecaster. There's also different models of the same type of pickup that introduce even more change, like Gibson vs DiMarzio vs EMG humbuckers. Because of that, the 'best' type of pickup for your sound depends on its position, its specific model, and your guitar. So the best way to find your perfect combination is to just try each of your pickups and see which one you like best.

@@gregsguitargear6936 thanks, i wanted to try a bit of an experiment so I was just wondering. Years ago I had a firebird with a p90 in the bridge and a strat single coil in the neck wired to stereo. And from what I recall the neck strat sounded most like bass with an octaver. I was just wondering as I have a jazzmaster junior with a single p90 and I was considering modding it and doing the same setup as my old firebird, but if I can get away with a splitter box and the single p90 it will save me a lot of hassle.
